This video is really useful I’ve been wanting to replace my delaminated key fob for ages - I’ve used super glue in the past but it’s not the best method and still untidy. Thanks for the upload.
Nice work and nice choice of colour on the safety rag ;). Sorry, I prefer the old shape, more rounded. Not as if I use the key buttons at all tbh. But good to see the exercise. cheers.
Great video, one question, did you test the new case if it starts the car by putting it on the bottom part of the dash board near the boot button incase the remote battery dies? There is a specific square shape area to place the remote to start the car.
The old key fob for the jag XE looks identical to the old F type key fob … so i assume I could could upgrade the old XE key fob with the new key fob too ..?
Mate, if I send you mine will you do it for me? That looked like a lot of hard work for very little return. I'd be guaranteed to eff it up lol! I like the embossed "Jaguar" in the old key so I think I'll keep that.
Maybe i'm the only one but i think that the new key feels cheaper. I've had them on a 2023 sport and then tried the older Key when i switched to an ftype. I definitely prefer the ftype ones
Nice video! in my point of view, I don’t find any reason to have a “bulkier” key! :) Question (btw): if you press and maintain the lock button with the windows down, will the windows come up? Because in my car, they stay down for safety reasons as they say… :( grrrr
Yeah, I see where you’re coming from. It’s marginally larger and for me, it’s a key that won’t delaminate in 9 months to a year. Yes, pressing the lock or unlock will actuate the windows 👍🏻
@@MrGB_UK thanks for the feed back! Mine is being built based on the Canadian safety specifications and therefore will not allow you to close the windows using the key. I wonder where I can find someone to change the pin programming for me (in Greece, the dealership tried without a result). Anyway, thanks!
I wish that Ian Callum's team had added a spot on the center console or somewhere else to place the key in my F-Type. Guess it should stay in my pocket, but it invariably gets place in the cup holder. There is a weird open space next to the gear shifter with no purpose that would have been perfect.
That’s probably where the rag top control switch would go if needed. You’re right though, wish the coupe models had a slightly deeper blank to set the key in.
Nice job👍🏻 Any reason why you haven't disclosed where you got the new case. I'd like to know where to get one from in the uk, is it just a cheap amazon/ ebay item, or did you get it from the main stealers.
You really didn't even need to connect the old key to the new key the way you did you could have just slid it in the spot put the cap back on and in an emergency it would be there you would just have to use something to hold it to turn it 14:55
Possibly - however I didnt wan't to be caught with a flat battery and then need to find something (such as pliers) to operate the key with. For the sake of 10 mins effot max. I was able to have the key fully functioning and not have to worry about it in the future. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I love that copper trim-sorry off subject lol

Love the obsession for detail. Congratulations.
That was actually quite brilliant
Thanks!

Pointless modifications are what the viewers want 🎉🎉
Great video, thanks for sharing.
Nice work!
I have a white 2017 couple and I love the color. But this grey with the accents you've added looks amazing. What's this color (colour) called?
Glad to see you successfully did it without getting too 'Fobbed' off 😆
🤣 Badum-tish 🤣
@@MrGB_UK do you have a link to where you got the new key fob?
New F Type 2024 has the previous key which is actually smaller slimmer better - sometimes things just aren't worth doing 😊

Love it. Well done

Where did you get the new key bodies ? , do you have a link ?
Fair play, good work on your part, but for me, l will stick with my old key!
Great video for a pointless mod lol. I like your style. When you sell your car I'd buy it
Great video! I will be this with my key fobs 😊 what year is your f type?
This is a 2018 car. Thanks!
Nice job👍🏻

Thanks! No reason at all. This one was from AliExpress, and a fraction of the price of an OEM part, with little to no difference in quality
Thanks for the reply, much appreciated 👍🏻
I have a new key but Not a Logo , where did you get yours?
what if you lost the inside key, but still have the inside key from spare fob, can it be duplicated?
Great job! I’ve always thought the key quality is a disgrace for a car pushing £100K 👍
Do you have a link for where you got the new key?
Top pointless mod, love it! 👍 If you don't mind me asking, how much was the new empty case?
Even the new phase 3 F-Type got the older style key fob
ชอบที่สุด❤❤❤

The new key looks so plain and boring.

Totally pointless I can use my mobile phone and a app downloaded it starts all keyless cars I have have fun starting cars for a laugh
