They had actually called it that right on the box. It also had live online player traffic way before Forza Horizon did, making the world feel more alive.
Really looking forward to the Crew3 with the Hawaii map, I think this was the same map as TDU2 (and 1). This brings back some good memories and I'm wondering if I still know the way around the island. Also Solar Crown is hopefully going to be epic.

Thats why I actually dont believe in FH devs anymore. TDU2 is my favorite arcade racing game from all times because it was so realistic with the "tiny" features that even NOW Forza cant put on their games... that says a lot. I really hope TDU SC is good enough as it was TDU2 but I dont wanna get hyped and receive a thing like FH5 xD. Nice video! I love them, keep it going!
what i also liked very much in TDU2 is that when you bought a new car and drove it, you made kilometers/miles with the car. in Forza it always shows you a random new number. I remember checking all my cars, how long I've been driving them
The ai cars are a lot better in tdu2 aswell, i noticed it when i was playing it yesterday, the cars swerve out the way so they don't get hit, no other game does that
One thing I love about this game as well is that you have to *FIND* the properties (which SC did the opposite of by putting it all in the damn hotel besides the showrooms)
Hey, thanks for the cool video! Nice to see TDU2! I think I will try it some time in the near future thanks to your vid! Back in the day in 2006 I played TDU when it was released and it was so good! It is interesting how many good features yet there were in the first game. Especially the transport challenges stuck in my head where you have no time limit, just carefully getting the car from A to B without taking damage. Pure driving! I still remember when I bought the Add-On (yeah, a time when there were no DLCs but Add-Ons) just to have the opportunity to get the Ferrari Testarossa and the F40. I say opportunity, because like in TDU2 you had to earn the cars and that felt really special. To "earn" the F40 in Forza Horizon 4 didnt' felt that intense in comparison. (cool though to paint it in prideflag-colours) Just like many comments said: TDU/TDU2 were games about the excitement of driving and collecting cars in really interesting and cool ways! FH is not bad nonetheless, but it doesn't care that much about the sensation of getting in these awesome supercars. Just wrecking things and getting points for everything, even losing... I mean in TDU you can literally do a test drive with the car before you buy it! I hope Solar Crown lives up to the standards that these games set over decade before! But my beloved KT-Racing and Nacon that gave me Isle of Man TT and WRC behind TDUSC? Seems in good hands!

Granted, I've only seen the trailer so far, but it was so.. city-ish. So much alike to NFS: Heat, which I.. mostly tolerated. I doubt any racing games in the modern day can give me that feeling TDU2 gave me back in the day. I've played Forza 4 and 5. Both are great in their own ways, but they're not at TDU2's level.

Imagine combination of games like Forza Horizon 5 (with huge car list), Assetto Corsa, BeamNG and car mechanic simulator in one big game. I know it seems impossible now. In the past we didn't think games would look that awesome as they look today. Technology will get there. I just hope i'm gonna be alive to witness that. I imagine that game to have it's own economy system (like EVE online). Slowed down progression. That way you can bond with one car instead of owning 50+ cars like in forza (no satisfaction, bored easily). Car clubs - You decide what are the terms for getting in your car club. There would be some kind of club wars to see witch club is the best in the city. That way you can build reputation (live online with other players). Put way more barn finds and junk jards where you can find some rare gems. Car detailing. Show contest, as well music, style and tuning contest. Each server can represent one continent with up to 150 players or more (3 servers - USA, Europe, Asia) In, for example, USA server you can se more muscle cars. In Europe more BMW's, Audi, Volvo etc. You can travel between servers and we need somehow blend that transition with some kind of animation. For example, if the server is full, AI worker won't let you pass the border. On the start of the game where player can't afford they own house yet, we provide public garages. Avatars must be fully customizable (clothes, accessories etc...) Houses can be customizable (like Hogwards Legacy) If players don't have enough money to race among each other, put some all time available races so players can grind money. Players can own car wash house. Players can own towing car companies. Players can own delivery businesses (for car parts, tires, wheels etc...) Players can own taxi business. Players can own paint shops (store and workshop) All businesses can have social media page or internet page. Open communication all the time. Besides car meet places, put some restaurants where players can gather, eat and socialize (players can own those restaurants). Restaurants can be customizable to in some racing fashion.
I’ll never not be let down by Horizon’s Goliath races being like 10 minutes long. TDU1 took like 40 minutes racing around Ohahu in 2006. You still can’t even roll down windows in Horizon to cruise in cockpit view.
i remember on first TDU my car became really hard to drive it was drifting always and took me year to find out it had driving modes which turned off traction control 🤣
In FH5, it's stupid when in interior view, and you look behind, it doesn't show the back seats, etc. You just get the road view behind the car. Its not like this in TDU.
Bro, Test Drive Unlimited brought a lot of good features that will make me play it even more. I am happy to see the cops going aggressively stopping the players. I know A9 has cops that will go aggressive towards the player but the base AI cars are a bit broken, but I don’t mind.
This makes me so keen for TDUSC. I've only put in 20 or so hours into FH5. It's so boring. Pretty. But boring. It'll be a game that'll be forgotten in the future.
I just wish FH5 had more passion and soul put into it. I was hype when it was announced, but when I beat it, I was left wanting more, yet the devs refused to deliver. Sure the Hot Wheels Dlc was nice and had some progression, but after you beat it, you're left high and dry. No wonder most of the old team left.
For me TDU2 seems like more of a car person game but FH5 is a bit more cash grabby. I mean in TDU2 all convertible cars actually converted, whereas in FH5 they made a big thing out like 5 cars doing it and that was it l, it's such a half arsed feature. While I haven't played TDU2 in a long time, back when I did the modding community was thriving, constantly bringing out new cars and sound files; it has so much more replayability
I’ve actually never finished this game 😂 I think I beat the first championship where the pay out was like a million dollars and then started flipping cars and houses
I always wanted to ride bikes among the car guys. Don't care about cars myself anymore, and just want to ride with other players. Unfortunately triple A developers are absolutely hopeless with bike handling and physics and I will probably never be able to have that fun.
Yeah ever since the original company is no more, people are playing this game by downloading a "backup copy" of the game in the internet archive and then playing it on a private server.
TDU 2 : not just a racing game, it's about the lifestyle of owning a dream car
The progression in Test Drive Unlimited 1 and 2 was really well done. Every car and house really felt like a reward, like you honestly earned it. I loved it.

Wow you're a real OG - Appreciate it, thanks for sticking by! :D
Is the game on Xbox one if not it’s ok bc I will be getting my brothers gaming laptop in about 3-4 months
Honestly thought I was the only one who knew about that gem
Forza is fun for new players, but for the "old" players, it's kind of dead
I’ll never not be let down by Horizon’s Goliath races being like 10 minutes long. TDU1 took like 40 minutes racing around Ohahu in 2006.
You still can’t even roll down windows in Horizon to cruise in cockpit view.
Hi Yuwan love your videos and keep up the good work
Awesome vid !!..
I do believe the devs of TDU 1 and 2 are the same devs behind The Crew 1 and 2 ..
You can tell that this guy loves TDU 2 just by looking at intro Ford Fastback Look. He turned into Miami Harris.
I loved this game. The physics were not great but just about everything else was. Excited for SC.
Tdu 2 is basically gta without guns
I really love your channel I check it everyday. It’s so entertaining. (I’m planning to get tdu2 on my ps3)
I was 9 when the game came out and have barely played it. But I watched my dad play it and I loved it
Tdu2 is the G.O.A.T
You can flip cars in forza too!?
i remember on first TDU my car became really hard to drive it was drifting always and took me year to find out it had driving modes which turned off traction control 🤣
Tdu2, midnight club LA and the crew are my favorite games
In FH5, it's stupid when in interior view, and you look behind, it doesn't show the back seats, etc. You just get the road view behind the car. Its not like this in TDU.
Bro, Test Drive Unlimited brought a lot of good features that will make me play it even more. I am happy to see the cops going aggressively stopping the players. I know A9 has cops that will go aggressive towards the player but the base AI cars are a bit broken, but I don’t mind.
I remember playing tdu1 when i was 6 or smth, i would instantly drive to the Koenigsegg dealership to test drive the cars
This makes me so keen for TDUSC. I've only put in 20 or so hours into FH5. It's so boring. Pretty. But boring. It'll be a game that'll be forgotten in the future.
Imagine playing a game when you’re a kid because “the cars had blinkers”
With this video, I realize I have never played TDU2....HOW?! The first was amazing! I guess I just checked it off in my head as PLAYED.
I miss playing TDU 2
For me TDU2 seems like more of a car person game but FH5 is a bit more cash grabby. I mean in TDU2 all convertible cars actually converted, whereas in FH5 they made a big thing out like 5 cars doing it and that was it l, it's such a half arsed feature.
While I haven't played TDU2 in a long time, back when I did the modding community was thriving, constantly bringing out new cars and sound files; it has so much more replayability
Omg I’ve not seen your vids in time used to watch every single one
They've been putting soo much time into solar crown. Its been worked on longer than GTA 6 and I dont doubt it'd be the crown holder of car games.
🤔
my personal favourite car game ever is fh3 or fh2 fh3 more just cause i love australia and i had amazing memories in fh3
TDU 2 is the best racing game ever made along with Gran Turismo 5/6
I’ve actually never finished this game 😂 I think I beat the first championship where the pay out was like a million dollars and then started flipping cars and houses
yyour the best car you tuber
Your custom music also worked on the radio

I always wanted to ride bikes among the car guys. Don't care about cars myself anymore, and just want to ride with other players. Unfortunately triple A developers are absolutely hopeless with bike handling and physics and I will probably never be able to have that fun.
its such a fun game but unfortunately i cant get it anywhere :(
Yeah ever since the original company is no more, people are playing this game by downloading a "backup copy" of the game in the internet archive and then playing it on a private server.
