It's because it's a non- floyd rose tremolo and J uses it heavily that his guitar needs constant tuning. If he didn't use the tremolo bar it wouldn't be such a problem, but that's a huge part of his style. Jazzmasters are actually really amazing guitars and highly underrated IMHO. You'd have tuning issues like this with any guitar with this style of tremolo, and J is a "dive bomber", so it's more of an issue.
This isn't quite true...the whole "non-floyd rose system" makes no sense. So much more goes into a guitars stability than the trem...J's Jazzmasters are custom made, specifically by him. He uses very old parts and prefers older trem bridges due to their looseness. He sacrifices tuning stability for a loose trem so his vibrator is more controlled and optimized for his style.
Eu estive neste concerto!
Interesting that Lou has to explain that the reason people cant hear the vocals is because the PA is behind them. He says that to the crowds every year, you'd think by now some genius would have worked out how to solve that problem? Ten years at least of either being close to the stage or hearing the vocals but not being able to do both,
If you stand too close to the stage, you can mostly only hear the amps as the vocals come from the pa. Yes if the amps were a bit quieter you might get to hear the vocals bouncing back from the rear wall, but the problem is simply that you're in front of the units producing the vocals. If the band are using monitors, you can sometimes hear the vocals via those, but they are pointing at the band not at you so again the sound is travelling away from you.
Trust me on this, I'm not talking about the Dude, not about the sound, but the horrible roller bridge and tremolo system. You can fix this ofcourse. But it my be moisty up there in the mountains of Paredes de Coura ;-) was kind of a joke, good to see you guys have a smell of humor...

Such a killer setlist
Rare to see J so animated, he seems pretty bored in live shows now
He's not bored, he's old.
@@jackburton3540 He's only like a year older than Lou who still jumps around and headbangs and his hair is hardly grey at all. Interesting contrast.
