Scaffel Pike Piers Gill Route from Wasdale Head

The Piers Gill Route up Scafell Pike is quite challenging and includes some grade one scrambling as well as actual rock climbing. It is not for the faint hearted. If you are not an experienced mountain hiker, it is possibly best to choose a different route. Unless you have rope and tackle and know how to use it do not attempt to come DOWN the Piers Gill Route.
Scafell Pike is the highest mountain in England and this year Mel & I have climbed Snowden the Highest Mountain in Wales and Ben Nevis, the Highest Mountain in Scotland.

Thanks for that. Great memories from 2013. I went up via hollow stones and down via Piers Gill. I'll never forget it 👍

Definateley a tough climb and descent David, keeping away from the "Tourist" routes makes it more exciting and a little scary in places...
