My first car was a gen 2 Tibby and I distinctly remember the lack of aftermarket support for it 10 years ago. Glad to hear that's (slowly) changing for Hyundai's current models!
The 2 gen Tibby was my first car too and still is now, I bought it 5 years ago because it was affordable, nice looking and not too expensive to maintain. Maybe it doesn't have a ton of power but it's still really fun to drive!
I remember in highschool when a bunch of us started getting cars and throwing car meets at our local In N Out parking lot a group of guys drove Tiburons. Like 3 or 4 of em. They were all lowered(probably with cut springs lol) and on reps with some big exhaust and an intake. I was in the honda crowd at the time and we would all race on the outside of town. The Tiburon guys had cool looking cars, but they were so slow and handled like shit. I drove one up the Ortega highway while a friend drove my EF hatchback and he was so confused at how my 88 hatch built like a box was so much more nimble than his Tibby. All in all, they're cool to look at but god they were just so outclassed by nearly everything else in the same price range and even most cars that were far cheaper.
"Had"! Still has! To this day it remains one of the coolest-looking cars on the road. My 3.8 GT *constantly* turns heads and has people asking me "what car is that!?"
@@Psythik YUP! ive got some nice tasteful cosmetic mods done and some wheels and i get tons of compliments. the car has aged better than anything else that released in 2010. those 2010 mustangs and camaros look pretty dated. not the gen. way ahead of its time
I had a 2013 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 R Spec. That car without mufflers sounded nuts and I think is still the highest HP car to come out of Korean at 429hp. It was an amazing car.
@youtubecantsaveallthesnowflakes I agree with you on corners keeping that oil consumption on check. To be honest the exhaust change up is in the air because Genny is perfectly fine stock.
I think the Hyundai Veloster N is a perfect case study of how a sport car can change a populations attitude toward a car company in general. After I saw the Veloster N and it's rave reviews I immediately went to their website to see what else they had... Which I think is close to the desired effect they were looking for.
Ever since Hyundai re-entered WRC with the i20, my brother would look at every i20 on the road and said, "oh look, it's the rally car" Pretty much the same reaction as mine when Ford Fiesta entered the WRC
Another thing not mentioned is Hyundai's warranty. I own a 2020 Veloter and it got recalled for a motor issue. I took mine in, they discovered my car was effected and 3 days later I picked my car up with a brand new engine that now has an unlimited warranty. I think that is pretty cool.
That’s the thing I don’t want to go with a company who even finds they have to recall their engines in modern times when there is established reliable performance engines from practically every market nowadays
I've had a few Tiburons and can attest to their reliability. Just change the oil and timing belts. The two I have currently are at 170k and 197k miles respectively
I had a 2001 Tiburon too with the 2.7 l engine and it broke two rods and completely destroyed itself at only 90000 miles changed oil every 7000 miles and belt was replaced too...
One thing you failed to mention is that Hyundai owns and operates their own steel foundries, unlike any other car manufacturer that I'm aware of. This is key to Hyundai's movement towards manufacturing better cars and being able to compete in overall quality while still undercutting the competition on price. They are able to make their own alloys and use them in places where they matter most, to maximize the strength and quality of the base chassis design. Hyundai's overall quality started improving drastically in the late 2000's. Honestly I think the Genesis coupe is a great-looking car. It doesn't stand out as much as a 350Z or Mustang, but there's a lot fewer of them on the road and I think they look a bit more interesting than either alternative (although the current Mustang is a really great car). I always wanted one, and to be honest, I still do.
I bought a 2013 gen coupe about a year ago and I absolutely love it. I have the turbo, and it’s been so fun and reliable. So far it’s been my favorite of all the cars I’ve owned honestly.
Mitsubishi has many segments in its company that makes other components. They don't only make cars. My opinion on the Genesis coupe of the 2000's is that the design was ripped off from the Infiniti and Genesis hasn't improved much from there.
Mitsubishi. And because Mitsubishi is so small they’re actually one step beyond that. Look at the door frames on a Lancer versus anything else. They’re actually amazingly well built, at least structurally.
As a Tiburon owner (the only one left in Italy that is called Tiburon instead of Coupe, MK1 1998), yeah, I love it. It's just a car that I love, great audio system, the engine starts whether outside is damn cold or hot af and it's just reliable and lovely ♥
I remember the Hyundai Tiburon was actually pretty respectable by other sports car owners. It was great to see a cheaper car company making affordable good looking sports car for younger drivers. When the Genesis came out, it solidified that Hyundai was doing well in that direction 🙂
I got a lot of respect for Hyundai. In 2000 I bought my first car from a dealer, 2000 Hyundai Accent. They were the only dealer I went to that treated a 19yo kid like a customer. I then traded it in for an Elantra about 5 or 6 years later. Both were reliable cars.
I bought a 2010 Genesis coupe new (still have it) because I thought the styling was so much more unique than the American pony cars of that year. I got more compliments from strangers in that car than every other ride I've owned combined. It was also quite a bit less expensive. If Hyundai had put their V8 from the sedan in there, it would have been serious competition for the muscle cars.
A good buddy of mine that passed away had a Genesis. Will always have a special place in my heart, too bad I never got to drive it. After he passed away my other buddy was given it & he ended up blowing up the head gasket. Idk why he junked it. I couldn’t have ever gotten rid of it tbh. Rest in piece Nick
My 2011 Genesis Coupe is probably my most favorite car I've ever owned. I definitely plan to keep it forever because I just love it too much to even think about selling it.
I just got mine a few weeks ago and I can say for certain that I absolutely love it. Just enough power where I can feel fast and not have to worry about killing myself
Loved my 2013 genesis coupe. Idk how it failed. They did the right thing and put wide enough tires on it so it didn’t wanna slide constantly like the frs and brz. It handled great sounded good was easy to work on/mod. Looking to get the news wagon n in a year or so
It was still built really cheap, with corners cut on materials, manufacturing, and component design. I mainly cite weak bushings, and in some cases an entire lack thereof (only one differential mount bushing where there should obviously be two), poor quality control, and a meh manual transmission in the first generation genny. They were definitely still in their cheapo era. I've driven and worked on them before, and just recently a friend and I replaced a control arm that snapped as he was parking his car, not a good look. Just for the record, this isn't an attack on the Genesis, they do handle great, look good, and have plenty of power for the time. Just wanted to share a portion of why I thought it failed.
My “real” first car was and still is a 2015 Genesis Coupe. I love it so much and it makes me happy to see that Hyundai is finally getting some love/interest from people who don’t already love their cars.
I honestly love the way the genesis coupe looked, especially the models up till 2013. It looks sporty but practical, like a better Cavalier. I'd love to own one someday
I love my 2012 Track. Definitely has some flaws. Interior looks and feels cheap. A lot for minor issues like stuff breaking in the interior. Back seat is a joke. But as a driving machine it's a lot of fun. I've put an exhaust and aftermarket wheels on it and I love it as my daily.
Oh man, I forgot about the pops and bangs. I was looking into them pretty heavily for a bit, and almost bought one. The active exhaust was a huge draw for me. Quiet when you want it to be, loud when you want to have some fun! "No officer, see? My car isn't even loud, it couldn't have been me making all that noise!"
@@thephoenixhunter84 Investments are generally made to make money from as whatever item or product you've purchased is predicted to go up in price. This generally means its a sought after/rare item that isn't in production anymore. Veloster N an investment? ... I would disagree.
I and my entire family have been driving Hyundai’s since 2008 because their dealer is so good to us and between all of us not a single issue with any of our vehicles ever and they’ve only gotten nicer looking with each new model and looking at their future models I’m blown away. I’m a loyalist
@@jclive2860 technically it's a company that provides stamped parts to their factory, but Hyundai owns majority stock in that company. It's in Alabama, and it's estimated that they had 90 kids working there at one point, with some as young as twelve. Story broke back in July.
I very much appreciate Hyundai's will to listen their customer and keep working for the last decades. When they make Tiburon/Hyundai Coupe, it's a step in the right direction. But it's not quite there yet. When they make Veloster & Genesis, that's when they started to nailed the segment. It's just the matter of time for them to be even better
They've been winning Car of the Year awards for ages. I know the EV6 won European Car of the Year this year. People just have to get over their preconceptions and give them a chance.
Went through 3 Tiburons, then Genesis 2.0T Coupe R-spec, now Genesis 3.8 Coupe, for the most part every model just got better, love the value, performance, and looks.
I clicked on the video and read the comments expecting see to see the 5.0 r-spec sedan. You can't talk about Hyundai "coolness" without mentioning the 2012-2014 5.0 sedan with 429 horsepower and 376 lb-ft torque. They combined luxury and style with speed and a large engine. What more could a car enthusiast want?
I have had a '13 Genesis coupe R-spec for 5-1/2 years. Almost 120k miles and still runs great. Not the quickest car I have ever owned or the best handling, but it is the best all around package for a daily. Looks sexy as hell also. So much fun to drive and it's been incredibly reliable.
I've owned and built a big turbo '10 2.0T (392hp) and '13 3.8 Track w/ BC Stroker Kit and 3Point8Performance everything to 477hp. I loved both generations and would definitely buy another one in the future. They handle mods well and are literal drift machines. Some thought my 3.8 was a V8 from how it sounded stroked to just over 4.0L with a full ARK and custom exhaust setup. Have plenty of pix and vids of both cars.
How much does it cost to make it 4.0l? I have a '13 and cant decide what to do to increase horsepower on somewhat of a budget. Only have exhaust. I heard even the cold air intakes dont do shit so I just have k&n filter.
@@tunedskillsz my honest opinion is if you want big power to look up the Omega 70mm turbo kit. Takes a stock 348hp motor to 525hp safely running 7psi. I planned on going turbo but wanted to do internals thus the Brian Crower Stroker kit. You can go to 4.1L with that kit but I wanted to still have some cylinder wall thickness.
@@tunedskillsz 421whp/382wtq. Stroker kit is a big jump. Really wish the 1st gen Veloster was mentioned in this video. Recently bought a 2016 Turbo model and I love it. I definitely think this a one of the few underrated sports cars that are out there. It is super affordable, very fun and not a gas guzzler.
I have a first gen veloster too! got it recently but it's been a really great car so far, extremely underrated and in my country even really rare as we only have about 3000 of them and 70 out of them are turbo's, we don't have the newer gen
i was looking for this comment lmaooo, i own a 2017 veloster turbo and its one of the most fun things ive ever been behind the wheel of. and the gas is great!!!
I remember saying "i will never own a hyundai" 10 years later i have a 14 veloster turbo with full bolt on's and tune. Fun car and surprisingly quick it opened a few peoples eyes in my area of what potential they have.
I thought the genesis was pretty cool at the time. I still do. And as someone who doesn't usually care for hatches, the veloster is one of the few I'd consider owning.
I have a 2023 Elantra and flippin love it. Advertised like 40mpg I think but I consistently get 45. Full digital displays, wireless charging, adaptive cruise control, lane keep that is basically self driving, super cool rims, and the dang thing was only $23K. Like if you want the most out of your money it’s a super good option.
@@AdultsAreTalking I love that, its a coupe for the driver and passengers never have to climb past the front seat like in all other coupes, best of both worlds, plus they hide the door handle by the window so it just looks like a coupe from all sides. Insurance also considers it a 4 door :)
I recently bought a Tib V6 as my first car and I can't be happier with my purchase. It's different than all the other cars on the street, reliable and pretty sturdy. I've had it for two months and I'm already in love. Definetely a car that should have more following
I absolutely love my Veloster N! And I was a Hyundai tech back in the early 2000s. Swore I would never own one of their cars, and the N is my 2nd Hyundai.
Imo I thought the genesis was one of the coolest cars to hit the street! I remember when I first started seeing them, I didn't know what I was looking at because they were modified and de-badged! But one things for sure I never would of thought it was a Hyundai, I think ultimately what killed the genesis was the Hyundai name attached to it, the genesis was like the new kid on the court wearing AND-1 when everyone else is wearing Nike or Adidas, but he could actually play good but no one really wanted to give him a chance because of what he was wearing 😔... I think that that's what the Hyundai name to the genesis 🥺
This is a perfect explanation, when I first got my 3.8 genesis in 2015, nobody knew what it was but they all agreed it looked and sounded awesome, tell them it's a hyundai though and they no longer cared
Never mind that Hyundai's including the Genesis suffer brutal depreciation. You better love that car as if you didn't put 50% down, you can't even get rid of it. My brother bought his Genesis for around $30k and it was barely over a year old. The MSRP was like $53000. Over 40% depreciation in one year is definitely something many people have run into like a brick wall. Whatever you do, never under any circumstances buy one new.
I have a 2020 Veloster R. I freaking love it! The drive feels great, and one part I feel like you missed out on is how good the new interiors are. Not overly complicated, and the apple car play is solid!

It's only the base model with a 2 l 4 cylinder but the car is fun for what it is and makes pretty dang good gas mileage for a sports hatch. The Scoupe Turbo was slow in stock form but its was an iron block that holded a lot of boost. I remember watching people in PR boosting them to 18 lbs with stock internals with no issues
I had a 2010 Genesis Coupe 2.0 R-Spec. That thing was so ridiculously fun to drive. It wasn't the fastest in a straight line, but the rear wheel drive, LSD, 6 speed manual, Brembo brakes, and sport suspension more than made up for it. It handled sooooo well, it absolutely loved the corners. I still regret selling that thing.
i am so excited for these two. the perfect direction to take the auto market. hyundai will (or might br already) be the fore runners of a new era in car design.
My first car was a black 2nd Gen tiburon with a V6. I absolutely loved it! The six speed was so smooth, the engine was super reliable and made for a fun drive. Aftermarket definitely wasn't there back then but lots of people both friends and people walking by in parking lots told me it was cool which was good enough for me. Great video man! Keep em coming.
i own the 2010 genesis coupe 2.0T and it’s such a fun car. i’ve lowered it on coils and put 19 inch wheels with a healthy amount of camber. the amount of compliments and stares i get with the car never gets old and i don’t understand how people can say they’re not attractive cars lol they just need a lil bit of work and they become really sexy.
234,000 miles on my 2013 Elantra GT, the hatchback. Leather, panoramic roof, manual 6 speed tranny. I have replaced brake pads, tires, and a battery. After almost 10 years, a crank position sensor died, costing me almost $20. I love this car!! I may have a synchro dying, but I can fiddle my way around the problem for now. Bought an Accent hatch at the exact same time, and while it has half the milage, it has also been an amazing investment in requiring only basic maintenance. After decades of owning cheap, and expensive, American cars, I gave Hyundai a shot, and won't go to any other maker, (unless something absolutely groundbreaking happens elsewhere)
the BK2 genesis coupe is literally one of the coolest hyundai cars ive ever seen tbh. Not only do they look great stock, but they're fast and moddable. Let alone they are complete eyes turners after cosmetic and internal modifications. You saying they just look like a "car" boggled my mind!😯
i think its worth mentioning that in 2013, the gen coupe got a second generation. with a ~50hp bump to both engine options, and (debatably) improved styling, the car got a much needed refresh that helped to boost its reputation. it didnt turn it into a legend overnight, but its still pretty neat.
Not mentioned in the video, which I think is worth noting if you're not a horsepower-chasing person - the V6 Gen Coupes sound so good stock, and with a simple catback they sound great. Can't say the same for the Nissan Z coupes. That engine sounds like poop.
I love my 2010 genesis coupe, and I think it's an extremely attractive fun to drive car !I also think it looks way better than the bk2 personally, and I'd take it over any new N hyundai . I'd have to strongly disagree with you about the genesis, and there is also a bunch of different aftermarket parts for the 2.0t and the v6 and a site dedicated to just hyundai genesis called (genracer) there is a 2.0t that made 1000hp and another that was used in formula drift.
I also agree with this i enjoy the looks of my bk1 except for them taillights nothing a pair of spec D taillights cant fix though also gc tuners another good site or car parts also enjuku racing and khartunerz too
@Morgan85 not so much about the hp more, so ment to show that the car can be modified to be pretty fast and does have an aftermarket following. And yes, obviously i know 1000hp isn't a lot these days, but 1000hp in such a small car out of a 2.0 4 cilinder turbo is pretty impressive.
It seems like Hyundai has really improved their quality and reliability issues that plague older ones in their newer cars while still being relatively cheap and accessible. I'm excited for them, even if the Veloster N has kinda struggled in rally.
I20 n* and they only struggled in the last 2 rallies because they won the manufacturers in 20 and 21 and last year they lost because of reliability because their car was much faster than toyota’s or Ford. Tanak was the fastet driver and could have won if his rear suspension didn’t decide to break every time he was in the lead
@@danoninho5880 Reliable for 2 years and then breaks constantly? Hyundai are consistent at least, love to see them bringing that spirit to motorsports.
Has Hyundai in the past lacked in quality, yes. But reliability? You could rack up 300k miles in a Hyundai drain the oil and grab 50k more miles before you noticed anything was wrong
He really did a disservice to Hyundai and Genesis for skipping over the BK2. I get dogging the BK1 but I absolutely love BK2 and so does everyone else I meet lol.
I just bought a '22 Sonata N-line and I love it. Some don't like the "catfish" look but I think it's sharp. It's not a full on N car like they've done with the Elantra but it's so close and it definitely is fun to drive. It's not just an appearance package like the other N-line models. I am older though which I think is who they were going for with this car but from what I can tell online there's plenty of younger people into this car as well. I think the after market mods could be an issue like you say but it's still a new model only in is 2nd year.
As an owner of a 2014 sonata, I love the thing! Living in a cold climate presents major issues, but I haven’t had those. This year I could not get snow tires and the sonata has held up great handing on sport radials from a Stinger GT. The power is good and the engine is very reliable.
I currently have a 2013 Veloster turbo, and it made me fall in love with Hyundai They are just so underrated and the veloster N is now my absolute dream car Absolutely love them
Ever since I first laid eyes on a second generation Tiburon I had wanted one, then 12 years later I finally got one, one of the first off the line 2003's, to restore (also converted the front end to impersonate the F/L2) and it has been with me ever since and I will never ever get rid of it. I recently got its successor as a project, a 2010 Hyundai Genesis R-Spec and I love it too. My love for Hyundai started the day I tore apart the Tib engine and realized the extraordinary value in its simplicity and build quality far away exceeds all others and made a lifelong loyal customer out of me. Thats exactly what you want as a customer from a company, good dependable cars offered at a significant value for everyone to enjoy.

I love my 2010 Genesis Coupe, it's definably not fast, but it's fun to drive and super reliable. Another good thing about them getting more affordable is that the aftermarket is constantly growing
My first (and current) car is a 2013 Hyundai Veloster RE:MIX Edition. Picked it up for $6300 and I've had it for two years now, and I LOVE IT! Incredible MPG, and it actually looks stylish! I'm also super surprised at the amount of compliments I get from random people on the streets about it. I am now a devoted Veloster fanboy and one day hope to pick up a Veloster N! Cool vid as always!!
The Hyundai Tiburon was actually my second car, the early model not the revamped one, and I loved it. My buddy in college had a celica and it actually kept up with it most of the time, just didn't look as cool. Since I have owned a mustang, 350z, 370z, and a couple dad cars. I now own a 2020 Hyundai Veloster N and it is hands down the best car I have ever owned. The customization options are a huge selling point for me, and the exhaust sound is second to none.
Love my wife’s 2014 KIA optima sx turbo(2.0L). A really fun drive. Especially when the motor locks up going down the interstate. But to KIAs credit. They did replace the engine under recall, even with us having 120000 miles in it. The reason for the motor locking up was due to a faulty machine process on the engine block from the factory that would cause premature main bearings failure. Only a number where affected. So be careful when buying earlier model 2.0l turbo engines from Hyundai. But if u do. Make sure u have the knock sensor recall installed or otherwise they will not cover it. Dealer told me they had to reject multiple customers on the recall of the engine due to them not having the knock sensors taken care of.
Same thing happened to me replace motor but over the years I did notice why it was cheaper the quality from leather to plastic steering wheel everything was actually really bad
First car I bought was a 2010 Genesis Coupe 2t. I have driven it for over 4 years and it is still running strong. Find it looks great and the only thing find now is I want more power out of the engine. I’ve been slowly adding mods to it and have found after market parts for the gen coupe pretty easily here in Canada
As a 2011 Genesis Coupe owner, I will never get tired of people asking me what my car is and then thinking I'm just messing with them when I tell them it's a Hyundai.
In 2010 I sat in a friend's mid 2000s Hyundai Accent and said, "I will never buy a Hyundai, this is terrible" 4 years later I bought a 2014 2.0T Hyundai Genesis Coupe, which I loved a lot. I miss that car, but sometimes you got to grow up and get a Subaru Outback. The Velociter N 2.0T is the exact same as the one in the second gen Genesis coupe
I can promise you, the Genesis before the Veloster was awesome. I had a 3.8 Track (wanted the 2.0T) but it was the best car I had. It was reliable and quick as hell. I can't say anything rude about them, Hyundai is doing some things, don't know what those things are, but they do exist. Good luck finding a Genesis.
I love my veloster N. Has plenty of after market support. Got mine making 350 to the wheel with some bolt ons already. It also makes the best noises to put its competition to shame. With exhaust, blow of valve, and open intake you get all the pops, bangs, swishs, and stu tu tus that every tuner drools over. With subaru dropping the ball and Volkswagen producing not very exciting dentist hatchbacks, hyundai is completely dominating that market segment in my opinion. With time and more N cars get out on the road I think this will become more apparent. Because as of now they are still relatively rare only being out a couple of years. And being the highest model trim aren't the most frequently bought. Give it time and I believe they will be a dominating force in in the tuner turbo car scene
They sound okay even with all that stuff on but I doubt they are gonna dominate the market as such, with s3 a45 AMG the wrx and stis focus rs and St and the fiesta St not to mention the golf R and GTI the odds are so stacked against them and they've been out for a while and I see barely any and the rest of the cars excluding the impreza which I've got an older one, the good ones before they dropped the ball I see on a regular to semi regular basis

As someone who works at a Hyundai dealership, im really happy to see this brand getting more popular by the day. These new cars are super cool, and yes i am aware at how "boring" the older Hyundai's were. But it definitely is a reliable brand and their looks and performance are amazing atm
I have owned four Hyundai now with my current Hyundai being a Kona N. My first Hyundai was a 2003 Tiburon GT that I loved and yeah it was far from matching the competition but that car was a blast for what it was. As for quality I never had any issues with any of the Hyundai I owned.
I bought a Veloster n for a few reasons. I love how it reminds me of a 90's civic hatch in looks. The exhaust pops! I also fell in love with how the car felt driving. the price helped a lot, $10000 less than the civic type r when I bought mine.
@@jk25653 I thought about waiting for it. That's tough, I would definitely swap to an i30 with 4 doors. Probably not only because I'm not sold on the rear of the Elantra.

I have a Veloster N and love it. I’ve been able to do a decent amount of mods to it and I anticipate continuing to build it out. From what I’ve heard the departure of Albert Bierman and the transition to electric has put the N division into question, but hopefully they continue the N brand into electric vehicles. I think if they do then the aftermarket will continue to grow for these cars.
I love Hyundai since my dad drove a Scoupe Turbo when I was a kid, and after all these years a Genesis Coupe came out, but sadly it didn't produce an RHD version🥲 I'm still looking forward Hyundai will make a Coupe today
I bought my 2011 3.8 track Edition brand new. At the time my criteria was rear-wheel-drive, 2-door, sporty. I looked at a lot of different cars. The Genesis looked good, went good, handled good, costly less and had better warranty than anything else out there. Haven't regretted a minute of it and still drive it everyday. I get a good amount of looks at it also since there aren't that many around.
My first experience with Hyundai was my Hyundai Pony lovingly named Pounding Pony by my friends. I had it equipped with a Sony head unit, a Soundsteam 200W rms amp driving a pair of Orion 10" subs bouncing some sweet bass from the hatch. To control the sound a Blaupunkt crossover sending mid range and hi to a set of JBC component speakers powered by two kenwood 80W amps. Though the car lacked power it could still make it's rear drive wheels slide around corners and traffic circles. I'm glad I was able to cross the USA/Canada border a number of times to let my American neighbours know they were missing an amazing feat of engineering. LOL
Tiburon is the best one in my opinion only because all the body mod options you can put on them to make them look good along with the open space in their engine bays to allow more room for engine power mods to make them even competitive in todays Markert in performance.
I've owned a 2004 Hyundai XG350L for 4 years now and I absolutely love it. I got one because my dad had one many years ago and it was his favorite car he's ever owned (his first car was an early 70s dart and he's owned 2 Lincolns since he got rid of his XG). My car still is only at about 55,000 miles and works flawlessly. It's not a bad v6 engine in there either. I absolutely adore my car and other old forgotten Korean cars. I also love how Hyundai has become an underdog story. Used to sell cars at a lower price than th competition to stay alive to now building better cars than the competition still at a good price. I don't plan on ever selling my XG unless I were maybe to upgrade to an azera or Genesis. Also I've noticed most people I've run into that own older Hyundais like pre-2006 absolutely love them so you are entirely correct with that statement. They're easy cheap cars to make fun of but if you own one you can see what they really are.
Yep. My 2004 Sonata is the most reliable car I've ever owned. A friend had an Azera (2007 I think) and it felt like a 5 series when you rode in it. I also knew someone with an XG350L and remember it being nice.
I remember Hyundai was a horrible car company as a kid. They were unreliable, lacked power and rusted very easily.

The Tiburon guys had cool looking cars, but they were so slow and handled like shit.

I absolutely love my Veloster N! And I was a Hyundai tech back in the early 2000s. Swore I would never own one of their cars, and the N is my 2nd Hyundai.
7:42 it just looks so happy to be the car it is ☺️
Imo I thought the genesis was one of the coolest cars to hit the street!
Same thing happened to me and my genesis

It's only the base model with a 2 l 4 cylinder but the car is fun for what it is and makes pretty dang good gas mileage for a sports hatch. but theta 2 engine in genesis couple so suck
i think its worth mentioning that in 2013, the gen coupe got a second generation. with a ~50hp bump to both engine options, and (debatably) improved styling, the car got a much needed refresh that helped to boost its reputation. it didnt turn it into a legend overnight, but its still pretty neat.
They're badass. Is it a 5.0 like the sedan
I also agree with this i enjoy the looks of my bk1 except for them taillights nothing a pair of spec D taillights cant fix though also gc tuners another good site or car parts also enjuku racing and khartunerz too

I have a 2010 3.8! FBO tune and god I love the car so much it feels really quick after a tune and some bolt ons and overall a great car!

I bought a Veloster n for a few reasons. I love how it reminds me of a 90's civic hatch in looks. The exhaust pops! I also fell in love with how the car felt driving. the price helped a lot, $10000 less than the civic type r when I bought mine.
Got my elantra N! Love it!
if you had a choice to swap out to elantra n, would you?
@@jk25653 I thought about waiting for it. That's tough, I would definitely swap to an i30 with 4 doors. Probably not only because I'm not sold on the rear of the Elantra.
@@jacobwilliams109 yeah, i can't pull the trigger on elantra, due to design. I can't pull the trigger on veloster, due to design too. Damn. I'd kill for a nice looking coupe from hyundai like a genesis coupe. gr86 is hitting all the check marks, as well as the markups :[.
I love Hyundai since my dad drove a Scoupe Turbo when I was a kid, and after all these years a Genesis Coupe came out, but sadly it didn't produce an RHD version🥲
I'm still looking forward Hyundai will make a Coupe today
I have a 21 Sonata n line and love it. Never thought I would be a Hyundai fan, now we have 2 in my family.
My third car has been a 2015 Genesis 5.0 with the 5.0L V8 and it sounds amazing and handles well as well as, it’s pretty quick
I also knew someone with an XG350L and remember it being nice.
drive an 2016 azera limited and it’s so nice i know some people who’ve rode in it and say it feels nicer and has better quality than lexus
@@cameronwashington229 the azeras are worlds nicer than my car too and I've definitely almost bought one probably 2 or 3 times at this point.
@@eliwilson3902 they’re quick too the smooth v6 and 14 speaker infinity is a banger and apple carplay
@@cameronwashington229 my xg now has a jbl sound system with a pioneer head unit. Sounds like a modern stereo and costed only a couple hundred
