I use noname Silky for prunning fruit tree branches. It works good for me. It is Zubat like style - so this is why I like Zubat more from other models. Curved blade and dent at the top for safety is good option.
Thank you for this artistic and packed with good energy lumberjack videos.
    Keep going.

    Nicely presented video.
I’ve got an orange & black fold up pull cut pruning saw made by BAHCO which was made in Sweden. I bought it about 25 years ago and it has served me well but is now starting to loose its edge & sharpness on the cutting teeth.
I’ve been looking at replacing it with a Silky because they look good & everyone seems to go for them. I’m definitely ready for a good new replacement pull saw (pruning saw).
A new Silky would be a real treat, and of course very special too if it came from you.
Nice to see your selection & thanks for demonstrating how to change the blade on the Silky saw too. I hadn’t realised that you could replace the blades on a Silky as well. That’s a nice bonus for them also.
I’m a relatively new subscriber & I’ve enjoyed all of your videos so far.
It’s very refreshing to see a beautiful female lumberjack who is so enthusiastic about what she is doing. It’s great to see you enjoying it all so much too. I love the way you are happy & smiling , and you clearly have a good sense of humour. You are very knowledgeable and thank you for passing on your knowledge to us all so nicely too.

i have seen so many videos about those silkys, but havent ever tried. i have "fantasized" having own little firm that does yardwork for people who have summer homes here (2 huge lakes with in 10km from where i live), all from cutting trees, forrestry, moving etc stuff. after 2 years out from work life (depression and health issues, did just easy forrestry work for friends/family with out cost, and tryid to enjoi something (forrest)) i just bought new saw (echo) and starting to come around, still long way to go to that dream. Greetings from finland!

Ever since i had a notice from my city to have my pine trees pruned to clear the overhead powerlines. Ive had an itch to climb trees, ive been watching many youtube arborists and learned how to make various friction hitches. But never tried too climb myself. So i got in a professional arborist to prune them. I watched how he didt it and asked him if i could have a go at it. He agreed gave me some climbing basics and safety advice. And so i went off into the great sky's 😄 ever since that moment i knew i wanted to be an arborist. So now i am going to go get my etw certificate ( 3 years of school ) but i am looking forward to it. 👍

I have a couple Sugoi & Gomtaro saws, use the Sugoi for removals & the Gomtaro for prunings. I like to keep them well cleaned, for there can be much drag resistance when pitch accumulates on the sides. Keeping them clean helps prevent cross contamination of fungus & other pathogens between trees, especially when pruning. Helps to use both hands when possible to limit whacking yourself or your gear upon the thru cut. When usiing just one hand on the grip, have to slow way down on the last thru cut strokes. Every time I whacked myself, it was using one handed grip.

I enjoy your videos and part of them when your showing off items. This one especially is favorable to me as in the silky. I subscribe to a channel about canoeing in Canada. Our group of fishermen recently started going north to northern Ontario for fishing. Needing a saw I will always take whatever I have which is changing because I never get around to ordering a silky. Winning a cv silky would have a very great effect on our northern experience. When we’re portaging into other lakes or just going down a trail a silky would be great to have. I obviously would also take it cutting wood back on the property while cutting. Pruning trees on our property would be great with a silky. Well as you can tell I really enjoy your channel and the information you give out. I would really love winning a silky. Keep up your good work with your channel it’s very informative. Thanks. Todd Corl.

I have been using the silky subat for 2 years now and i love it. now that I'm working for a company that we don't use chainsaws everyday but we're in trees everyday that I've been using it just about every tree I'm in and it is such a great length. Lately I have been using the silky zubat handle with a Forester blade on it because it has the same profile and length and it has just a tad bit of more of aggressive tooth pattern to it but it's not as brittle as the silky zubat blades but I love the silky brand and many times it has drone blood 🤣🤣🩸🩸🩸. Love your content keep up the good work.

Yeah I really love my silky saws.
I sent a email to vitorinox R&D devision recommending they use silky saws on there pocket knives.
Btw the chunkiest scar I have is from one if my silky's. A huge spider dropped on my arm & I shat myself & swiped it away with my silky. Bad move , each tooth left a hole the size of a large pea . I should have got stiches, but I didn't & now I have chunky raised scars. Yep these things could seriously hurt you if you get complacent. Thanks for the video.

I also use the silky zubat for new tree pruning out in Oregon! Always on my side when we are doing pruning days. The sugoi is excellent for extricating a pinched bar on occasion!

Yeah I have the sugowaza ( pirates saw ) That's my most used one .
I have the gomboy 240 curved medium tooth blade, pocket boy extra fine & the katanaboy 650 as well. These bunch of saws can do everything around the yard.

Thank you for the review. I now realize that I need a saw like that for the pruning of my fruit trees! My small battery driven chainsaw is fast, but probably not so good for the trees😀

I recently picked up a Silky Big Boy folding saw for use in clearing trails where we cannot drive in with my Stihl chainsaws, PPE, etc. if I didn’t have to carry in a pack and walk miles to fallen trees I’d have gotten a fixed blade with a sheath. Haven’t bled yet but am waiting!! Thanks for the demo and congratulations on 20K subscribers!
P.S. An idea for consideration: you could announce winners at the end of a future video.

Congratulations on reaching this UA-cam milestone . In my humble opinion you are absolutely correct there is nothing like a silky. I’m a hedge layer and always carry a straight tsurgui on my belt it’s perfect for getting into those tight spaces. Plus depending on the job I’d have my Sugoi on my leg, and yes it is does interfere with my knee sometimes . As for the blood, I think it’s like a Gurkha thing almost every time there’s blood. Please keep up the channel it’s great. Best regards Garry.

The outtakes are a nice touch too, BTW.
