Good days and bad. 5 years in pain. 1 in 10 women. #Endometriosis
Endometriosis is so much more than painful periods. For me, it was daily pain that prevented me from sleeping, eating, hanging with friends, and even work sometimes. It was being the one in the group who is shamed for not being able to have gluten, dairy, sugar for fear of flaring up symptoms. It was not being able to enjoy a drink with friends without guilt or an excuse plan. It was being the annoying friend who had to stop every hour on a road trip to go pee. It was screaming at the top of your lungs when someone tells you the pain is in your head. It was avoiding group trips for fear I’d have a flare up that would leave me in bed. It was waking up with the equivalent of a stomach bug every day for 5 years. It was not being able to sleep for nights on end from pain that radiated from my low back to my toes and fingers. It was being ignored by doctors for 5 years. It was telling my fiance we might not be able to have kids. It was asking for a sick day at work for the 10th time this year. It was talking to my boss about a potential medical leave because I was in so much pain.
That was my endo experience, but it’s different for everyone. Unexplained pelvic/low back pain (especially but not limited to your period), bladder & bowel issues are the warning signs although you can only have one of these symptoms and still have endometriosis. I share my story in hopes of helping anyone who finds themselves in the same boat. Reach out to me before you spend the next 5 years in pain like I did. To fight endometriosis, you truly have to be your own advocate.

“It hurts to breathe.” True words.
I’m super excited my surgery date is December 22nd. I saw the surgeon in July and finally scheduled. My mri confirmed I have deeply infiltrating. I’m just so happy to know I have it and excited for some relief soon. I thought I was going crazy there for awhile. I feel all those emotions as well. Finally getting answers at age 34 and been dealing with this since I was 10.
wishing you well on your surgery
I have surgery December 5… I’m scared but more excited for all this to be over… wishing you a great surgery and recovery…. Let me know how it went
WOW 😳 what's deeply infiltrating? That sounds scary! How did your surgery go and how are you feeling? I don't have endometriosis. I have uterine fibroids, (supposed to have adenomyosis) and a little bleeding ovarian cyst 😱😭
I'm sorry that you've been suffering for 24 years, I know it's not easy. I've been having the epic heavy periods resulting in chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and iron deficiency for 14 years.
I'm going to set up a myomectomy surgery for mid April hopefully. I can't decide between minimally invasive or the open surgery, which is more thorough and longer down time.
You are an angel! I’m having a surgery for fibroids as well as my doctor is going to check / look at endo stuff. I am gonna use your checklist and adapt. Thank you for this! This is invaluable.
I love your lists and checklist and recipes for smoothies.. thank you
Thanks for sharing your story and your detailed surgery prep list resource. You're a gal after my own heart--highly prepared! ❤️
I have to get a myomectomy to remove uterine fibroids. I don't have endometriosis as far as I know but this is still super duper helpful as I prepare, research and set things up for myself.
Thank you for posting this with the Endo Surgery Plan! My surgery is on 4/20/23 and I'm very nervous / excited!!
Thank you for posting this! So comforting as I’m preparing for this surgery!
You’re going to do great 💓
Thank you so much for sharing your story and your checklist! I told my recovery nurse about the checklist and she wished everyone used it, as I was very prepared. Thank you again!
I'm so glad it helped you :)
I suffered from the pain from endometriosis for years and did not know it. I went in to have surgery and it was found.
Thank you so much for sharing this, I’ve got my surgery tomorrow and this is so helpful ❤️xx
You’re going to do great and feel so much better 🤗❤️🍾
I did the exact same thing. Cleaned all the sheets, etc. Have a new comforter.
Thank You so much for A-Z Info!!!!
You and all of us endo women are so strong. Also, Todo is adorable ❤️
Hysterectomy
What?
Did you had hysterectomy
No dear not as of yet. I'm quite young for it, and a hysterectomy might not solve my other problems anyways. But maybe I might go on a pill to stop my period altogether though
Thank you for sharing 🙏🏻
Happy to!
Toto is also the cutest!!!
I’m having surgery this Friday I’ve never had surgery and I’m scared this has been the most mentally draining months and I just pray I will feel better afterwards
I just had my second laparoscopy Thursday, totally know this feeling. I found my surgeon on Nancy's Nook as well.
I hope it went well! 💓
@@juliaschuller2012 it did, he found a lot my first surgeon a non nook dr missed, I wish I did my research before.
Who was your Nook surgeon? Are you still happy with your excision surgery?
Content on point.
🥺
I get the cold thing too
I always pop magnesium citrate in the freezer to get really really cold and I get the lemon flavor and sip some sprite while downing it. Makes it kind of like a lemon lime type of experience lol
Great tip!
Your Endometriosis surgery vlogs have helped me no end, thankyou. I'm due in for mine 25th May 23.
I wanted to ask though, what breed is Toto lol. He's just gorgeous. I had to let my dog go very sadly due to my ill health :( xxxx
toto is the ultimate packing partner and i love him
Hahaha he makes everything more fun tbh
Yes Toto, just like my dog.
I'm Amish and got a kick out of how you thought you looked Amish or Mennonite in the long gown😊 I'm also going for Endo surgery soon and your video was helpful.
lol! Was I right or way off? Glad I could help :)
My left kidney has felt rather suffocated. Confirming endo in 4 weeks though yay!
I'm so glad that people like you are doing this. I am in for my second lap tomorrow and it helps so much. Also, word of caution... My EWCM comes 4 days BEFORE my ovulation and I got preggo when charting like you did. So do temp as well! :) Wishing you lots of love and sending pain free vibes!
You're so sweet! Thank you for the heads up!! I'm still getting the hang of charting, so this is great to know.
Pleasure! It was a happy accident, but I was completely thrown by it, so felt I should warn you! 💛
@@gemmavanrooyen1668 appreciate it :)
So it does take 2 weeks for recovery? My surgery is on November 3rd. I'm excited and nervous and scared.
Great day everyone want to say a big thank you to Dr Mabosa on UA-cam 12years of PCOS gone and ENDOMETRIOSIS gone!! they told me i won't be able to conceive right now I'm pregnant 😊soon to be a mother 😍 after years of pain and hurt.....
In the hospital right now after laparoscopic surgery.
Hoping you have a quick recovery! Remember to take deep breaths even if it hurts to breathe to avoid atelectasis.
My surgery is in 8hrs!!! So nervous but ready to get this over with lol
How did it go?!
@@juliaschuller2012 pretty well they did end up removing one of my fallopian tubes because the Endo was so bad
@@ryleighkate3505 wow thats crazy 😳
Glad you are okay!
How many days take to recover?
What symptoms do you experience if you don’t mind me asking? 💖
How are you doing right after getting your Endometriosis surgery jullia)
Is your pain better now
not completely, but much better
How much magnesium citrate did you have to drink ? How does it taste
It tasteless me, adding sea salt helps with the taste.
@@itsagoodday2165 wow 😯
I’m kinda nervous to drink it for mines
@@starlovesyouu you will be fine. It’s a one time thing in a sense before surgery. I did a gall bladder cleanse which is why i had to drink it. Sea salt right after it help me tremendously
@@itsagoodday2165 thank you
