- I Can't Believe MY Ventrac Dealer Did THIS to Me When the Ventrac Engine Blew Up While Mowing an Overgrown Lawn! I still can't believe Crossroads Lawn & Garden (Benton, KY) did this to me when the Vanguard engine on my Ventrac 4500K blew up. What do you think about this? Did they do the right thing? To be fair the only reason why the dealer provided you with that level of customer service is because you area UA-camr with followers. I would not get that kind of customer service 😢
I get what you are saying. I’m sure that probably happens often. I think these guys are different though. Always trying to help their customers out.
Upgrade to the 4520 Kubota gas, or the Kawasaki. Briggs blowing up with less than 500 hrs. on it?? Time to upgrade.
It may be time to make the switch. Not only did it blow up with less than 500 hours on it, but it's the second time under 500 hours. 🤦♂️ The 4520Z and 4520P look better and better now...
The one you have shouldn’t have blown a head casket this quickly. I would upgrade to this one but I’m not sure if the price difference.

The 4500Z is sweet! One day I hope to upgrade to the 4520N! Really enjoyed running the Kubota. Is that what you use?
@@TheLawnCareLifeinMowssouri Yes I bought the 4500Z. My dealer was about 3k$ difference in the 4500N to the Z and they said 90% of what they sold were Z's.

Crossroads would be my "Up Home" dealer if I owned a Ventrac, it's hard to justify one of these for personal use. I've studied this equipment for a while now and the "Z" would be the one for me personally. When you said "did to me," I was concerned, glad it all worked out!

That is a personal preference. Personally I would prefer to have the diesel, but if the gas engines are doing it as well. Hard decision.

Love the air freshener hanging from your mirror.👍 Don't they make one with the Kubota diesel? If so, that would be my choice. Make the upgrade either way if you can as the LQ engines sure last a long time of taken care of.
Awesome! #GodProvides☝️ They do make the 4500Y/4520Y with the Kubota Diesel engine. I hear a lot of good things about that engine. Sounds like it is bulletproof for the most part. I know it would last longer than 450 hrs with two blown heads lol. Appreciate your feedback. Definitely need to start looking seriously at my options moving into this season. I need something reliable and something that can handle these jobs that I'm tackling. Thanks again for taking the time to watch!
@@TheLawnCareLifeinMowssouri Maybe get yours repaired and get a CUT of some sort with a cab? for brush hogging large fields with a12-15" batwing? Good resale value and implements are less money than the Ventrac's are in most cases. I've owned three now, but none with a cab. I sure would like a cab, especially up here in MI in the winter.

Less than 250 hours the first time. Less than 400 hrs the second time. Thanks for watching!

A good dealer is priceless. I hope they get all the business they can handle. Too many don't understand customer service anymore. For what it's worth my nearest dealer (San Antonio, looking to buy one hopefully around August or September) wont even sell a ventrac with the vanguard engine.
This DEALER is number one for sure! They always do a great job getting my machine back up and running. Excellent service. I heard that Ventrac only puts a Vanguard engine in like 1% of the Ventracs out there lol. I thought it would hold up a little longer, but I guess it's just not built for this type of work. Hoping to upgrade in the future, but these things are pretty expensive. Keep me updated when you get your Ventrac. Which engine you going with?
The diesel. I intend to keep it for a long while and I can fix engine issues myself and bother my 1025r and 455 are diesels too.

Mr Bluecord. Did you ever blow a head gasket on yours? This guy said he blew the head gasket twice, once at 250 hrs and this time was 400 hrs? What would cause this? Overheating?
With the thousands of hours I have on my machines, I have never blown a head gasket. I won't speculate on what caused the failure in this case since I did not personally look it over @@johnevans6053

Get the diesel. So much more power especially in thick heavy grasses
Typically Diesel has more power, but these engines under 25hp don’t have the power that a Kubota gas engine does. I like the idea of diesel though.

Just go diesel petrol is no good for what your doing

@@TheLawnCareLifeinMowssouri happy new year to you to mate what you should try to do is demo a diesel then do a big job with your petrol see how much it cost and demo a diesel on a big job see on the fuel savings you wont get the same high hours out the petrol that you will on diesel engines
@noelcahill6707 absolutely. I would love to demo one someday. With the new 4520N Kubota gas EFI, it would be interesting to see the difference in fuel savings compared to the Diesel engine. I’m not sure if there’s that much of a difference between the two?

Yes sir. Second time the Vanguard engine has blown. It actually happened a year apart. Should I switch to the Kubota gas engine next time around?
@@TheLawnCareLifeinMowssouri why not go for the efficient diesel??... longer service life... you should try one out.. they can still be used on slopes but not for the same duration
@golfy808 they had the 4520Y with Diesel engine there at the Ventrac dealer. Everyone says it’s underpowered compared to the Kubota gas engine, but I would really like the reliability! It’s a proven engine and a known workhorse.

Cameron, if your considering upgrading, go with kubota diesel. I have one on my little tractor plus had on 2 of my grasshopper mowers and seem to be bullet proof. Just my thoughts.
