  • In this episode we meet Roz. Her uplifting story about experiencing challenging perimenopause symptoms while managing other major health concerns will give you hope and inspiration.
In Roz’s case, an early hysterectomy to treat severe endometriosis threw her directly into menopause. She lived with excruciating joint pain and other common symptoms of the menopausal transition, seeking help when necessary and doing what she had to do in order to continue living her life with minimum disruption.
Roz continues to meet menopause face on, refusing to let it control her life, despite ongoing surgeries and treatment for breast cancer. Roz’s story about keeping her focus on the positives, including her family, will help support you on your menopause journey.

Thank you for making this video. I had a bilateral salpingo - oophorectomy (BSO) when I was 25. The doctors found out I had endometriosis during that surgery. Its 12 years later and I'm finally on HRT that seems to be working and helpful for my whole body. I appreciate your video because it brings light to a condition many women go through but don't always have a lot of support for or even understanding about what happens next. This woman's experience gives me some additional ideas to speak about with my doctor. Thank you again !

I just found this. I am 54 and almost 4 years post surgery. I would love to get a group of us to create a podcast.
Not much out there for us who cant have hrt also. Menopause isnt spoke about much, let alone surgical radical menopause.

Hysterectomy does NOT put you in surgical menopause, unless both of your ovaries has been taken out also, which means you had a hysterectomy plus BILATERAL SALPINGO-OOPHORECTOMY and it’s the latter that has put you in surgical menopause.

Thanks for your clarification. You’re correct we should not be using the term ‘surgical menopause’ to describe the video content. We appreciate your feedback.

@dafnic1561 The turbulent journey of midlife often catches most women off guard, leaving them clueless about the profound changes their health undergoes. Both mentally and physically, these shifts present real challenges. It's no wonder that anxiety and depression levels have skyrocketed, leading to alarming suicide rates. We genuinely appreciate your insightful comments on this pressing matter. Together, we can shed light on midlife women's health challenges.
