A lot of people asking how to clean when the system requests service. This is only to descale. Internal should be cleaned at least monthly of coffee grinds that build up. As far as descaling you will take the descaling packets given with your machine and pour one pack contents into water reservoir. Holding the power button and the small cup button simultaneously while the device is on and hold will activate cleaning mode. Get a container and place it under frothed and spout with bottom tray removed. Press the small cup to begin cleaning after pouring water into the reservoir. Be sure to have two containers because the moment you add more water it will immediately start the process so always have something under both nozzles. Repeat process a dozen or more times adding fresh water each time. Yes a dozen times. It takes a while but take the time to do other tasks and add water when needed. Towards the end try some of the water to make sure it does not have any odd taste and your good to go! Not thoroughly cleaning and tasting the water at the end can result in one bitterly gross cup of coffee! Be patient and repeat the steps!
We have one of these machines. we have found that compared to the semi-auto machine we also have the espresso is very weak and watery and have no way of improving this.. Its a shame as its a nice looking machine.
