- Essential & common piccolo alternate fingerings are C# above the staff and high G#. These fingerings need to be practiced to be useable when needed to correct intonation.

The added R2-R3 fingering for G# works REALLY well on the flute too. For me, it's more impactful than on piccolo.
I had no idea about the C#. I will be using that anywhere there isn't a run. It's odd that adding fingers raises the pitch, but I feel like it almost comes out in a different harmonic? A better one?
