I love she named her skunk flower!!! She's amazing for doing what she does ❤ not everyone knows how smart, and cute. I don't think they should be pet's unless they can't survive in the wild, as much as I would love to have one myself. But I think it's so cool she runs a skunk rescue and a valid source of information for her community. ❤
We often forget that both dogs and cats lived out in the wilderness on their own before we domesticated them, as did the cattle, pigs, horses and all the other species we have "groomed" to live with us indoors or on farms. Some people also have ferrets, spider monkeys, and sugar gliders as pets. All of these animals survived in the wild before we chose to tame them. Skunks can likewise benefit by becoming pets for animal-lovers.
Thank you for what you do for these wonderful wild animals. I have a soft spot for skunks, and I wish I had just one as a pet. But it wouldn't be right to have them in captivity.
I pick up a wild skunk in June this years he was just a baby , he not descented but does not spray , he so use to me and my four kids and cats , not in a gage free to go anywhere in the house , he eat what we eat ,but on a diet also cause he eat all the time :) and where December 24 and he will have is first Christmas , he very well spoil , and we call him PEPE best pet ever :)
I was sitting out on my front step one night 3 years ago and a skunk randomly came wandering up my yard, just feed away, sniffing around the grass... I froze as it sniffed around my lawn, getting closer until it was about a foot from my feet.. It ate bugs or something for a few minutes, then slowly went back down the driveway, back towards my back yard lol, then vanished... I later learned it lived under an old unused storage garage, in my back yard lol. The weird part was I live in a very urban area, quite far from any forested areas lol. I later learned that apparently wildlife comes into the city via the train tracks, from the direction of the industrial park, which is surrounded by dense forest. Nobody really knows why, but Deer, Raccoons, Skunks and the occasional black bear travel wayyy into the city via the tracks and favor our neighborhood lol
Thank you for this very informative video. The only thing i knew about skunks until now was that they sprayed stink all over you. Although where i come from keeping one would be impossible and anyway my dog might not like it but i will think better of them from now on. You are breaking down barriers. Well done.
I need to stop watching these videos. I don't need a zoo. (begins repeating while looking in a mirror. I don't need a zoo. (points at himself) I don't need a zoo...)
Some people do not like dogs or cats and some people love all types of animals. There is no real reason a person cannot have a skunk as a pet. remember, dogs and cats were out in the wild before we tamed them and there are still canines and felines in the wild. So, there is no reason why we cannot have skunks as pets, just as some people have squirrels, birds, fish, spider monkeys, sugar gliders, tarantulas, turtles, iguanas, snakes and lizards as pets. As long as someone loves that animal and can keep it safe and healthy. 🥰🦨
Personally, I think people should try to adopt more stray dogs and cats, and not get other species that are better off in the wild and take away the opportunities for homeless dogs and cats to find a home.
These little critters come to my house every night, they'll bang on my screen door till I give him some snacks. I admire this lady wholeheartedly. I don't admire anyone who would descend a skunk. Any more than I admire anyone who would cut the wings off of bird. Just go ahead get a dog cut his legs off put it on the chain put it inside a fence and call it your pet. I think you get my point
De-scenting a skunk is no less humane than getting our pets spade and neutered and/or getting the front claws removed from our cats that we love so much. Ferrets also have scent glands that their owners usually have removed surgically. If we are taking in these skunks as pets and we are protecting them from harm, they no longer need their scent glands as a defense, right?
Love the skunk

Long wanted a pet skunk. Probably never will. But they're very cute.

I live in Indiana. Much love from southern Indiana.

You'd possibly do better feeding them cat food rather than dog food. Cats also can't synthesize taurine so it's added.
I’m sure she knows a whole lot more about skunks than I do, but I was having the same thought. Cat food.
this woman is so awesome .
I like this skunk
God bless you!
Wow , that was informative. Geat video.
thank you
There once was a man from the city/ Who saw what he thought was a kitty/ H
awww
If i had a pet skunk I’d name her Fifi
Federal restrictions on skunks never heard of that. Here we can keep one from the wild by law.
😍😍😍😍
Learn all about pet skunks. Yes please!
I have wanted a skunk for 15 yrs. It's not legal in my state. :(
I was pretty stinky last night. I ate some frijoles with hot sauce.

I don't t like skunk as pet, in Canada they wouldn't,t allow this. What,s wrong with a dog or cat. Rescue OK then release that is what Canada does.

@@josbar2835 as if to make my point.
If your house doesn't stink enough, by all means, adopt a damned SKUNK.🦨🤮
Hothenrik4570, if ignorance is bliss, you must be greatly overjoyed.
@@sergeantmasson3669 if you can live with the stink of a skunk🦨then you deserve it.😆
@@Hothenrik what part of a skunk de-glanding do you not comprehend?
@@sergeantmasson3669 the core concept, more than likely.
Except skunk spray smells good and ya'll just have pussy noses.
