Easy and straight to the point and for once I finally found someone who put the effin' tensioner where it should be, under the chain! Thanks for the video I will most definitely be using your design on my pocket bike project.
I just did this today. Put a Predator 212 on a Coleman ct100u. The front oil drain plug wouldn't let it slide forward to tighten the chain. This worked perfect, better than stock. Thanks for the tip!
Cool idea gives me a few ideas for an ebike I am building since my Trek has bottom drop outs if go internal geared hub I may have to rig a tensioner up since they are meant to be on backwards dropouts w tension built-in already
is there a way you can share a list of all items, maybe include links on them. I made myself a list but kept getting myself confused. Would be great if you can! Thank you!
The stock tensioner on my Coleman BT200x was bent like that from the factory. I tried to bend it over a little but it didnt really help so id say just let it ride. Thanks for watching
@@nachodadsgarage1159 ok I wasn't sure because mine looks a bit different and I was looking to change the gear ratio. Btw thanks for responding to my comment
It's a piece of 1.5 inch vinyl tubing. I bought a foot of it at the hardware store and cut it into smaller pieces to use as the contact point for the chain.
It's just some 1" wide steel flat stock cut down to about 5" long. You can get it at lowes, home depot, ace hardware, and most home improvment and hardware stores.

Went to ace today and put it all together. Works great!

Thanks so much! I'm going to try something similar for the drift kart I'm building on my channel!
Respect 👊
Good video my left ear loved it
You rock dude…thank you 😊 I subscribed outta respect 🫡
I have a dumb question but wouldn't the chain rub on the tensioner and cause friction being metal to metal? Ohhhh vinyl tubing. 😑
How frequently would you reckon you have to replace the vinyl tubing? Excellent work by the way, very engineer.
About every 6 months. The vinyl gets brittle over time and starts chipping away.
Great idea and great video! Thank you!
Awesome video Sir
Hell yea thank you so much!🤙🏼
Nice job, thanks!
Thanks bud
Great video
Awesome thanks man really helped me out
Thanks for watching bud, glad it helped you out.

Awesome bud, glad it helped you out
Dope video thank you!
Thanks for watching bud, glad it could help you
Great video i need one
Damn genius
Nice job!
Good idea but I think the chain will eat right through that tubing you got over the bearings.
I have a ninja kawasaki 250 put in a go kart I need something like this. Do you think It will hold it
Sweeeet setup 👌!!
Sooo genius!! Thank you man
Nice to see someone with hands as black as me! 😎✌
I'm going to try and make a tensioner like yours
Make sure you get sum over the bearings the chain just ate threw the metel
Thank you sir I like it !!
Much respect i just had the same problem today
My Coleman chain tensioner is kinda rotated so the chain rubs the edge of the tensioner
The stock tensioner on my Coleman BT200x was bent like that from the factory. I tried to bend it over a little but it didnt really help so id say just let it ride. Thanks for watching
My baja racer too
What kind of bearings are they
How long was the flat stock
Where did you get the bearings from and do you know the specs on them?
Thanks man I just did this on my mini bike it was getting annoying 👍
Sweet build, if you don't mind, what's the purpose of the arm still needing to have play to move still? Would it still be safe with it tightened down?
with all that tension itll put alot on that bolt when the chain stretches from bumps etc.needs a little bit of play.
What sprocket do you have
Stock early db30 sprocket
What spring did you use bro ?
Thanks it solved my problem
Where'd you get that rear sprocket ?
Stock sprocket on the early db 30s

What is the piece called that you put over the bearing that the chain sits on. Looked like a clear plastic sleeve.

Thanks 🙏 am finnia do this
Awesome bud, ive put this one on my coleman ct 200 now and its still working great
We have the same bike so i know this going to work this the only thing holding me back
@@cfnlilshun9573 it was the only thing stopping me from riding when i put this one together. If you need it and dont have it, make it
What is the long piece called that you assemble the chain tensioner ball to?
It's just some 1" wide steel flat stock cut down to about 5" long. You can get it at lowes, home depot, ace hardware, and most home improvment and hardware stores.
@@nachodadsgarage1159 thanks
Ur tha mannn
Great job, I'm unimpressed with the chain tensioner that bolts on my engine, the chain catches the bolt... Waste of money.
well done!
But i wanna see how is works now
Smart
what kind of chain is that?
#35 chain
@@nachodadsgarage1159 well of course but ive never seen that heavy duty of a #35
Its tractor supply chain, i break them too often to buy good chain 😂
Thanks man
That is a big problem for the ct100u the chaine coming off
My dude what is the gear ratio on that bike😂
Fast lol
Great build, but i feel like after 10 minutes of ridding ur gana burn thro the tubing.
It lasted about 6 months before the tubing started coming apart
lmao my chain tensioner ripped off while i was doin 40 i run the same chassis as you
Sweeet
