Damn man. To think I've seriously heard people recommend that Emerson to dudes for NVG mounting, because "All bumps are the same" and it really doesn't matter. I'd love to see a comparison between TW, Opscore, and HHV bumps and how they all stack up since folks usually have so many questions!
I don't think there's going to be a huge difference in outcome if you take a fist sized rock to the noggin, or a baseball bat swing. The small rock or equivalent being the only thing a bump is really supposed to survive anyway..
why didn't he do the same thing to the ops core? i am very interested in how the carbon shell would hold up... this comparison is useless... I'm sure ops core would've hold up, but the whole point of watching these videos are to see if that price is really worth it... and maybe who knows, the shell might have failed as well... "I'm not going to do it to my ops core cause its expensive"... then why did i watch this video? 🤦♂
He isn't breaking an ops core bump helmet like that; that's why. Who do you think he is, the world's strongest man? He might be putting about 500-600 lbs. of force (being nice) on that helmet he broke. It's going to take close 1500-2000 on the ops core. I know my math is grey, but it's enough to show you that you clearly have no common sense.
I have no experience with the Emerson but I recently picked up an ops core bump and have been wearing skate/bmx helmets since I was a kid (protec and triple eight) I was surprised by the robustness of the ops core it feels insanely overbuilt.
Try the FMA " thick and heavy" helmet. Willing to bet it will perform at a highly comparable level to the ops core at a fraction of the price instead of this bottom of the barrel Emerson.
A couple of things…….. The price difference is downright disrespectful. If you’re doing something that causes a bump helmet to crack and fall apart, you need to upgrade to a ballistic helmet. I was also going to make a Delta and Pro Tec helmet comment, but it’s been beat to death. The Ops Core helmet IS sexy though.
Except a ballistic helmet isn't rated to take the blunt impacts a bump helmet is, hit a ballistic helmet with a hammer and it will cave in, do that with a (good) bump and it won't, different tools for different jobs.
I have an Emerson, I’ll be the 1st to say, it wears like shit, I have the largest one they make and with there pads and ratchet system it’s about 1/4” to small for me, it sucks as of right now, I did order some thinner pads, will see how that works out. As for the OC helmet, yes it’s quality, I don’t deny that, but I can’t justify spending $400 on a bump helmet, not when I know for a fact there are ballistic helmets for the same price, that I’ve seen video of stopping every round thrown at it, including a 12 ga slug, that cost around the $400 mark. So if these smaller companies can achieve this, so can OC, TW, HHV, yes I understand the contract issues at play but it still price gouging
This is really not a fair video a all, comparing a thin airsoft helmet with a professional bump helmet thats like 10 times the price. everyone knew the results the second they read the title. Also, totally agree this is a larp / airsoft helmet it will never ever perform as well. its not designed too, its designed to "" protect"" againts 6mm plastic bb. Would it do fine in vehicles? yeah, would it do fine if you just slip and fall in the woods, probably. Would it do fine if you fall from a cliff face and fall 60ft? no. then againt neither would the other one. Other things to consider.. you ordered a normal/thin version... that was like what.. 1 or 2 mm of plastic? They make thick one as well about oh.. 1/4 or 2/3 of an inch thick something like that? It would make a heck of a difference, but then again, still is only plastic shell. I would suggest you try with a move thick helmet that more closely represent a real helmet, a suggestion is the PTS Mtek licenced replica.
The Emerson FS Fast helmet is a little better quality, still the same chin strap cheapness, as well as a plastic nvg shroud, but still more of a durable shell
like which cut? The old one uses a different cut where you'd need that specific cover from like agilite or something whereas the new 2024 bump uses the super high cut profile so any ops core SF helmet cover will fit it.

I can’t watch him without facial hair. It’s like an imposter is out there taking his job
Hahaha... fortunately I love my wife more than I love you (I love you).

Cause I don't have $400 to buy another ops core. But I can drop $50 on an Emerson!

I’d be interested to see how the hard head stacks up
Do they make a bump helmet?
Yes. I have one.
Yes! It's Jason from Thin Line Defense!
Oh damn, you went man-mode on that Emerson helmet, & it submitted to your whim
Lol

It's meant for military operations in non combat environments, so jumping off airplanes ext.

Agreed, FMA’s carbon bump!
Did you see that guy break a bump helmet with his bare hands? He must work out. 😏
Hahahaha, this honestly made me laugh way too hard

@@ThinLineDefenseCo that makes my heart smile.
How about a review of the ferro fcpc v5? I can’t find a detailed review like y’all do
Fine!

He man skeletored that helmet.
Hahaha. It wasn't hard

@@frogboots2115 Which is why we switch over to bump helmets when we jump out of airplanes………..
Oh wait no we actually don’t do that.
Try the FMA thick and heavy version it's better than the Emerson ones
Love the hate for the affordable bump helmet....
I'd buy another

Welp....it IS an Emerson. Just FYI.
Yeah but safety wasn't first was it?
You look like a strong little pup, why dont you try and give that a tear.
Safty first, as you almost stab yourself in the eye with the glasses, lol. Good job jason crazy you broke the helmet by hand.
Y not try PTS MTEK helmet. Just pay 70 more dineros than Emerson. Ops helmet is just over price 2 much dineros 4 me.
Dude if you test one you have to test the other. Why even break the other helmet?
Pinky ups...that's why

anyone know what helmet shroud the ops core bump uses?

@@ThinLineDefenseCo the one in your video. i’m not looking for a helmet cover, but i just bought one and it’s coming without the shroud / mount
too bad there is no weight comparison.
lol you should see my Emerson helmet 😂 I need to show it because……total 360 from what ppl show
you know we want to see that helmet!
Better to compare an osha certified helmet to these overprices wannabe military bump helmets.
So strong
