Best tambourine player of all time.
Haha
id keep him away from all children
he's looking like an Ewok now
lol
Poor guy seems to have a muscular seizure in lower back towards end of concert. Leaning well over to his left. Massaging with left hand. Face in pain. Leaves stage twice. Must have been awful for him.
Love the way this was filmed. Reminds me of how they did it back in the 70s when a filmed live concert showed the artists in an intimate way. Their emotions, their playing styles and interactions with each other. Slow pans, close up shots, unexpected shots with nice depth of field really elevate this excellent performance. Too many times these days the filming of such events just use cheap tricks zooming in and out quick camera changes everywhere to simulate a great performance. You don’t need that with a great band like BJM. Sound recording is excellent as well. Kudos to all.
yes
Strong agree. Seeing them in a few days and I am close to dying from anticipation!
yeah, i also like when musicians are pretending to actually play.
You get to watch A LOT of tambourine-playing...
I might not have noticed this until I read your comment and now I agree because you woke me up to it.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!
that reminds me of that night in 2015. when BJM played at Strom in munich. Anton came on stage and the first thing he said was; "no request, we play for three hours straight!"
i was simply melting away. a night i will never forget. Thanks Anton, your band and your music. you are a life-saver. not only to me, to many people. thank you!
melting away is the way to put it! this is the Jonestown I've always had the pleasure of seeing; really digging in on a decent, long set, sounding great, totally bringing the goods.
@@henrydemonfreid1985 cheers mate!
They never disappoint. I have half of a smashed joel tambourine from the Wiltern last year. Thank god he smashed it on purpose and handed it to me. It was my 60th birthday and I’ll be forever grateful!
basically a holy relic. best birthday gift ever.
I’m doing the sign of the cross as I text 😮
Haha- I’m not a star gazer- but I confess: when i accidentally bumped into Anton outside before a show. We chatted and traded cigarettes- I wanted one of his camels, which I figured were scrunched in hi left back pocket- he wanted one of my American Spirits….he lit immediately- I still have the his cigarettes AND his lighter (sorry Anton) Saving cigarettes wasn’t the idea - it just happened- how could I enjoy it? I’m so stressed 😩- hahahaha
,
I was in a donut shop in Portland and Anemone (sp) was playing. Needless to say, I ordered an extra blueberry cake donut as a result of being so impressed.
We thank you.
management
Anton interrupting the song to help Joel restart in the right time is just precious.
Time tag?

and at 25:00 ;)
Joel is on some other planet by the end of Sailor.
I’m so happy that Anton still alive and making art. I saw the BJM back in the day and this brings it all back, that messy and majestic world that they create.
I agree. It brought such joy to see a well-oiled BJM over the last few years -- but something went terribly wrong on tour after tour this year. I am pretty such at some point he started drinking. Late last year, it all ended with a bad brawl onstage in Melbourne between Anton and Ryan -- finally Anton collapsed onto his amp, clearly shaken, then the curtain starts coming down and he's just sitting there shaking and shaking his head ---had enough pain yet, Anton?
Then get home and get teated for your mental illness and alcoholism.
I had a ticket for the 23 show - but I had a bad feeling after seeing all these clip or just terrible shows -- he was riding this band so hard there was no way they were gonna please him, especially the drummer, poor guy, At shows, .Anton ping pongs back and forth from between desperation to exhilaration -- and he started bashing his band and the audience-- where were throwing things at stage....It was DIG all over again, except it wasn't a movie....this was the real deal. And man it was ugly. I think Anton will rebound, but it's gonna take some time --and a lot for these guys are not gonna be in the next version of BJM -- and I'm sure there will be one......its the only thing that keeps Anton sane. JMHo thanks.
Thanks so much for giving us this gem!!
When you try to write a song after your first guitar lesson 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks a lot for publishing this.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing ❤
Thank you for sharing 🙏💜
Great concert, beautifully filmed. Thankyou
Most beautiful
Thank's for sharing :)
Finally! Was waiting for this for so long
Thank you @Nox Orae for publishing this amazing concert!
Merci beaucoup Nox Orae pour la mise en ligne, le set était magistral au jardin Roussy 🤘🏼
Thanks for adding! Made my day! Can't wait until they come back to the US
Que genial banda!! Recién la Descubro, gracias totales!!!
This is great! Sound and video. The cinematography is top notch. Awesome production
thanks!
Brilliant, thanks for this. Just seen BJM last night here in Ireland. What a band 💚
This definitely made my day 🫶 best quality for best band couldn't be better thank youuu 🙏
I was waiting for this for a long long time...
Wow. What a treat this is. The sound, the camera work...
Love you guys!!! Keep on Truckin!
No words almost. Only, Thank You!!☮️
BJM plays in this concert a lot of songs from their last 2 albums released after covid as well as many songs from the old catalogue made 1-3 decades ago .The band’s (neo)psychedelic sound is vast and distinct with shades of VU, Stones , Early PF, Kinks, Byrds , a little Beatles and Dylan as well as some 80s bands like Spacemen 3, Galaxies 500 . BJM sound remains sharp and vital through out the 3 hour set though only two original members - Newcombe and Gion remain in the band . BJM music has a very high mental play back factor . For example, I listened to the latest Foo Fighters album (which I liked a lot) , but soon after I felt compelled to tune into this concert of BJM because Pish, Servo , Fudge and The Real were playing in my mind
The foo fighters and BJM...never heard those two bands mentioned in same sentence... lol Hope you enjoyed both.....Listen to what moves you!!
@@jgwire for me the best part of music is that one shouldn’t have any set rules while listening. I like old and neo psychedelic rock , alternative rock, hard rock, blues rock, prog rock folk/ acoustic and even jazz rock . I might listen to Steely Dan- Black Angles- REM - Nick Drake- Wilco- Tom Petty & HB one after another .
There is no rule or logic that after listening to BJM, one should listen to similar bands like Warlocks or Black market karma . In fact that would be repetitive and boring
During flights or long road trip while playing one album , my mind tells to what to listen next .
You forgot Ricky Maymi is an original member and still in the band.
Brilliant concert, I've watched several times and shared. Superb production by Nox Orae as well. Poor Joel seems in a lot of back pain later on. Almost 'doubled up' sideways.
I am a simple man, I see a new BJM concert or song posted I put it on immediately.
Enjoy this tremendously, hoping to catch a live show from them this year.
I would call their style of music, which I dearly love, Rock 'n Drone. The drone is hypnotizing. And to add, the editing of this is so cool, the smoke and the colored lighting gives a great atmosphere to the show and it somehow seems to fit the mood of the songs.
I saw them in Boston the month before this! Awesome!~ Edit: Also I couldn't hear them this good! But the venue was similarly a bit echo-ey, so I'm kinda having auditory deja vue hahaha
WOW - 3 hours! Go, lads, GO!!!
Legendary set👌Can’t wait to see them at Rock City Sunday💜
Be forever blessed, Anton.
I'm so stoked I just came across this 4:40am in the morning - treasure.... 4 guitars going off on stage live has never sounded better ...
when 1 guitar won't do get 2 when 2 won't do hell get 4 this used to be referred to as a " Southern Guitar Army" great video however my memory of BJM is '99 live Denver Colorado
4:40 am? Nose nachos? 😂
I just read yr comment at 4:40am. Anton's voice sounds pretty great too.
Man that's a nice show, really lifts the spirit.
Love this band, great concert.
Very much appreciate
Quel concert!! 😍
Fantastic
Wow~!! Such great sounds !
Beautiful music!
Forever love this band great job ❤
Vou no show em São Paulo, já comprei meu ingresso 👏
Vai Corinthians
I did not expect such a great show
Good show!!
Just as good as the 2016 show Nox Orae filmed which is *really* saying something. Nobody does live production better, really incredible stuff
Rediscovering groove based music - LOVE THIS!
welcome -- you'll never run out of BJM music....
Absolute perfection
Anton!
Brilliant performance! I hope to see you in the States next year, fingers crossed!
Absolute Blast of a performance in Columbus Ohio, Sept 27 2023, Many Thanks
estos conciertos ahi son un placer!
Sr. Carismático Films esto es una verdadera joya!
Was just at the Glasgow Barrowlands Feb 2023 show, loving the chance to catch them fresh!!
Easily one of the most bizarre concerts I’ve ever seen. Sound on this vid is great, in Glasgow it sure filled that space. I’ve only just discovered the depth to BJM and I find the mystique around the longevity of the band and it’s path fascinating
Wow. What a band. Great tunes. Great live.
amazing.
The greatest rock and roll band that has ever existed. Amazing set list, wish they had 'If Love Is The Drug' on there, that song murders live. Great editing of this piece.
Greatest ever?!?
@@TankWilliams__Jr Yes.
No doubt.
Sure, these are the biggest rock band in their apartment building…oh Jesus Christ🤦🏻♂️
@@Biroldo274 go listen the puppets of nowadays...go go
@@roccoclaps3098 no, i just listen to good music. Three (?!?) out of tune and suicidal guitars that think they are Velvet and that you call the greatest band? I'll leave them to you…enjoy three hours of cosmic nothingness🤷♂️
What a set. Incredible.
Definitely my favourite live gig ever

hey anton we got tickets to austin dallas houston new orleans and atlanta for this 23 tour. cant wait man. would love to hear “you dont even know”. see you guys soon. ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
Hey there - I see u had tickets to a string of 23 BJM shows - I was gonna go Atlanta but got a
Bad feeling about it and saved 4 hrs each way - SO GLAD I MISSED IT-
in May 22 I saw a totally different
BJM play in Asheville.
I talked to Anton at length - about ANYTHING but the show or tour - haha- they don’t like that that a
- but 22 in Asheville tour or music he was super cool- he was walking around chatting w fans and taking selfies-
At one point it looked almost wholesome- except for the mother and daughter both sporting the black logo
Been following band since before DIg - Which I disliked for
Many reasons--unfair, hidden agendas…bad blood -
So I never know what I’m gonna get …
With all those shows u- u REALLY didn’t know what u we’re gonna get-
all 23 shows ii saw we’re embarrassing and bad with e screaming cursing stopping starting again - d again weee - seer 8 terrible and he was fall dowaand suffering from the same one mental illness that catches up w him when he drinks atop the mental health meds
I heard Atlanta was bad- and I’ve seen some disturbing clips
From the shows I saw-
So…….what’s the verdict-
I will not sit through a drunk, psychotic-- yes, he has been hospitalized several times over drinking with mental ness - he quit for 14 - cause it didn’t mix w alcohol but helped
Him tremendously-
Why he is no longer sober
I can not say now - it seems all t uninspiring and evened all
Much
In DIG- that’s an edited movie- this is real life…
Oh- notice how he rail thin- he didn’t look anything like that in 22.
He looked almost
“Normal “
No beads or mutton chops. He had no rants- worst thing he did was holler “Fuck Fender “ when a tube busted -
Oh- as a recovery alcoholic- he’s not fooling anyone and he’s not even trying to-
Honestly, I truly hope u had the pleasure to seeing a great BJM show-u saw a lot of them-
Fits and starts and bullying drummer during almost
Whole
Tour--I don’t now why says -
The Asheville show was my
First- really - it was PERFECT…..and I’m sorry if you has different experience with-
With today’s technology, there’s no reason to
Give a “Bad”- what with all the sensory input-lights- etc
However, traditionalist that he is, Anton insists on vans full of eexpensive rare equipment- he had 5 electric 12 strings
On stage at one ‘23
Melee….
That’s too much-way way way touch 12 string tuning -
Listen!
Ricky has 12 string covered. -
Oh-
Notice how he kept
Getting thinner- going so far as to do
levitation interviews
And shows w no shirt
I’m sorry- I was fine in those hot club -that ls the vodka morning noon and night diet/ the muscle just peels alway, giving the drinker the pallor of
Corpse
NO 56 year old man w long thinking hair should EVER grace a stage shirtless - unless your Keith.
And lately- Anton has been NO KEITH
NOW THE ??
Where’d he go after Melbourne-
Nobody knows nobody in the know anyway-
It’s a bummer
In this one song here, I hear him sing it in 22 “I love u girl but I love my WIFE-
Here in 22, changes “WIFE” to LIFE.
Whichever he loves - he’s lose both if this I this nonsense doesn’t end-
I just don’t care anymore.
Friends ask- why do u put up with this nonsense-
“He’s he only artists whose made me cry-“ I answer
But now they are stating to me me hurt - and not in
Good way--
Lescer
Clarify- Anton stopped drinking from about 2010-11 until 2023- and he changed and so did we
Anton yelling at his bandmates will never not be funny
They played for almost 3 hours and it never felt too long.
legendary band !
Brilliant...
It’s alright Joel. You rock!!!
Can't wait to see them in Phoenix. They're my favorite band rn.
Duuuude that show !
My favorite band ever
I've seen these guys several times and they keep getting better. Except I can't convince Anton to let me do a portrait of him. I will try and try again.
what a great band, keep it up. i love you.
Best band the past thirty years BJM
Magical.
Keeping it real as usual what a band
"I feed of your...whatever it is....whatever." Joel. beautiful human.
The tambourine player's facial hair reminds my of what Louisa May Alcott said about Ralph Waldo Emerson's similar beard: "It will most assuredly deflect amorous advances and preserve the man’s virtue in perpetuity."
Finally !!!!!!!
Tremendamente GRANDESSS..❤️🔥🙌🏼🤙🏼
Legends
Uri Rennert has seriously got the chops man! Unreal.
...fantastic, period
Love this band great show
Its so good, it almost hurts.
Gion is the coolest dude on earth ! What do you do for a living ? Smoke weed and play the tambourine with the BJM !
Sweet
me encantan esas pausa antes de Drained....
Olovorgo 😭💖💖
Top Top Top Class
I love watching Ricky play guitar. He is so wavy (:
Why no live comments 39:01 out?
Genial groupe qui nous emmène très loin très loin...the dream BJM
Greatest part of bjm is AN's incessant scolding of his band members when he feels, right or wrong, that they are out of tune or rhythm during the start of a song. I used to text with him on youtube some yrs ago when he thought one of my comments wasn't complimentary enough when in fact is was all love and happiness. Guy's a fkn narcissist of course but one helluva a talented songwriter. I love Newcomb in spite of our meaningless debate. One of the best underground Indy bands ever in my mind.
SIMPLESMENTE PERFEITO MEU DEUS!!!! EU AMO ESSA BANDA ❤
Spectacular performance! 🎶♥️🎶✌️I pray they work out their differences!!! Sad to hear what happened yesterday 11/21/23. Brian Jonestown Massacre Members Brawl on Stage, Cancel Remaining Tour Dates.
Really- and Anton’s been off twitter ever- were there THAT many wounds to
Lick-? No seriously- the world is too combustible and dangerous to fly off
Handle with current political messaging stuff
I saw them in may 22 in quick Southern tour- I met him outside smoking , alone, people were passin
Not noticing him - so I talked to him fo 10 minutes - about cigarettes--we were both smoking - we traded cigs - anything but do
Not ask about how the tour is doing or even anything musical if u ever met him - ask music gear ??? He’ll talk all nite - only reason out chat ended was we
Both had prior plans inside the venue-22 was NOTHING like 23 - I’m
Still
Wondering why😊oh- I forgot- Anton’s drinking again - he seem have started sometime
Before UK tour in 23- and it got progressively worse until
Show and tour were cancelled-
Anton was drunk- but went in anyway altering sober 14 year- what a shame
No one is irreplaceable- as sad as it sounds -
NO ONE
nice, don't forget to reach for the high notes every so often ,,,,,
Just got turned on to them today via UA-cam "Dig" Doc. The twenty something years more experience and better equipment shows in this video. Cutting my musical roots from the early seventies, this music is definitely more palatable in 2022 and enjoyable! Glad to see them playing together again. Are they still more popular in Europe like Mothers Finest and other American bands? And, what ever happened to Warhows? Oh, I see tickets on sale for their 2023 tour!
I've seen them twice this year in Manchester, always fantastic. Please see them live.
@@mrichards2788 Sorry, it's too far to swim! Maybe if they play by me.
