I love it. It feels strong and sturdy. I’ve tried others but they look and seem weak. This one not so. I am thrilled. It will be out on my counter all the time.
I'll give this a 7 out of 10 - slicing carrots for a soup - the carrots tend to fall sideways, even though I packed it pretty full with them upright - ended up with 3/4 of them in great circles, 1/4 of them in oblong shapes. It was quick - no bleeding knuckles - and easy clean up.
My sister came to visit...and brought hers. A few days after she left, I made a salad as I usually do...with several types of veggies. What took her 10 minutes, took my 30... You can bet I called her on my way to work, found out where she bought hers, and had her order me one from a dealer in her area... Now I am waiting (not so patiently) for mine to arrive.
@@piddlinmike there’s usually a trade off with things. It’s saving you time on food prep, but it takes longer to clean than just a knife and cutting board.
Ummmm...works great on onions, but my "juliennne" carrots came out sliced. I used julienne setting with number 4. Any tips??? The video does not show the results of the carrots very well. Intentional???
Thank you for this video, I wish there was a cover to protect my food from flying out on the counter and into the plastic bin that it all should slide right into
Hi! I’m trying to figure out the thickness numbers. For instance, a recipe calls for 1/4 slices, from the looks of the carrots in the video, I’m thinking the number 4 setting. Can you verify?
@@brendaspratling3595 I ordered mine from the Pampered Chef catalog on September 7th 2021 and received it today(September 14th 2021. And I’m no host to this company!
They must have redesigned this since this video, because the hopper is not fitting inside of the container😂. Also, The food doesn't always land in the container, it lands in the gap between where the container butts up against a slicer part. And ends up on the counter. I mean don't get me wrong, I like the slicer, but it could be designed better.
Me too and we do this a lot at home. Lacking this feature would be the one reason I would have to say no to this, though PC have some of my favorite kitchen items :)
The pusher and slicing.. Ok... But design is terrible... Washing is miserable, storage is a collapsing MESS.. THE CATCH BIN... MAKES MESS ON COUNTER!!!
A headache to clean! Way overpriced, and didn’t do very well. I usually use Visalia chop, it’s $20. I only order this because a friend was having a party but if I would have known I would have spent money on something else
Best investment I ever made!!! I'm an amateur Chef and cook almost everyday. This saves a lot of work on my hands ❤️
I have had mine for a while I was kind of scared of it but thankfully I found this video! I can't wait to use it now. Ty :) Jen
I love the rapid shirt change at 1:09!

Great informative video. Thanks for sharing this with all of us to learn from.

Still can't believe I spent 70$ on one of these. Can't wait to try it tho! Will edit again if I like it.
Remember it's always better to try to host a party to get discounted or FREE items!

Love it but what's on the shelf behind his head that gives him cat ears? LOL

is there a way to put the potatoes back in to cube them? is that possible?
He did that with the sweet potatoes just put them back though it a second time

It is a pain to clean! Even with the brush, food gets stuck
I've found that turning the knobs back to "slice" and "0" before cleaning opens it up more and stuck food falls out much more easily.
I agree. Simple to clean is a huge exaggeration. And if you lose that brush, good luck.

Excellent training for this excellent tool. Thanks

Did you select the julienne button at the top too, not just the bottom? Mine works perfectly.

Can you do cabbage
IF you are a pampered chef you should know how to use that mslicer for onion, right? I didnt see anything about it?
Toddler french fries. 😂
I couldn’t find this on the pampered chef web site
Probably because it is out of stock and only hosts can order it right now.
Change your search to include out of stock items and a picture will show up
It's available now. They sold out in 16 days and only got replenishments a few weeks ago.

I wish you would show how to wash in the sink. Not everyone has dishwasher. I noticed nothing is shown how to hand wash.
Same steps but then wash in your sink with your hands instead of putting in dishwasher.
It comes with a great little tool to help you clean by hand.

Doesn't work for slicing pepperoni.

I need a mandolin to cut long strips of zucchini (lasagna noodle alternative). It appears this mandolin can’t do that.

It’s a great idea but it’s a ridiculous price.
Williams Sonoma sells one for $60 that is the traditional slice-your-fingers-off variety. I think this one is a fabulous price for all the features.
Its actually a very fair price for a quality mandolin with this many features. But you can get a simple mandoline for about 20 bucks.
Not a bad price as long as you have the same number of fingers you had when you started using this mandoline!
Please please please don’t have mindless music when you’re talking. Makes it very hard to concentrate for a lot of us. Thanks for listening.
