I love my outback oven! I have both the 6 inch and the 10 inch set. You can still get pieces of the set, but Backpackers Pantry is no longer making the oven. Too bad it is a great product. All of my initial baking was done with an outback oven. Now that I am going more into the ultralight realm, I don't take it on the trail as often as I used to. I still will take it when it is a shorter trip. This fry bake technique is not as good, but it is much faster and much lighter.
The nice thing about this recipe, is that it is easy to make at home as well! You can do the same thing with any fry pan on your stove. Try it out! Very tasty and fast!
I used cheddar for this pizza, but really you can use just about anything. I also like to bring individually wrapped string cheese. Or you can mix the two! I like the stronger flavor of the cheddar. Enjoy!
@@ariesmusicangel Cheese is pretty good at keeping, even in the summer. I have taken cheddar on a five-day trip and wrapped in cheesecloth. I just bury it deep in my pack during the day. The string cheese that is individually wrapped, can last a pretty long time too. I would be comfortable for a week. Especially if I kept it insulated during the heat of the day. Enjoy!
About to go hiking, going to try this recipe, THANKS!!!!
It is a good one! Have fun! Let me know how it goes for you.
That looks good and fun to make on the trail.
Super easy and REALLY tasty! Try it out and let me know how it goes for you.
Nice video. I'm not sure if it's still sold, buy I have an old Outback Oven. Makes great pizza, but it's kind of a hassle.
