I STILL think of the music from this game. From menu/lobby music, to the radio. This game was godlyyyyy
And to think Solar Crown will have 6 radio station, with each station having 10 hours worth of music and each has their own jingles and DJs. To me, acoustic immersion is really important, and I'm glad they're paying attention to that in Solar Crown.
No houses, wow.. they should have added houses. Houses were one of the best things in the game.
I'm assuming all the members of the team had a good sit down session meeting in a big office and discussed in what way to release the game as to have the community play it for longer and play a bit safer with their investment. Meaning that if they added absolutely everything we wanted from the old games there would be no differences and people would more than likely stop playing the game after a month or two due to completing everything and unlocking everything possible (ex. NFS Unbound). This way atleast they experiment with how the launch goes, play safe with their investment somewhat and then progressively add things from the old games and new content we desire, a smart strategy tbh that ends up keeping the community alive and growing by adding new content+that means more money in their pocket. TDU1 and TDU2 are fan favorites and are still being played to this day for that exact reason. Just my take on that.

I actually wanna play the game when it comes out! I also love Midnight Club LA which is another fun game. I personally like 2000’s games better than the newer ones.

Remember,this isn't a AAA title game with a AAA budget. I'm throwing my money on the biggest edition of the game because they deserve the support. The base game is 50 dollars, which is 20-35 dollars cheaper than most new games. If you don't show support don't even bother.

Test Drive has been around since the 80s. Unlimited 1 and 2 put it on the map.
Some of the KT Racing devs were formerly from Eden Games, the studio behind both TDU titles.
I used to watch my dad play these games on his playstation! This game looks like a sims but is fully interactive. Thanks for reintroducing this game for me, DCA! ❤❤

I'm an old school Test Drive gamer all the way back in the early days on Playstation where i played Test Drive games from Test Drive 4, Test Drive 5, Test Drive 6, Test Drive Off Road 3 on the original Playstation and Test Drive: Overdrive and Test Drive: Eve Of Destruction and Test Drive Unlimited on the Playstation 2. I play a bit of Test Drive Unlimited 2 back on the Playstation 3, It was enjoyable overall. Since i have my Playstation 5, I'm so looking forward to this game release day and see if it lives up to our expectations 13 years later. Bring on TDUSC! 🎮🚗💨

I’ve never played any of the Test Drive Unlimited (I only played Test Drive 5 on the PS1) but seeing everyone’s feedback and the reception of the newer games, I’m definitely gonna check this one out.
I definitely played TDU1 and it was SO relaxing and exciting in childhood. It’s just amazing to see Test Drive finally making a triumphant return!
Can't wait to see a semi-new car dedicated game be released outside of EA, Turn 10/Playground, or Gran Turismo that isn't a full on simulator. My only experience with Test Drive was with Test Drive: Ferrari Legends which was made by Slightly Mad Studios(makers of Project Cars 1 & 2) instead of the original team behind TDU & TDU2. The physics in that game were phenomenal as well as the graphics for the time, so I'm hoping that Solar Crown will be just as good or better than that.

Man I am so excited! I was so hyped when I found out that the official release date is just a few months away. I've spent so much time playing TDU and TDU2 in my childhood and the nostalgia kicks in only then I think about it. I don't blame the developers for not bringing the properties upon release, as long as they stick their plan and release them eventually. Hopefully the game will gain popularity and bring some revenue, which will help for the future updates. One think I REALLY hope that they focused on is the physics. That thing alone was driving me crazy in the older games, as the car was constantly spinning out of control and glitching when you jump with high speed.

I only ever played the PSP Test Drive Unlimited as a kid sadly but even that was mind blowing. Hopefully they do add the houses and then it'll be perfect. I love collecting cars, owning property and having all those small attention to detail things like the rolling down of windows and turn signals and just driving around. The more attention to detail there is the better, that is why TDUSC and GTA VI are the games I'm looking forward to the most lol

I just hope that the customization for the cars and player's characters will be worthy and nicely made though. I unfortunately don't have enough money to purchase either versions of TDU Solar Crown, so I might have to wait until the full release of the game comes out in September and I'll see what I can do from there.

For people wondering what that song is, it's called "I came Running" from Ancient Astronauts
as well as the song from the opening cutscene were you pick your character. tdu2 had the best soundtrack
also i wonder if they’re going to have more than one wrecked car you can unlock like you could in tdu2 because if i remember right they showed off a wrecked beetle in one of the promo videos so i wonder if it’ll just be the beetle or if there will be the cobra as well

Test Drive Unlimited is back!
Though I won't be getting it at launch as my rig isn't good enough.
I am currently playing TDU2 with the Project Paradise 2 mod on PC, now playing it more thanks to a new car pack mod I recently installed!
Great narration btw, speaking of narrative I would like to know if Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown will be available to play offline or will it be an always online kinda game. If it will be always online, it will be less free due to the unplayability of it without a subscription pass which is also one of the things I and many others dislike about GTA Online. Even the people who bought shark cards for GTA Online are stranded not being able to play GTA Online once their Online subscription expires.

Tdu and tu2, along with need for speed underground 1 & 2, have to be my overall child hood favourites. I can't wait for this to come out. I certainly will pre-order it on disc when possible.

I've never played TDU before. I've only played NFSU1 until Carbon, GTA 4 & 5, The Crew 2, and FH5. Might give this one a shot.
That was a brilliant game , i remember the ac 289 from first person i would drive around coast roads, i also remeber the radio stations were they played breakbeat, indie , ragae , back then it felt way ahead of its time but it lacked vareity in cars if i remember right
TDU2 was the 1st game ever in my life that made me stay my bad ass inside the house all day. Literally spent 10+ hrs almost every day playing
I really hope TDU Solar Crown has as good as a soundtrack as TDU2. I’ve seen, met and became a huge fan of Surfer Blood because of “Floating Vibes”, as well as seen Metric and Phoenix.
TDU series really walked so GTA could run. It’s an absolutely underrated game. Most of Test Drive games were. I just bought Test Drive 2002 for my PS2 last week, and all I can say is that I really miss Atari.

TDU1 was my prized childhood game... I spent so much time on there and had every house and car. I didn't play TDU2 as much but I kinda wanna pick it up and play it til SC comes out! I truly hope this game isn't a letdown and revives the true MVP in open world racers.

Those different versions available to pre order says to me that house will be a dlc you gotta buy.

I played the first test drive unlimited on the PSP as a kid I also had the PS2 version that I played on my PS3 as a kid but I also got test drive unlimited 2 as a kid and I think I pre-ordered that one for the 360 now I play 1 on my PS2 as an adult I’m so excited for Test Drive Unlimited solar crown which I’m gonna refer to as Test Drive Unlimited 3 SC because in my mind it just makes more sense that way I have found childhood memories of both one and two

I played TDU2 and beat the game but somehow messed up the saving and was not able to save my progress so I stopped playing it but I remember it being fun and challenging with solid graphics

I loved driving round Hawaii. The game wasn't perfect but it was just so much fun you could forgive some of the hiccups. .I just hope they don't mess this up
