    This was profound!
Mark Thank you! for asking the questions about how someone who isn't sure about what happened to them could be considered assault. As I was watching this I started wondering if an experience I had when I was 21 was truly consensual or not. I'm excited to read Joice's manual to dive deeper into this.
    What incredible women!

An extremely important mission. CAN needs more support from states all across America. Listen to this whole podcast and learn not only about “consent” but how you can help.

A question that comes into my mind as a woman who was an adolescent girl during the late 60's to mid 70's is difficult to express but begging to be answered, or more accurately, addressed. It wasn't that long ago that we stepped into female sexual freedom when the pill was legalized. I was around 16 and a complete deer in the headlights when all the guardrails came off and we were turned loose to fend for ourselves in a male dominated world. When were we taught to say no when the whole idea was to take off the shackles of sexual inequality and say yes? It's so confusing. I am happy to see that this rule book is finally having it's day in the light but unless we go back into our history, the picture is not complete.

WOW! Maybe your best interview yet. Lots to learn from Joyce & Nina. This video deserves to be widely seen and I hope it is.

The first time I went to college in the 90's, all the girls in the dorms were required to take a 30 minute session where they talked about how to avoid dangerous situations, like not letting someone drug your drink or always have a friend with you at a party. It was good info, but only the girls were given it, and it didn't even talk about what consent was. The boys were not required to attend the same type of class.
When I went back to school, 8 years ago, they had so much more info, and required every student to take it, not just girls living in dorms. It was around 5 videos, about 15 minutes each. It showed silly sketches of the concepts, but it was so much more informative. It actually went into the fact that if a woman consents to one thing she didn't consent to everything for the rest of time. It is ok for a woman to say stop in the middle of the act. Men can be raped also.
I know this newer approach didn't show everything, but compared to the joke we were given in the mid 90's, it is so much better. Just the fact the men and boys are also required to watch this information is important.

With the recent Crystal Mangum Duke University confession in the news I look forward to listening to this podcast. That brought up a lot of questions about the "He said, she said" issue.

Finding out my husband had a secret life means I was sexually assaulted 100’s of times. How is a person supposed to process that 😞

Consent is when I have time to tell you what is wrong because you don't know.

Did you have Allison's consent when you filmed her and then sold the footage to HBO to use in your tv series? Did you have her family's consent, knowing that she was unable to make decisions for herself and that the footage was damaging to her and her loved ones?
Have you ever spent a second of your life thinking about how your terrible choices and poor judgement have harmed others?
Maybe take a good look in the mirror before pointing fingers. Tell Sarah the same goes for her.
