Who disliked this video??? and why? This is one of the best videos out there to help new drivers. Thank you David for taking time to make these videos. very helpful indeed.
Awesome video sir. I'm going to share this with my fellow truck driver students here at my CDL academy in Texas. I just graduated and got my class-A CDL license yesterday and have been practicing this maneuver at the yard. Thanks again for your time and effort.
This is brilliant, absolutely.. You guys have done an excellent job; your instructions are crisp, clear and to the point, while the angles displayed here are everything one could ask for.
Working towards my J Endorsement for RV and this is the one thing I know I'll have the most problem doing. Practice, practice, practice! Thanks for the detailed video. The multi camera work is great!
THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE MULTI-ANGLED INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO IHAVE EVER SEEN! If taking a video shot from underground was necessary, I feel you would have covered that also! What I also love is the steering wheel shot which you don't get in other videos! This is so great I think even Stevie Wonder would learn from watching this video. You are a Godsend for an instructor, keep it up! God strengthen you to carry on this excellent work!
Absolutely need that steering wheel shot to make the necessary movements make sense. That's exactly what I've been looking for to help me. As a new driver, backing is my Achilles heel. You definitely have earned my sub, and please continue with the quality videos. 👍
Tell you what, I've watched several of these videos by different authors, and this is the first one I was actually able to follow completely! Excellent job! Very well explained!
I just got my class A CDL. Not once did anyone show me how to use that "s curve" forward to set up in my training. This removes a lot of complications I was having! Thank you! I cant wait to try these techniques you're offering!
Nobody taught you the S curve?! Who did you get your license through? Man, I'm no expert (far from it) but I cannot imagine how difficult everything would be if I was never taught the S curve or Horseshoe.
Your skill to explain is amazing, never seen detailed video like it ever before despite always looked for. Thanks heaps. I am using your game app also, thanks for everything you a great trainer.
Thank you so much for your videos !!! Your videos are the best on UA-cam and you should have more followers !!! I don't know why you have dislikes on your videos but haters always going to hate. Thanks again.😀
My instructor taught me to pass two trailers and turn hard right and hold it a little bit and then turn hard left little bit and straight it and BOOM!!
David, you're on point with your videos. I would like to see a video of angled parking at the Truck Stop as well as Companies etc. I tried to angle back on the blind side & struggled like crazy. The yard jockey told me to just drop the trailer & he'll park it for me. I really need to learn this. Thanks
This video was great i was taught at school bottom of the wheel so sometimes i get confused but overall this gave me that courage i need for these docks when i start my job next week thanks brotha
Excellent video my friend and very skilled cdl driver I just got my cdl learners permit a month ago and get to practice backing up at my place of employment and I’m definitely going to keep these excellent tips in mind when I’m practicing backing up thank you
+Gaz Q will I hope so. I have a few 90 degree backing videos, so make sure you watch them all. Just rewatch them over and over. It couldn't hurt. I'm sure you'll get very up of my voice though ;-)
Best backing videos on UA-cam. My question is how do you know how far to go as you make the right and left turns ? When I try this, I am always a few feet too far from the hole I am aiming for. Great stuff. Keep them coming. .
WOW , great video, I was dreaming to find a video like this with multi-angle, and this video That I was lucky to find randomly is beyond my dream,s, you are a genius with this orchestration and explaining, million thanks, you deserve my like and Subscribe, great quality man, Best video ever., keep up the good work.
Got a request... This video reminded me of something I'd like to see you demonstrate. Can you do a video on parking in these angled parking spaces at some of these truck stops? While they seem 'straight forward' enough, they are often quite tight and difficult to see and line up. You often have trucks parked right in front of you and because they too are parked at an angle, your maneuvering space is irregular. Your camera rig is ideal for explaining and showing how to do it. Might I might further suggest you do it with truck on both sides of the space for which you are intending to park. Thanks
Didn't have to do this to pass the cdl test now im 11 days into training with an instructor on the road and he is not explaining anything right or teaching me anything so here I am getting my UA-cam education. Sad this is what I have to do but thanks for the video.
great content finally from all the angles I thought I was doing it wrong but needed just a quick hard jacknife,, what camera system do you use with front and side cameras ?
Hi Thank for your video Why sometimes when parking(backing up) We might see these yellow guidelines lopesided (crooked) instead of seeing them straight? Thanks in advance for replying me!
I'm going out for my first trip tomorrow to a grocery warehouse and am a tad nervous. Have you found that other drivers would be willing to help a struggling driver? I understand basic concepts, but I am a beginner and little tips and tricks are always good. I've been watching your videos a lot, so maybe it won't be an issue, but some days in training, a seemingly easy dock to get into caused me issues. I'm going to SuperValu in Anniston, AL.
In some of your videos when setting up 45 degree, you say turn the wheel all the way right that your parallel and then hard left n straighten your wheel, but in this video you didn’t do hard right when setting up , so it’s optional in some cases?
Hello sir thank you for your helpful video I want to know little adjustment when I Park the trailer in bay and if the back side of trailer is one side and front side of another side how to correct this please make a video on this. When I want to correct this the trailer go more bad position. I confused which side steering when go forward or back when do this adjustment. Thanks
I learned a old trick when it come to backing in tight spots. Basically it takes patience you basically come in Long start backing in a 45 get your tandems right next to the truck of the whole that you getting ready to go into the make sure that your trailer as a little bit away from it and I'll tell you why is he going to want to back you trailer by sliding your tandems towards the front at an angle little at a time that kind of maneuver it around from hitting your blind spot on the side where the truck you can't see I want you get enough tell swing to wear it's going to go in you pop the pin go back there and take a look and see where it's going can you continue your maneuver but again it takes patient and practice is it do it even had a blind spot backing and I learned that from an old school cat that's been driving since the early 70s you should show a tutoring of that if you know how to do it only for tight spots
Every time I back-up, when I press the gas, I have poor control of the pedal. The tractor bounces and it's embarrassing. I try to control it, but it hasn't panned out. I drive an automatic
When I pull forward to get out of the jackknife (so I don't continue turning into truck on the left) Do I turn right then straight to get into the angle, to start getting back into the hole?
Yes, turn the steering wheel all the way towards the side of the trailer you see the most off, In this case and most cases the left. If you are angled to the right then you should turn all the way to the right to chase.
@@MyTruckingSkills oh ok...thank you. I always feel like the trailer isn't going to angle into the spot when I do it. I feel like it's going to keep going towards the right side. Ive been overstearing 😣

+Raah Geer I really wish I knew. I want to know why as well. I want to ask him what I could have done better lol
Thanks David. Please keep up the great work.
They must have hit the wrong button
Probably a 4-wheeler, signaling one direction but turning another.
The editing on this is Godly....... Thank you Trucking Gods.....

Some truck schools refer to it as serpentine maneuver, it's basically the same thing
This is the best video(s) I have seen. Pure genius! I deleted all the others - Thank You!
Thank you SIr! You helped me learn to do the Alley Dock from this,,,,I am getting better. Down to just a pull up!

A "little bit" is not a unit of measurement.
Lol, that BOOM was you hitting one of the trailers next to your hole.
you r the best man i drove for 3 years driving after 2 years just got good idea from your video
Great to hear!
Excellent thank you very much.

A lot of it is knowing when to start chasing it and then you have short wheel base cab overs and long nose trucks
Thanks
Nice

Great video man.. I drive a spotter truck and you back a semi better than most of my coworkers with a yard truck.

How do you know when to start chasing? Slightly before your tires reach the inside yellow line?

Thank you because I’m still slightly struggling
Wow! High quality tutorial! You probably spent lots of time for making that video! Lots of cameras, wow
Ya, lots of cameras, hell of a time syncing them up and editing them. But the editing is the reason I made the videos, practice makes perfect.
Every time I back-up, when I press the gas, I have poor control of the pedal. The tractor bounces and it's embarrassing. I try to control it, but it hasn't panned out. I drive an automatic
I also think you should talk as well as show how you are turning the steering wheel at certain points.
Ya, I hear ya. I could probably do a better job.
When I pull forward to get out of the jackknife (so I don't continue turning into truck on the left) Do I turn right then straight to get into the angle, to start getting back into the hole?
Bravo, it's awesome man, are you 18 wheel instructor?
Who does your drone work. Very tricky!:) BTW I drive by your terminal everyday. I live right down the road and work for another local company.
I fly it. I throw it up in the air and it stays in the same place. I do my driving around under it and then for it back, wire simple really
@@MyTruckingSkills that's awesome man!

When you start to "chase it". Do you turn the steering wheel all of the way to the left?
Yes, turn the steering wheel all the way towards the side of the trailer you see the most off, In this case and most cases the left. If you are angled to the right then you should turn all the way to the right to chase.
@@MyTruckingSkills oh ok...thank you. I always feel like the trailer isn't going to angle into the spot when I do it. I feel like it's going to keep going towards the right side. Ive been overstearing 😣
If you found that you chased to late, stop and crank the steering wheel to the right and it will straighten you much sooner.
@@MyTruckingSkills im going to do that tomorrow , thank you. Waiting for your video game 😊
