    This is an important commercial. I cried. DONT JUST CRY. Alzheimers and dementia is a killer disease.
    My Dad and Uncle died from it. I hope I don't die from it.
    100% this commercial shows the absolute weirdness of forgetting your own spouse, but remember u will also forget who u are, who your family is, where u are, and even get violent against family because they are kidnapping you. I have dozens of stories about my dad and dangerous situations.
    I was a passenger one time on a "good day," in my Dad's car. He was driving on the wrong side of the road. I grabbed the wheel to avoid oncoming traffic and HE GOT MAD AT ME, saying he was totally driving correctly !!!
    So, cry, yes. But there is a killer lying underneath this feel good commercial.

      Sorry for your losses. Hope this commercial serves to make Alzheimer's visible among those who have not suffered from it.

    It's a good short film, but not sure I'm on board with using Alzheimers to sell people a car.

      The "people in this comment section that have lived through this seem to think this is a positive, while sharing their stories, and you should not be the one calling anything out if u didn't live through it. So don't bring awareness? Just hush about it? You're one of those people ? Smh

      For those of us oldies who are caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s, I truly appreciate this commercial! My first car was a ‘62 Chevy….great memories. Later, when our children were young, we toured the US in a Chevy Suburban! This commercial brought back so many memories. Touched my heart like Clydesdales and a puppy! 💖💖💖

    Hate to be that guy but, this is not what it looks like. All prim and proper, with family around looking longingly in a pristine upper middle-class/wealthy setting ... what a movie magic fantasy. Sorry but reality is ... being left alone and filthy because nobody wants to deal with it/them/you, rotting away in a disgusting "for profit" nursing home/care facility that quickly drains funds while the under-staffed get poverty pay, and the top execs buy their next vacation home, plane, whatever. It's kind of offensive that Chevy would use this to tug at peoples heart strings ... "we care, buy a Chevy" ... hogwash! The old/elderly in this country are abandoned 99% of the time and die a lonely death. Sorry for the reality check.

    • @EsloganMagazine
      @EsloganMagazine  10 місяців тому

      Yes, the reality is always though that any story on movies or commercials. A lot of people are alone on holidays, and the family even care about it.

      It doesn't have to be that way if a family can make an effort. My mother is 96 years old and still living at home. She is rarely left alone. The children who live close visit daily. Help with shopping and meals. We've adapted the house to her needs when necessary with stair lifts and bathroom hand rails. None of us are rich. It's more labor than money to make it work.

    • @ronwilkinson3587
      @ronwilkinson3587 9 місяців тому

      @@missedmebich2963I can only speak for me, but I have to believe I’m not alone in this. My husband has FLD , every time an occasion presents itself I’m changing something in the house to accommodate him and keep him safe. I plan to keep him home with me until the end. Is it
      easy , no, . Has he become the center of my life now, yes. But to
      me that’s what in
      sickness and in health means. So I will try my best to keep him here. There are families out here who love their dementia patient.

    This one hit close to home for my brother and I. Our mother had Alzheimer’s and died in 2008.No matter what we did she couldn’t remember any of us and it was very sad for us and our children. I applaud Chevrolet for doing this, it’s the only brand my father, brother and I have driven over the years. Thank you!

      A cheap sentimental ad and so many are being suckered by a bunch of cynical ad executives. It falsely gives the impression that some with dementia can be pulled out of it for moment, when in fact, most do not. So, FU Chevy.

    This commercial is sweet.
    It's a tear-jerker.
    You'll watch it more than once and then you'll share it with your friends.
    Too bad it's 100% fake. This is NOT what dementia looks like. It was written by someone who watched too many fantasy movies like The Notebook too many times.
    Stop romanticizing the ugliness of dementia.
    My wife had a brain injury in 1994. She's lived her life since then like someone with Alzheimer's disease. My work and my studies since then have been about brain conditions and Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD). I have facilitated many Alzheimer's support groups and was executive director for the local Alzheimer's office. I assure you that this sweet fantasy is NOT Alzheimer's disease. The writers of this commercial have offended every dementia caregiver.

    • @EsloganMagazine
      @EsloganMagazine  10 місяців тому

      Sure the writers have idealized the Alzheimer on this commercial. The reality os worst than that.
