Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts movie, coming July 2024, will include Bucky Barnes, Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, John Walker, Ghost, and Taskmaster, in a team assembled by Val! Fans have noted this lineup curiously leaves out expected Thunderbolts members like Zemo and Abomination, but Erik Voss has an explanation why -- and it all has to do with the Intelligencia, Doctor Doom, Hulk blood, White Vision, and Ghost's unique ability to phase shift using her quantum entanglement.

I reckon they will join the team later. The team could suffer losses like maybe lose ghost or red guardian then get replaced by zemo and/or abomination.

Agree with Baron and especially Abomination...this lineup is SO underwhelming! Like taskmaster but not what mcu did to it.

Not a chance this is the final line up. My guess is Zemo will either be a member who ends up pulling the strings the whole time. Or, he's the target of the team but ends up pulling the strings and turning the team into a mini war
I speculate Zemo will be a third party in this film, whilst the squad are going after another villain, Zemo will be hunting down the Thunderbolts due to their super soldier status
so civil war all over again? that would be lame.
@@sonnyankau9239 not civil war no, more a 3rd act reveal that Zemo was influencing some members. Then Val probably pulls some to fight another day, where as the more hero anti-heroes stay to take on zemo.

In this scenario I feel like it would be more likely for Zemo to be a post-credits scene where he picks up the team to continue it in the future after the initial ties to Val fall apart rather than part of the movie itself.
Reaaaally curious to find out how exactly this version of Bucky fits into the Thunderbolts’ ideology. I felt like FaWS pretty much established that he was done being an anti-hero. Also hard to see him feeling okay alongside Walker, who’s essentially a bastardized reimagining of his best friend.

I'm thinking Val probably has some leverage on him that will force him to work with this team

Bucky may be keeping his skin in the game to make sure it doesn't happen or things becoming worse

I love that there aren't many characters with CGI superpowers there's been almost an overkill with the amount of CGI action in the last few years.... Looking forward to this, Secret Invasion, Daredevil and Captain America for more of hand to hand and weapon based fights

Red Guardian being a Winter Soldier fanboy is definitely on my wishlist! I really want to see Alexei trying hard to impress Bucky & bragging that he'd fought Captain America & Bucky being all "well whoever you fought it wasn't Steve".

I’m honestly more into the idea of Zemo being the antagonist. I just don’t see how he’d compromise on his principles and work alongside super powered individuals

It's all about what the mission is. If he feels like he HAS to be apart of it. It might even be to keep an eye on Walker.

Bucky must be their handler. This is a group you send to topple a government, or to wipe out a Skrull base. Buck and Yelena could do that on their own, tbh. But you have another assassin in Ghost, a tank in Red Guardian, and a Jack of all trades with Taskmaster. You get Zemo in their for tactics, Hammer in for tech, and Abomination as your nuke.
These aren’t superheroes. They’re killers.
If taskmaster was better built up as a character and better anti hero / villain, that’d make this line up 10 times better

@@pupulauls Punisher could happen. He would definitely count as an Antihero. One I definitely would be surprised to see is Deadpool. A Marvel villain would have to be VERY powerful to warrant Deadpool to be necessary.

With USAgent being more of a support role than a leader of the group, I’m really hoping for some a-holey Walker power struggle moments ala early West Coast Avengers. Him being a mouthy prick who eventually pummels Hawkeye is one of the best things about that run.
We need the real Taskmaster, Tony Masters. Shit pisses me off that they did that to him..he's one of the coolest villains of all time and they could do so much with him. Bums me out. I do like that they added Alexi though. Having him in here is a good idea.
Imagine it’s revealed that there is a whole army of taskmasters and the leader of them is Tony masters and It breaks out into a taskmaster v taskmaster fight

I predicted that Yelena, US Agent, and Taskmaster would be on the team. I was expecting Zemo, Abomination, and a character that hasn’t been in the much yet (I was thinking of Enchantress).

A good character to introduce into the MCU would've been Bullseye played by Wilson Bethel from DD
The White Vision VS Ghost sounds very interesting.
This team having 3 products of Red Room, 3 super soldiers, and one who can go through walls pretty much guarantees that the mission requires stealth. Zemo isn't in the team because he'll probably just try to make sure most of the members die in action since he hates supersoldiers.
my personal bet is that they're breaking zemo out of somehwere, so that they can then perform ANOTHER mission using zemos intel

@@anakinskywalker3619 , that’s a great point. With the mind stone removed, vision may have received a “nerf” due to its absence. I can see how that could limit a few of his minor abilities.

Bucky and zemo played on the fact noone knew he couldn't be mind controlled anymore so I think he gets captured early and madam hydra has found the codes and bucky thinks he needs to find out what is going on very early on in the movie. Natasha might have talked about him to Elena and they work from the inside doing some dodgy stuff while figuring it all out. Zemo if he's a target probably outs bucky halfway through. I hope they move away from the super soldier serum but maybe this is the final movie involving it hence the line up

No .....it will be more close to CA winter soldier.
Shang chi fights would wipe the floor with anything these characters are capable of doing. I think it will be closer to caps style of fighting throughout his trilogy.
It would be cool if there could be some epic gunfights. Like the punisher........ who should also be in the movie....
Do people not realize that Zemo being a member goes against his whole MO?
I expect some of them just want Zemo and aren't particularly worried about any conflicts involved as long as they get more Zemo. Not all of them of course, but several of them.
But bucky working with walker makes sense?
@@harleykiriluk1556 Bucky and Walker worked together at the end of FatWS. Bucky had a beef with Walker because he had the shield. He doesn't anymore.
I think if zemo joins them it would be like the comics like he'd have an ulterior motive to it all.... Using the super soldiers filled team only as pawns which he then after achieving his goal would sacrifice them
Nope. Zemo using superpowered people as a means to an end is very much on brand...see his explination to Bucky, using him during Civil War, in FatWS.
Looking forward to probably a lower CGI more crazy choreography and fist fight scenes like Cap2/CivilWar/ShangChi. These are mostly just SS so I would imagine it would be way more fist fighting at least. And with how well they did Shang Chi as the most recent reference, this could be EPIC.
I dig it all except for the Doctor Doom inclusion. Working WITH Egghead and The Leader seems... Beneath him. I'd accept puppet master who whispered in their ear to form the group. Something to destabilize and distract the heroes as Doom gets closer to godhood.
I agree with the others being beneath Doom (besides as pawns), but I feel The Leader SHOULD (note I'm not saying is, because he isn't) be around Doom's level. Of course Doom acknowledging that is also a different issue.
It would be sick to see a kind of Espionage Winter Soldier type thing almost like Oceans 11 like a heist

But Ocean's 11 featured several different skill sets. What sets apart the three (four if you count Taskmaster) super soldiers from one another exactly?

Feels like there’s a large lizard spiny hulk like abomination missing behind the lineup there’s a big gap to fill behind them is all I’m saying (also want hammer and the tinkerer back to provide suits and tech for the team as well as y’a boi Zemo who should really be the leader of the operation the tactics on the ground)
Bucky just feels like a weird inclusion and Abomination really needs to be on the team otherwise there was no reason to bring him back

I just got to the Hilton Anaheim on Sunday and was looking all around for you since I knew you’d be here!!!! Sadly didn’t see you but loving all the vids
the movie is gonna have the Thunderbolts be tasked to kill Baron Zemo, but then later revealed that Val is actually Madam HYDRA, making the team split into two side, and by the end of it, we then have the Thunderbolt roster actually following the comics lineup~~~
The Leader being introduced before Thunderbolts could set him up for the movie
It'd be cool to see The Leader at full power. Hes had all this time to really plot something that would be devastating.
I’m holding out hope for a Red Ghost cameo of some sorts. Even if its just a throwaway team-building montage scene

I thought both visions demonstrated phase shifting powers, but gotta admit it would only take one of them for the scenes seen.
Dr Doom will likely appear in this film, either as a cameo or a major player. I predict these "teams" are all setups for the finale in Battleworld.
You think Zemo and abomination will be included in the film? I’d love to see bullseye, white vision and punisher. If these characters are including in the film as well, this has the potential to be top 10 mcu projects.
Whoever the villain or the villains of this movie are going to be, I wish them all the best because they'll go against some heavy hitters.

I am not sure about three supersoldiers (Especially Bucky) But red Guardian and US Agent are good for the team anyways. ALSO Ibpray Thunderbolt Ross will still be in the MCU as a fully CGI Red Hulk
I really want to see how Bucky and Yelena fit into the team because at the moment it doesn't seem right to me with how they were both last seen. I'm guessing it's against their will or tricked but who knows

I have to believe the only reason Zemo was in Falcon and Winter Solder was because of Thunderbolts.
I'm betting he's going to be a big part of this...
Your case is very strong, and definitely more likely, but I still hope it will end up being Zemo's original Thunderbolts team from the comics that will be the enemy. Obviously the biggest issue there is the lack of any member besides Zemo having appeared in the MCU. Of course there are reasonable places for most if not all of them to appear in Phase 5 ahead of time.

We saw White Vision phase out of a choke hold, right before he and Hex Vision started talking
I think ‘White Vision’ looked dope af in Wondavision, hope he comes back soon as a protagonist rather than a villain. Easy way to bring Vision back into the sandbox! 💯

I highly doubt he would play along with 3 super soldiers and following under Val’s orders, it would be much better if he were the antagonist to them, he is coming back to some degree with him locked in the raft
the best thunderbolts team using mcu villains would be abomination, yellow jacket, taskmaster, zemo, us agent, crossbones, winter soldier, red skull, leopard, iron monger, whiplash, aldrich killian, mandarin, killmonger, vulture, mysterio, and kingpin

I was hoping that the line up would be very similar to the original avengers line-up. But this is feeling very "bizzaro captain america" heavy
Are we gonna talk about that random gloved hand sticking up in the middle of the team-up picture? That isn't Red Guardian waving his left hand based on his pose. That is clearly another character yet unidentified. Let the speculation begin.
Red guardian is the most surprising one to me honestly, i also didnt expect to see ghost and task master thought it would be one or the other. I think its a well balanced team though. I hope bucky and yelena get together lol. Hopefully we see red guardian fought captain america when he had went back in time to fix the plot hole from the jail story he told.
Lots of people want Zemo on the team but I think they will be chasing him down in this movie.
It makes more sense for him to be the villain.
Zemo would not play team player with 3 super soldiers
He’d be a risk, even if he’d be a good asset he’d likely leave members for dead, put them on suicide missions or just outright kill members
Main villain is probably going to be red hulk, because they’re setting him up in captain anerica 4 but the leader is the main villain

Idk about y’all but I have a feeling the soundtrack for this film is going to be badass. I think they’ll have a lineup full of rock/metal….this movie is going to be sick IMO.

I think it would be interesting if, halfway through the film, they killed off half the team: Red Guardian, Ghost, and Taskmaster, and then brought in Zemo, Abomination, and someone else to take their place. It would highlight the rotating lineup of the team. But it would also probably make it too comparable to the Suicide Squade
Would be a waste bringing in those characters for a second go just to kill them off halfway through. Same thing happened with Klaue.

A major pitfall for the the Thunderbolts is it being compared to the Suicide Squad. Someone from the Thunderbolts team needs to stand out or else its going to be a reverse comparison of Justice League and Avengers.
We want to see more of the winter soldier,it’s one of the most interesting and badass characters they ruined.
I agree. I think Feige has thrown this bone to Stan to make up for how badly his character has been underplayed. Bucky is a fan favorite and has a very interesting backstory to mine. All that history between WWII and Winter Soldier!

Zemo will be the last edition to the Thunderbolts. He will be their fearless leader. Still kinda bummed no Abomination but he is OP has hell and can kill the whole team.
