I remember that! Seeing it renamed was weird to me and for a moment I thought I was crazy. Idk it was just a happier time plus back then it was my favorite song in the game. It just hits different in a way I can't explain.
C418 really had an incredible sense for music. Those of us who played minecraft back when it was still owned by mojang love this music so much even to this day. Thanks for the memories.
@@chasethemaster3440 which means that microsoft owns minecraft. Because if microsoft owns mojang, then it would also own everything that mojang owns, and therefore has final say and what goes on those games.

I remember when this song was called Where are we now before they changed it for some odd reason. I've always preferred songs like blocks or strad, but I had a soft spot for this one too. I remember my best friend at the time showed me this song when we were playing, and said it was his favorite. Good times
I think it was changed due to issues with spaces in file names, though maybe there was some other reason since they could’ve just had no spaces or use underscores; the file name reason is just the one I remember reading years ago.
Wait instantly became my favorite music disc when I first found the discs in 2013, in my very first Minecraft world. This is some pretty damn intense nostalgia. All it needs is some of those old Minecraft rain and block breaking sounds to complete the experience.
I wish I could meet c418. The guy makes great music. I partly wonder what went throught his brain with some of his music. Im sure it would be intriguing to listen to.
This song reminds me of an old run down world from childhood. Back when you would go over to your friend’s house and play hours of Minecraft. It feels like going back to those worlds, empty, yet full of life from long ago. Just walking around in those worlds feels like a joyful song, but realizing you can’t go back to the old days brings sadness. The emptiness is a whole new feeling
It's really sad that of all things we could lose to time because of microsoft buying mojang we've lost C418. To those who don't know, even though his soundtracks were in the game, they still were owned by C418. But Microsoft demanded that every new sountrack in the game would be owned by them. That's why C418 left.
@@raphcrafter I must admit that Lena Raine and Kumi Tanioka are making great soundtracks, but they fail to capture the original spirit of C418's tracks. They're just not the same.
@@ggesh9083 honestly that doesn't bother me that much. Minecraft has changed over the years and the new ost makes use experience the game in a new way.. if that makes sense. And hey, c418's music is still in the game, no need to be sad ;D
Reminds me of coming back to a nostalgic place you have fond memories of and realizing that things have changed and you won’t be able to experience the same things again, so you are left feeling comforting nostalgia that sinks a strange sense of sadness and dread along with it.

@@alextheukrainianguy yeah Strad is my favorite, so much more nostalgic than Cat. I remember figuring out how to use disks in a creative world and listening to all of them, and finally choosing Strad as my favorite.
Without C418, Minecraft's OST has fallen flat for me, Pigstep was a giant Wtf disc to me while everyone was like "You're crazy/nuts" I just don't see how Pigstep fits Minecraft's style, C418 is what I think of when I think of Minecraft style music.
i definitely agree with you, but also i think that there are plenty of other discs that aren't really minecraft style (at least how i think of it.) even though pigstep is still the most distant, i think it's okay as a collectable music disc
I agree, while most music discs still kinda fit with their calming or upbeat nature, Mellohi excluded, Pigstep... Pigstep is loud, sudden, distracting...

C418's music was not just music, it was a whole message. Every song just gives me a type of different vibe i can't explain.
Me too
nothing else will ever come close to c418's music
But also the leitmotifs of other tracks bring the feeling of familiarity. Both volumes feel tied together really well.

if you get a chance for sure check out c418's 2 years of failure, it really makes you feel and imagine! my favorite is 90_ani
