Josh, thank you for doing such a good job on your videos. I could tell that you were torn as to whether to recommend the polisher or not which shows you care. I don't think the heat is much of a concern since it isn't heating up the backing plate. Seems perfect for the weekend warrior. They also have a better price on the Populo polisher on a separate listing (same site). Getting this polisher, an extra battery and the 4-year extended warranty would make a great package!
Sometime could you post a video on how you get around the difficult areas of the car such as the front fascia and the roof pillars with a 5 inch dual action polisher? Most videos just show the easy parts of the car such as the hood. Thank you
That’s a no go. You need to size your pads to the area you’re polishing. A 3” mini polisher is an absolute must. If you’re looking for an all in one machine that can do every area of a car, your best bet is a forced rotation or a rotary. Something that won’t stall.
That looks like a Makita style battery. A lot of the cheaper made in china tool use those batteries. If you have access to a Makita lxt battery you should see is it works. That would possibly improve performance and for sure run time.
Hi Josh, another good vid, thanks! By chance, how does this Populo polisher compare to the similar 15mm long throw SPTA polisher? Anything in particular that's a big difference between the two?
hey, what other batteries fit this ? what other branding this polisher uses ? I bought one but can't find any extra batteries anywhere, stuck with just one.
Hey man that battery and charger looks exactly like the hart. I'll bet you they are made at the same factory. The battery probably works with both of them too
Haha I agree! That’s why I never go to deep in opening them up.. he has way more knowledge on the internals of these things and is a fantastic source of info on that!
Josh quick question first time trying out the rupes pads and polish, i used the yellow pad and the yellow polish not so long ago but i got some dusting . Is that suppose to happen ? Like is it suppose to dust .
Hey, Josh, great review once again, buddy? Well, it's so happened that I ended up buying one of those polisher myself. I'm pretty pleased with it like you. Said for the money you can go wrong and mine. Does it get warmed up like yours did? But it's not a killer. It's not bad. It does a job for what I need it. And I'm not a professional, detailed guy, but. I could deal with the little warmness from the machine. Other than that, it's a good machine for the money, Oh, yes, I also end up getting the extra battery. So meanwhile, I'm using one, I'm charging the other one, so II don't run out of juice as long as I have the extra battery charging.👍
Awesome! Yeah that’s the way to do it with the two batteries for sure! For the money it’s amazing especially for the diyer. It’s nice not having the cord isn’t it?!?!
@@imjoshv yup not having the cord or feel like someone is always following u is a plus👍 thanks for all ur educational & informative videos of all the Car detailing equipment, keep them coming Joshv👍👏💪🙏
Hey what's up Josh how you doing tonight? Couple questions for you tonight are you going to be out in Vegas at Sema and also what made you move your shot to your home. Do you have a video where you were explaining this because one day I just noticed you were back at your house. I detail for my home garage also so I was just wondering what made you do it
Hi yes I will be at sema for 2 days! For the home shop, I actually do still have my other shop as well. I just bought a new home are we have quite a bit of space and it had a second detached garage so I have a shop for my personal stuff as well as filming videos. I wanted to try and make more time at home since my kids are still young and I want to be there with them as much as possible before they get older and don’t like me anymore haha
Yep I totally agree with that! But it was something I definitely wanted to point out in the video since my other polishers don’t heat up like that. Regardless for under 100 a cordless long throw da with a battery included is a crazy deal! Again not for the professional other than back up in my opinion but an amazing option for the diyer or someone just getting started
@@imjoshv did you happen to try this out? I have a Bauer to Milwaukee battery adapter that i use on other Bauer yard tools. I would love to add this DA to my arsenal.
It sure does.. not the same quality of the Milwaukee that’s for sure, but at the price I never expected that anyways haha. For the price it gets the job done and no cord
Samsung batteries wasn't the problem. The problem was people put generic batteries in there Samsung phones and that's what the problem was. People tend to think all products are the same but we all know how wrong that is 😂

Do you know what power tool batteries fit on this polisher?

Literally just said this to someone the other day, a full polish would be a great video.
I bought the batoca cordless. A few bux more, but you get two 5ah batteries.
Good performance and so far has been durable/well constructed
Awesome!
Che modello di Batoca hai acquistato?
Good video...Thanks for taking the time to review this product...the information is helpful in making purchasing decisions!!!
Glad it was helpful!

it does not fit , not even close
Would've been helpful if you ran one of your other polishers and temped it to see the difference.
Like the PIP of you using the polisher while you talk about it. Great video!
👍👍👍
Do you think that maybe changing the grease may cool it down a few degrees?
Good question. I don’t really think it’s from friction but who knows… it’s may just because it could help it run smoother
Hi Josh, another good vid, thanks! By chance, how does this Populo polisher compare to the similar 15mm long throw SPTA polisher? Anything in particular that's a big difference between the two?
I have this polisher. Here in Greece it comes with 3 different colours from 3 different brand labeling!!! Hahah great video sir
hey, what other batteries fit this ? what other branding this polisher uses ? I bought one but can't find any extra batteries anywhere, stuck with just one.
On my old Harbor freight DA polisher I scooped out the factory grease and replaced it with nice grease. Maybe that would help with the heat 🤷🏼♂️.
does anybody know what other batteries fit this?
Hey man that battery and charger looks exactly like the hart. I'll bet you they are made at the same factory. The battery probably works with both of them too
Hi josh you should sent that buffer to Brian at apex he would most likely do a autopsy on it lol 😂
Haha I agree! That’s why I never go to deep in opening them up.. he has way more knowledge on the internals of these things and is a fantastic source of info on that!
I know you done a video a while back on the SPTA. So how would you compare this one to the SPTA?
Has anyone figured out how to get to the grease to change it out on this polisher?
Is the machine accessible to change the grease? Clean out and add a higher quality grease to help with with the heat
Wonder if you took the head apart and used some high quality high temp grease?? Would it keep the temps down? I'm looking to buy one
does the charger goes up to 220v?

Do you know which brand power tool batteries work on this?
did you fin any ?
Do you know if additional batteries are available for this polisher?
They are!! www.amazon.com/dp/B08YNJWSWX/?tag=detailgreen-20
Do you know what other battery brands fit this? Milwaukee looks like it may
Could you please tell me if a aftermarket Makita battery will fit om this machine? In Germany/Netherlands i cannot by a spare Populo battery 😢
i have the same problem here in belgium, bought one and love it but could not find any spare batteries. did you find any options that fit ?
Only 1 battery with this? how long to charge it?
use the other handles and the heat isn't as much of an issue.

Any idea if a Bauer 20 volt battery would work on this?
Not sure.. I have one at my shop still grab it and check to see if it fits
@@imjoshv I ordered the $82 dollar one. Fingers crossed my Bauer batteries work as extra ones.
Can you use bauer batteries on it?

use one time 2min and have a e4 code please help
The '"correction ability" comes from the Rupes pad. The only one battery idea is idiotic to say the least...
one battery idea? What do you mean by that?
216th
just buy two and you get two batteries
Ha that’s an option. They actually sell the batteries separately too so you can also go that route
Looks like a Chinese knock off of a Milwaukee D/A.
At that price, I assumed chy-nese gar bah-ge.
It sure does.. not the same quality of the Milwaukee that’s for sure, but at the price I never expected that anyways haha. For the price it gets the job done and no cord
