I will not forget that I was on a camping trip and I had a generator just like this and the starter cutout did not work and the operating cord was broken / The clip that you presented here helped me very much and made me fix the malfunction and I continued on my journey with my family for that and in all that the word means thank you and I wish you a happy life /
Thanks for the video. I have one of these in Africa and the pull cord stuck and didn't go back in. I was surprised to see that someone had a video showing how to get to the recoil housing. Very helpful.
You sir, are a brave man. I have seen hundreds of videos of Honda and clone carbs being taken off and put back but this is the first time I have seen someone make a carb gasket.
Great demonstration... I was already planing to buy another starter after loose the cord inside and can't fix the spring. Now is working again and already in place. Thanks brother.
IT IS ONE THING TO ORDER THE COMPLETE ASSEMBLY AND R&R (REMOVE AND REPLACE) THE COMPLETE UNIT. IT IS ANOTHER THING TO TEAR THE COMPONENT DOWN AND REBUILD IT. ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE IMPRESSED? THE EU3000is COMPLETELY OUT OF STOCK EVERYWHERE. SHOULD BE AVAILABLE SUMMER 2021. I WILL DEFINITELY BUY ONE THEN. EXCELLENT REPAIR!
So I recently had gotten three generators(I already got the first one working, it was a broken rocker arm)that I was trying to bring back to life.(I think I’ll get at least 6 out of commission generators, hopefully) One of em was this exact same model you have. Apparently someone had already taken it apart because when I took apart the recoil starter and it’s gears, inside, something just didn’t feel like it was supposed to spin the way it was intended to spin. In other words, someone took it apart, and didn’t put it back exactly as it was. So when I would crank the little motor, the part that turns the shaft of the generator to get it going, well that didn’t bloody spin. And this video right here, of you taking it apart mindfully, well it helped me get the starter gears working again. For that, thank you dude. Now I’m going to see if there’s anything else wrong with the generator. It’s kinda tedious troubleshooting the generator, but to be honest, this is really fun.
@@Andrewactual You know, I like the compact generators a lot. The closed body with the insulation makes em so much quieter. Before watching your video, while messing with the gears, I noticed inside the grooves a piece of the teeth had broken off and got jammed in there. I pulled it out and checked to see if it would spin normally and not jam with the other gear and it was great. I also saw the pull cord was basically popped off. I took out the old cord and will replace it later on. I just wanna make sure it can start, so the starter motor is alright for now, and honestly, preferred since I can don’t have to pull anything. I feel like maybe the gear teeth broke first, and didn’t allow the starter motor to work like it should, so the previous users tried force starting it with the pull cord, but since the teeth would jam, eventually they popped the cord. I figured since it couldn’t start anymore, they just neglected and abandoned the generator and were too lazy to troubleshoot it properly. And so some idiot took it apart and didn’t take their time like they should have. I was literally on the floor for an hour just inspecting it. I couldn’t fathom why the gears kept jamming until I remembered the gears are plastic and more likely to break. Do you think a little grease could ease up some stress from it? Or leave the teeth dry? I hope you get your other gen up and running again. God, in these times right now, it’s a safer bet to have a working generator than relying only on the mains. And the quieter ones makes it even more discrete too. So no one notices you’re better off.
I’m not a prepper, but I honestly feel like I might start being one. Might even buy extra parts of the more wear and tear parts for my main generator, so incase it fails, at least I could replace it rather than fix it.
The sheet metal screws around the outside, the choke cable on the carb and the hidden screw inside the fuel shutoff that wasps build a mud nest over so you don’t know it’s there then cut it off and now I can’t turn my fuel off! My bet is the screw inside the middle of the fuel shutoff knob if you can’t get your panel off.
You skipped over any important steps on the repairs. Looks like you just you just fiddled with it. Then turn the video off and figured out how to do necessary steps to reassemble the poll rope.

That’s awesome! I’m glad you were able to fix your generator! Have a great trip!
Thanks for the video. I have one of these in Africa and the pull cord stuck and didn't go back in. I was surprised to see that someone had a video showing how to get to the recoil housing. Very helpful.
It’s kind of a pain but not impossible!

Still using that thing to produce electricity on my property! It’s running great

My pleasure! Glad you got that thing working again!

from the Netherlands thanks for the video

Awesome, good luck with the lot of generators! My new Duromax 12k pull cord just failed so that’s gonna need handled soon.

This video is very helpfu, I bought this inverter and it needs a handle.l
I’m glad you found it useful!
I literally watched this because I was stuck on getting the fuel shut off know off and you skipped it, I'll get it lol😅
There is a screw in the middle of the knob
You blew right by reinstalling the carb. I was hoping to see the choke cable reattached.
thank you so much ,you have been a great help to me
Thank you for watching!
BTW, that was a lot of work. Most of the cheap briefcase like smaller generators are not viable for recoil repair.
I have a little ryobi briefcase genny and I’m not looking forward to it needing repairs. That thing is way more compact (difficult to access).
How did you disconnect the fuel shutoff valve? You skipped that.
I couldn’t find the screw in the middle so I cut it off, wasps had filled the middle hole tight.
Thanks for the video!
Using this thing all the time!
Yep. Thanks 4 this.
No problem!
How did you get the front assembly with the receptacles off?

i like how he skips the part i came for
What are you looking for
