Well I finally bought DF and really like it. It focuses well, better than I have read. The controls are set up well. Since all of my FX lenses are Nikon D, using the aperture ring is fun and a great feature. The no flash indoor shots look so natural, like outdoor lighting yet no fill needed! 2X the resolution of my DX D300s after combining photo onto photo, testing. The colors also pop like nothing I have ever seen except viewing my old slides. My clients loved the large 46" prints I have made for a recent golf outing fundraiser. With LightRoom, raw, I did not even go HDR like in the past do the dynamic range. I also did a dark lit rock band, then used the front shutter dial for fast changes shooting 3 stops down to avoid harsh burn out from colored lights. The camera detected detail I could not see, like night vision, amazing impossible shots made possible. Nature shots, shooting at F11, the little larger pixels hold the foreground sharpness for a huge depths of field and no sign of diffraction.
Ravi Chandran yea, this response is late. But the DF is still a very good camera. And especially now that you can pick up a clean used model for about one third the original price. I did just that and also picked up a couple classic nikkor manual focus lenses and am having a ball. You cannot beat the image quality of this mini D4. Same sensor.
Really quite the informative review......I am an "Old School Nikon F Guy" and the Df really fits with my extensive collection of F mount lenses...Thanks..!!!
Mike, what happened?... Audio got strange here, some strange panning and just not the same feel production wise as your last uploads..., I enjoyed those :)
Not sure what you are referencing about sound or strange panning. Can you be more specific? Maybe let me know what time stamp in the video has the problem?
Mike Hagen It's through the whole video, it seems when you turn your head to each side, you get a different mic. Did you have your editor mono out the audio to Left channel only?

One small correction. You can use a conventional remote shutter release like Nikon MC-DC2 cord with Nikon Df.
Is it worth purchase now? (2019) I love only taking photographs, not any videos.

I was just smiling at the negative points you mentioned :)
So do I!!! While the camera has both digital and cable shutter release buttons, I use a Nikon AR-3 cable release.
This DF reminds me of the D200-D300 could be wrong
20 shorts before a buffer fills is okay, not excellent
This is the only video I've seen that even mentioned the buffer performance. Props to the reviewer for testing it.
