Me too. Chris Cornell and Soundgarden my first and still my all time favourite. His death was the most painful of my generation. 94 when i first heard Blackhole Sun then i bought superunkown and was blown the fuck away. 12 years old and i knew every lyric from every song
You can see that Chris’ emotion is passed right on to you as you watch. You were drawn right in. This song has me in tears again tonight. I just can’t believe he’s gone. Thanks for listening to him. ❤️
I recently heard his cover of "stay with me baby". That song is beautiful anyway but his cover actually took my breath away. Its stunning. But then whatever he did was amazing. He is so missed.
I'm still devastated myself. I just don't know why he did it, and for the life of me just can't figure-out why. It was so sudden and he didn't leave a note or anything. 😥
I got to see his acoustic show a year or so before he passed. There were moments I just sat there in the dark, with my eyes shut, listening to his voice. I cannot explain how beautiful it was 😭❤
I saw him..he was with Chester and Linkin Park...he did a set...LP did a set..then they did a set together. Best concert I've ever been to...they are literally as good as the videos you see!!
This is the original he had the song written before he went into Audioslave hence why he sings mostly by himself on acoustic at least the Audioslave shows I went to the song was played thus way with the drummer
Chris has always had a special place in my heart. He's been my idol for over 20 years. He was family to me. I've always found comfort in his songs and his voice. The day he passed, he took a little piece of me with him. It was truly a painful loss for me. He was gone too soon. Such a beautiful soul he was. 💜💙💜
Do NOT react to that song live unless its an early 90s performance. Some of the later live performances are either terrible audio quality or during the time he was having problems with his voice.
@@jamelakajamal For the "full Cornell Experience" you need to check out his band Soundgarden and listen to the song "Outshined". It will blow you away!
saw him with soundgarden in 1996. lollapalooza with rage against the machine and metallica. was a huge fan of his at the time but Metallica was my favorites and I was sure id be starstruck seeing them the first time. but when he came on and they opened to spoonman, I was in complete awe. have never been in awe like that since
Agreed. I am the highway is also on his songbook tour. Check that acoustic version out. And as Hope and Promise Fades. Fucking great song. Definitely check out Cochise and Show me how to live off the actually Audioslave stuff like he said.
I've seen Chris with Soundgarden 8 times, with Audioslave 5 times and Chris solo 4 times and with Temple of the dog 5 times..... he was phenomenal.... This song gives me goosebumps and tears!!! R.I.P. Chris!! Gone way too soon... can't believe it's been 3 years now 💞🙏😪
Saw him in 2002 with Audioslave. It was like seeing someone larger than life. I remember the crowd reaction as he walked on stage. It was like people were in awe and disbelief.
This was my first time hearing this acoustic version and all I can say is WOW! Such power and emotion in his voice. Made me cry a bit. Such a huge talent that is sorely missed. I only got to see him once, back in the mid '90's with Soundgarden, but it was amazing. My favorite album of theirs is Badmotorfinger, anything off of that is gold!
I found Chris pretty late as I was into other music during the grunge era, but since the first time I heard Audioslave, Chris became the top inspiration for me as a singer, no one can do what he did the way he did it, no one ever will. Absolutely amazing singer, songwriter and such an inspiration.
I think I’ve seen Chris Cornell love about 20 times in my life. I never missed a show since he did the club scenes with soundgarden in 1989. His voice, sound writing and lyrics are unmatched. Truly changed my life.
I appreciate your sincere reaction to this song. I'm reminded of that scene from Walk the Line where the music executive tells Johnny Cash that he needs to sing with the same passion he would if he was dying and only had enough time left to sing one more song to tell God how he felt about his time on Earth, I felt like Chris Cornell always sang with that level of passion.
I was fortunate enough to discover Chris Cornell early in his career. I was also fortunate enough to see him live three times on his solo tours, twice with Soundgarden, and twice with Audioslave. His live performances were some of the best I have seen with his stand outs being his solo performances. The solo performances allowed you to focus on his voice as the center piece and experience his gift. His passing was truly a loss to the world of music. May he RIP.
There's no other vocal and lyrically talented and good man like Chris Cornell ever I miss him greatly and glad he is in a better place rockn out with the gods and angels
This musical journey you have been on has been fantastic to watch. Thank you for inviting us all along, introducing us to new artists and trusting us to steer you in certain directions we think you may enjoy. Great stuff. Thank you.
Saw him 4 times, Once with Soundgarden and three times acoustic solo. So glad I was able to experience him live. No better vocalist ever ,anywhere . Absolutely life changing. I’m 52 ,grunge was my jam (still is) . This guy was an absolute GOD!!
I went on a hiatus for 15 years not listening to very much music at all. It was Chris Cornell who revived my love of music. I seen him live in concert with Audioslave in Indianapolis. I had 7th row seats. It was great! I hadn't seen a concert before that in 20 years and I haven't seen one since. He was special.
He was one of the few that could touch your soul.... what a lost for music lovers .... and for humanity. A gentle and tormented soul... Loved your your reaction to this greatness.
I think he could make any most song sound good and made it sound like it was his listen to nothing compares 2U the voice of our generation so missed rip Chris Cornell yes it was a tragic loss the world and the music world lost a great powerhouse voice his can give you the chills just wonderful ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yes, I was lucky enough to see Soundgarden three times and Audioslave once. Chris Cornell's voice was powerful, haunting, beautiful, whatever he chose to bring at any given time, and I cry every time I hear him since he passed. He is still my favorite singer, followed by Layne and Maynard. I hope you play much more of him.
Saw him at Benaroya Hall in Seattle solo. Was 5 rows back. Been to quite a few concerts. Best show I have ever seen. His voice was so pure with incredible range. The emotion he could push through his voice controlled the crowd.
Got to see Chris when he and the rest of Soundgarden got back together and started recording and touring at the Gorge in Washington it’s an outdoor venue what a show. Because it was the first show in Washington since they got back together it was awesome when he said “ if it’s ok we you guys we’re gonna just play the old songs” was one of the best performances I’ve seen anywhere glad I got to see them all together one last time!
Chris's voice pierces through your heart and soul. Such a beautiful man gone too soon. I've been a longtime fan and losing him still hurts. His words have saved me during various situations in my life. Just an amazing light, gone but not burnt out. He lives through the music he left behind.
I was lucky enough to see him with Audioslave at Ozzfest back in the day. I had loved him since Soundgarden. His voice is just synonymous with my youth; it still gives me goosebumps. Such talent. The day he died, I actually cried. I never got to meet him, didn't know him, but I'm truly sad that the world lost him. Music is the great equalizer; it transcends. Voices like his are the most amazing gift.
As harsh as it is to type, he couldn’t have left us at a better time. The world is getting scarier. Gone too soon, but your voice could make this cold place a wee bit warmer. RIP. 😢
I was blessed the evening I saw him perform! It was a small venue in Napa, Ca & I went with my rocking sister cause she had an extra ticket. Knew of him & some songs but Wow Wow Wow! He was amazing! He had a presence about him, an aura of beauty & light that shined brightly! So so talented yet humble & very funny. He mesmerized the audience with his 1st song & he had us in awe the rest of the evening. The longer this man performed the better his voice became & the stronger his guitar playing also became! He performed for 2hrs 20 min without a break when someone came to him telling him to stop cause he’d already played 20 mins past the noise ordinance. So he played one last wonderful song & ended. I left that concert that evening feeling like a different person. Like I’d been in the presence of someone so so special! Even today 6 yrs later I remember the feelings he left me with, the talent, the voice, the guitars, the jokes/stories, the love for his audience & his normalcy! So that was my time experiencing Mr. Chris Cornell which was such a blessing…
I've heard The original Studio version of "Like a Stone" many times, but this is my 1st time seeing Chris's Acoustic Solo performance of it. And Man Oh Man ! Am I so happy that i stumbled across this Video. This was absolutely Beautiful. I am a huge Chris Cornell fan. Thank you so much for sharing your Rection with all of Us, I still remember when I heard on the news that Cornell had died on May 18th 2017, I was driving in Tulsa, Oklahoma when it came on the radio. And I was pretty Shocked, I actually had to pull into a parking Lot and kind of let it absorb in. and then i was kind of in Awe for a moment, and i had a Strong Nostalgic flashback moment thinking about all of the great times I had sharing with friends & family I had jamming out to Soundgarden & since 1993, and all of the Crazy times at parties & bars that I had been too in the where their music was being played. Chris Cornell will be always be Sorely missed by his die hard fans. What rare & wonderful talent.
I’ve loved Chris for decades, I remember where I was and what I was doing when I heard he died, and it changed me... I don’t think I spoke fir a couple of days, I am convinced he is now in heaven teaching the choirs of angels how to sing, RIP Chris, the world is less without you

Your comment on how humble he was is so spot on. EVERY time I saw him interviewed he was that man. I’m talking from the time he was a very young man first enjoying success until just before his death. Considerate, thoughtful and so missed.
I saw him live at The Palais Theatre in Melbourne 2015. With just an acoustic guitar and his big voice he just about blew the roof off the joint. I have never experienced anything like it before, you were literally pinned to the back of your seat in pure joy and amazement. He is dearly missed.
One of my all time favourite shows was seeing Chris Cornell on his acoustic solo tour. His songs from Audioslave, Soundgarden and Temple of the Dog in acoustic versions just take on a whole different meaning. Very hard to not get emotional when listening to these songs.
As someone who grew up in the 90s, I've been listening to Chris Cornell for more than 30 years and I don't think I've ever heard him hit a sour note. The dude was pitch perfect. No auto tune, no effects, nobody pushing any buttons to improve his vocals...just his voice, a guitar and a mic. That's all he ever needed and it actually sounds real, and overflowing with emotion, unlike 99% of today's performers who rely on effects and auto tune to digitally enhance their voices. RIP Chris, no one sings like you anymore.
I was blessed, honoured to see him 3 times, once with Soundgarden, once with AUdioslave and then 🔥on his solo tour, always Phenominal❣️ You bring the truth...
I was very lucky to see him live and he did not disappoint ! The mans voice is just second to none in my eyes ! Right there with Gord Downey of the tragically hip . There is some great music to check out for you ! Also another great man gone too soon . RIP Gord and Cris .
A little late, but I saw him live twice after he left Audioslave. That voice. It brings me to tears every time I hear him singing! Rock in peace Chris. I hope you have finally found peace.
I saw him with Audioslave a couple of times, once with Soundgarden (reunion), and once solo acoustic...that solo show was one of the most powerful experiences I have ever had. I don't really have words to describe how great it was, the closest I can come is the cliche of comparing it to a profound religious experience.
I saw him on one of his last tours. I remember thinking that the opening band had an incredible singer with a lot of power, but Chris came out on the last song with them and his voice was 5x more powerful and amazing. I was speechless so many times in that concert.
first saw soundgarten in the early 90's on the badmotorfinger tour...life changing...listened to them since the screaming life days...such talent in those guys...
I have seen him live, when he was with AudioSlave and they performed before Linkin Park, who was the headliner. Chris was absolutely amazing in concert and Chester was terrific as well. Chris Cornell has perhaps the greatest voice in the history of rock music.
I try to avoid hearing his songs in public as many of them just bring me to tears.
Same. 😪
Me too. Chris Cornell and Soundgarden my first and still my all time favourite. His death was the most painful of my generation. 94 when i first heard Blackhole Sun then i bought superunkown and was blown the fuck away. 12 years old and i knew every lyric from every song
I totally get your emotion. I'm 62 and have been listening to Chris (Soundgarden) with my son since early 90's and his voice makes me weep.
Lennon's 'Mother' ( the way I grew up ) & 'Amazing Grace' on bagpipes ( My grandfather's funeral )... every time.
Me too 😭❤️
I have seen Chris Cornell more times than I can count. He is my angel. I saw him 2 weeks before he died.
I will NEVER get over his passing...I grew up with his music since the very beginning.💙 Chris Cornell...4ever💙
Chris was the total package, All time great singer, handsome, and humble. He will always be missed
You can see that Chris’ emotion is passed right on to you as you watch. You were drawn right in. This song has me in tears again tonight. I just can’t believe he’s gone. Thanks for listening to him. ❤️
I greatly appreciate that you noticed his humility. In real life, he was actually a little shy and soft-spoken
His acoustic covers of Bob Marley - Redemption Song and Michael Jackson - Billie Jean are a must.
Oakland-A's-Diehard ...and Whitney Houston!! And live duet with Cat Stevens. Also very good ☺️
Billie Jean is just haunting the way her sings it. ❤🔥😭
Redemption Song and Lucky Dube - Prisoner
God bless.
I recently heard his cover of "stay with me baby". That song is beautiful anyway but his cover actually took my breath away. Its stunning. But then whatever he did was amazing. He is so missed.
It’s such a tragedy that he’s no longer with us .... will always miss him and his incredible music.

I'm still devastated myself. I just don't know why he did it, and for the life of me just can't figure-out why. It was so sudden and he didn't leave a note or anything. 😥
So much of Chris to hear. The song Hunger Strike when he sings with Eddie Vedder. Powerful!
Two of the most amazing voices Chris and Ed.
That entire album is brilliant
I got to see his acoustic show a year or so before he passed. There were moments I just sat there in the dark, with my eyes shut, listening to his voice. I cannot explain how beautiful it was 😭❤
That is haunting and beautiful. 😢😢😢
Yes So AMAZING

U should also listen to the original version of this song...Audioslave...Like a Stone👍
Agree.
Definitely, this is good, but with the original is 10x better
Absolutely.....the guitar solo is incredible too!
This is the original he had the song written before he went into Audioslave hence why he sings mostly by himself on acoustic at least the Audioslave shows I went to the song was played thus way with the drummer
Yup.
Oh, that voice. Beautifully, haunting with such raw passionate power. You are SO missed Chris💔💔💔
I love the thought bubbles and not interrupting the song. That's the way to do it!
I've seen him live, a year before he died! His performance at the royal albert hall will stay with me forever
🙏🏾
Saw his acoustic show with my son (who used to steal my cd’s).... It was great sharing that with him.

Christopher Howell
And it's getting darker all the time. Very quickly!
Yes, it sure has.
It keeps sinking lower and sad without him.
He was the rare light for the darkness that is already here.
Apparently it was a pretty dark place for him or he would still be here.

Ohh! RATM? When I saw the tour they were with The Ramones!
It was said he had a 4 octave vocal range, same as Freddie Mercury. Another one of my beloved vocalists.
Rusted Cage via Soundgarden is wicked.
"The Day I Tried To Live" definitely showcases his 4, almost 5, octave range. Masterpiece.
I cried all the way through your reaction... His voice means so much but your reaction made me more focused on spreading his music and his love

Seen him live!! He is amazing! The voice of an Angel!
Chris's voice is insanely distinctive. You could ALWAYS catch his vocals no matter who he sang with.
I saw him with Audioslave a couple of times, once with Soundgarden (reunion), and once solo acoustic...that solo show was one of the most powerful experiences I have ever had. I don't really have words to describe how great it was, the closest I can come is the cliche of comparing it to a profound religious experience.
Perfectly said.
I get goosies EVERY SINGLE TIME I hear his voice!! This is my favorite song of his!! But, it also breaks my heart since he's passed ❤🙏😭🙏❤
🙏🏾
I saw him on one of his last tours. I remember thinking that the opening band had an incredible singer with a lot of power, but Chris came out on the last song with them and his voice was 5x more powerful and amazing. I was speechless so many times in that concert.
So beautiful and haunting 💙
Yes🙏🏾
@@jamelakajamal omg! Woohoo. Your the best. You made this old lady happy. 🤗
👏👏👏👋👋👋The front man for soundgarden 😃👍Chris Cornell will be missed by many in seattle indeed. Great voice great writer. Good reaction
first saw soundgarten in the early 90's on the badmotorfinger tour...life changing...listened to them since the screaming life days...such talent in those guys...
I listen to him almost daily. Miss him so💜Loved listening with you today. Made me emotional😔
My favorite artist of all time. Glad I found your videos of him. I have seen many artists live, I regret never seeing him and Soundgarden.
I love that you just sat there and listened. Chris's voice is just... theres no words 🖤🖤🖤
I have seen him live, when he was with AudioSlave and they performed before Linkin Park, who was the headliner. Chris was absolutely amazing in concert and Chester was terrific as well. Chris Cornell has perhaps the greatest voice in the history of rock music.
Have seen this master 17 on 4 continents broke my heart when he left. Music will never be the same
Anything off his Acoustic songbook tour is a must. Billie Jean. As hope and Promise Fades. Those two are absolutely great.
