Menopause Mood Swings - Rage, fury, and other intense emotions that made me feel out of control.

  • In this episode we meet BE. BE entered into menopause after having had a hysterectomy to remove fibroids. She was unprepared for the abrupt start of her symptoms, particularly severe hot flashes as nobody had mentioned that surgically induced menopause can make symptoms more extreme.
BE also experienced intense mood swings and scared herself on at least one occasion when she succumbed to road rage and literally ‘lost her mind’ for about 5 minutes before regaining some control.
BE sought help for her symptoms, and she finally found relief with an acupuncturist who helped her resolve some of her pain and her mood swings. BE is now through the worst of the menopausal transition and is very content, living her free life and finally at peace with her body.
    Mood Changes & Rage
No, you are not “going crazy” although there is something to the saying that “it’s all in your head”… menopause can be accompanied by a slew of emotional changes, including mood swings, sudden anxiety or rage and depression. These are interlinked with hormonal changes, hot flashes and sleep problems. Often these swings make you feel like your personality is changing during menopause.

My anger outbursts are equally strong and destructive. Not one of my Doctors ever suggested my anger was menopause related. I needed therapy. I needed to change my diet. I needed to take supplements. Meditation, getting spiritual, and so on. I threw my dyson down the stairs, vaulted a floor fan across the room, ripped kitchen cabinet doors off, and my fav is slamming doors. Listening to this was comforting and to know it wasn’t “just me” experiencing this. 11:24
Hot flashes? No, infernos. Every 30 minutes. Day and night. Job interviews, dates, and other occasions where you just want to hide are so difficult to endure with a smile.
I cannot be on HRT due to having DVTs and PEs almost dying 3x. I am 60 and have been in menopause now for 15 yrs. My aunt went through it until her 70’s.
So many times i winder why I came into this life as a woman and experience this.
Thank you for sharing. Truly, so helpful.

I am 50 years old and really suffering. It’s horrible 😢 I have road rage and anxiety. I want to literally smack all the bad drivers 🙈 I have severe depression and irritability. I’m angry with everything. I don’t think that this decade of my life is for perimenopause and menopause it’s a waste of time and life. This sucks and not fair. I want my life back. We can’t go back to this era and I want to enjoy this chapter of life. There has to be a better solution. I pray HRT will solve these symptoms 🙏🏼

I used to be an ultramarathoner until menopause stole me hormones and energy and motivation. I told my doctor about all of my symptoms , weight gain, bloating, depression, fatigue, and she said I can’t help you with that, you’ll need to go see someone else. I said duck it . Getting old sucks and people suck .

Thank you for tuning in and sharing your thoughts. Perimenopause can truly be a life changer. I'm genuinely sorry to hear that your doctor did not offer the support you needed. Unfortunately, many doctors don't have the necessary expertise in treating menopausal symptoms. It's crucial to find a doctor who is willing to help and offer effective solutions to help you regain your health. Many women unnecessarily suffer through this period. We appreciate you sharing your experience, and we sincerely hope you find relief from your symptoms soon!❤️

Thank you for your candor about your experience with surgical induced menopause. I myself did not have surgical induced menopause but my SIL has and she is struggling. I myself am in perimenopause and it is a nightmare. I feel like I am going crazy! I am not the person I was and the smallest stressor is unbearable. I appreaciate this video and I will share this information with my SIL.

Finally we are talking about this. When I started to go through menopause I didn’t understand what was going on and I felt terribly alone. It is wonderful to hear stories like this, sharing information and also giving me the language to explain to others what I am experiencing.

Yep it’s strange how the medical and society are perfectly ok with women enlarging or reducing their breasts if they are too big but removing them it’s almost considered a crime.!!!!

Perimenopause refers to the stage when menopausal symptoms occur despite having regular periods. Officially, menopause is reached after 12 consecutive months without menstruation. It is common for most women to enter menopause before the age of 60. Let me know if you have additional questions.

I'm 60 and familiar with the struggles of menopause. Beware of doctors, some are worse than no doctor at all.
My mood swings began negatively affecting my life. So I made a major dietary change recently to try to help myself. Made an appointment with a Dr. to get blood work done so I could establish a baseline to check results and talk to a doctor about the dietary changes. He said no way was my diet part of my problem even though he never even asked about my diet. Refused to order the lab tests and insisted mind over matter was the answer to being out of control. He wanted to prescribe antipsychotics even though he said my mind was working rationally. He also touched me inappropriately. Yes, I reported him to police, medical board and facility administrator. Now I have all the same problems I started with and am dealing with my reaction to his behavior and have to drive much farther to find a different doctor. So not right...

@@AuntieAnneArky-td6fq Wow, I seriously cannot belive your Doctor was like that with you. There are no nice words for him to be fair. After seeing how good Be looks for 60 I'm seriously considering becoming Vegan. I need to change my Docs too and want to see if I can find a female Doctor.I hope you managed to find someone decent and who respects your voice.
