Hollywood actors and actresses have different levels of bankability and the most bankable performers will get the most opportunities. So as talented as Taraji and Viola are, they won't get the same number of opportunities as the most bankable stars do. People will always pay to see movies with stars they LIKE based on a plethora of personal preferences i.e., likeability, percieved physical attractivness, talent level, race, gender, etc. And these personal preferences will always vary among individuals of all races and genders. In summation, looking for and expecting there to ever be "equlaity" in Hollywood is pointless and impossible.
@@xman9190 All those things are subjective and depend on individual preference. Bankability is measured by earning potential. Taraji is very talented and she has been given opportunites to be the lead actress in multiple films like Proud Mary and I can Do Bad All By Myself. But those movies didn't generate enough money to make her an in demand Hollywood superstar. Consequently, she can't expect to be paid or offered a ton of leading roles like a superstar. Just like Woody Harrelson should never expect to be offered the same number of leading roles or money as Denzel Washington.
@amatrex That would make sense if Taraji was talking about leading roles and superstar money. She isn't. She's talking about being paid scale for roles she's actually had.
