How many times can u possibly say check your service manual? We are watching this because we don have a service manual. So just tell us what the torque spec is, or what the piston ring sequence should be.
The only comment I would make is don’t fast forward through your struggling with components. That gives the regular guy a better idea of what he’s getting into.

mine is 17 years old, hasn't even had 1 rebuild so far, good quality oil and ngk spark plugs. Recommend 10w-40
What type of oil do you run.? 10w40 what brand.
@@zforce800 I actually sold that bike haha, but I have always ran Amsoil 10w40 best stuff in my opinion!

its a complete pain , everytime i remove the sprocket the chain comes off the lower sprocket , and the flywheel has to come off to re-align it. you cannot set the timing marks without the chain coming off. an open valve cover , so you could at least grab the slack in the chain would of been much better

My son just ran his TTR 125 without OIL!!!! Problems Would this be a top end fix or bottom????

So I forgot my cylinder o-ring... my new top end rebuilt kit didn't come with one and I never noticed it on the old cylinder until after finishing the rebuilt. I've been running the bike for months since. What is the exact purpose of this o-ring? I ask because I just started doing performance work (exhaust, airbox mod, vm24 jetted carb) and have been having a very hard time perfectly tuning my machine. I'd assume its to keep your oil in the motor though I don't notice any oil leaking and there's a gasket already in place. Is this ring important and should I twist my own nipples again and face the hell of doing another tear down all for one missing o-ring?
The importance is compression and smoking your bike should not smoke like ac2 stroke😂
At what point did you adjust the valves ? Do you have a video showing how to adjust the valves ? Why didn't you show what the new compression read ?

Why didn't you check the compression at the end to be certain everything is good? Great video btw. When refitting, is there any chance the timing chain can come away from the sprocket at the bottom or is it kept in place on the lower sprocket by a close fitting guide?

On my 01 ttr 125 the fly wheel has an I looking mark and a dash which one should I line it up to to set timing

I did everything he did but my bike will not built enough compression to start the bike
Did you do any honing on the cylinder wall? I assume the rings you installed were new?
I just did the same thing to mine now it wont start. it was bought not running seem to have low compression that is why I did the top end. has new carb new plug. any idea what could be wrong?
Check for ignition.
sounds like the valves need re adjusted un less you put a hot cam in ? there tapping away . I have put a hotcam in my 440ex an the valves are set up right after i got it running I triple check them I even called hotcam them self cause they sounded like they were lose hear it turns out what I was hearing was the valves slaming shut on there seats cause of more lift on the cam lobe
Why do you not give ONE single spec out of the manual such as what the PSI range is, what the valves should be set at etc? Why also did you pull the bottom bolt from the engine and shut the camera off just prior to reinstalling the front left cylinder head bolt? I'll bet because you had to damn near remove the whole engine to get that damn thing back in and did not want to show that. The next shot shows it in and you then move the other side of the bike. Your video does not give us the complete info needed.

Is a gasket causing low compression normal on these bikes? I'm getting same bike and it has same problem, don't exactly have lots of money to throw around and just getting gasket would help

Once you pull apart.
New cylinder piston rings and gaskets are less than 40 dlls.
Next time list the specifications, and show how you set the timing... otherwise good vid
Did the cylinder wall have scoring as well? What did you do in that aspect?

can anyone give me some info on this - lets say im taking off on my ttr 125 it feels like its not fully engaging like the engine is going but the bike is lagging
Tighten the tensioner on the clutch same thing was wrong with mine
OMG I wanted to throw the whole engine across the room trying to get the cam chain back on the cam sprocket.. What a silly design.
place the chain around the sprocket and then feed both the chain and the sprocket up through the slide :) only way I was able to do it after hours of aggravation.
Use a screwdriver true the hole of timing sprocket
Rest the point of screwdriver in the head wall.
From there go up and down whit sprocket and chain until set.
How do you time a 2006 Yamaha ttr 125 I can get it timed but when I put the chain tensior in it pulls it to the right 1 tooth
Wesley Hally then set it one tooth to the left
When setting timing
must rotate engine against the clock.
Then you set your tensioner
Wile on time.
Don't ever close your timing cover before the tensioner.

@@hootnan1 there are 2 vetical lines with a line between them , these are the ignition timing marks, the 3rd line it TDC

Dose anyone would know y a ttr 125 01 head wpuld lock up i just put a new piston and jug on the motor but the head will not move any i need so help
Like the cam will not turn over it locks up I took it apart and rebuilt the cylinder head and everything looks in good condition but I put it back together the cam will not turn over like it locks up on the one of the value

While rebuilding our top end we forgot to put the chain guard back in the timing chain. Is that a huge deal?

You don't even mention which ring goes on top, what the clearances you have are supposed to be, etc...your guide will aggravate anyone building one of these.
