I don't think I've ever seen anyone who appears to love what they're doing as much as Tommy. An amazing guitarist, of course, but also just a beautiful spirit.
He truly loves what he's doing. I've seen him play to a packed house of thousands, and I've seen him spend an hour teaching a little kid back stage how to play basic notes and chords. In my book he's the best guitar player ever. The only thing he's better at is being a human being. The guy is super humble, nice, down to earth and always has the time to sign autographs, talk guitar/music/ or whatever else you want to.
The thing is, all this is stored in his brain. I'm hard pressed to recall Three Blind Mice which is basically a 3 note composition. I'm coming back as Tommy's hands...simply from another planet. I'm so glad I saw him live in concert.
The difficulty factor in what he just played...and the flawless precision...is beyond description. How would you describe it? How can someone be that good?

Man, oh man! What a tour de force. I’ve seen Tommy live four times and he never seizes to amaze me. His sense of rhythm is just out of this world. If you want to learn to play the guitar learn to be a great drummer with rock solid time and feel first. In about 30 years of practice for 10 hours a day with the drums, you should be getting ready to maybe start learning stuff on the guitar. :)

This is all in standard tuning. He usually switches guitars if he needs Drop D or G6th tunings which are his other two go to tunings. Most of of the time he's just in standard though. Just uses chords and voicings that are unfamiliar to the average player.
Have seen him in performance, clearly the greatest living guitarist.
