- My dad took off for a couple days so the farm is in my hands. I start out with feeding the cows, heifer pairs, bulls, and replacement heifers. After that I take a tour of a few different places we have pairs at to make sure everything is in and fed well. I weld up a new drag for the yard and finish the day with checking the cows at home to make sure nothing is having a hard time calving.

A friend of mine sent me a few videos of Sorghum chopping as i was unfamiliar with it. Yours was one. After watching it I was curious so started watching from the start. Tossed a sub your way now and will be binging through all the vids now over next month or so. I realize these ones are early day so not quite as polished yet but I still enjoy how you show various operations on your farm and not just the "best stuff" like some YTers do. 👍

What is meant by your use of the word "pairs" talking about cattle...also the meaning of "pours" when treating for flies. Great videos keep it up!
A "pair" is just a term meaning a mom and her calf, together they make a pair

We are in South West Missouri and have about 400 acres of soy beans that we got done planting at about 11:00 last night.
I can't believe how wet you people are all the time . I live on a farm in Central Ontario and we actually dry out for part of the year .Almost 8 months winter but then it gets nice. Summers can actually be hot for a bit , maybe two weeks max and then the fall starts and it can be nice

We are in northwest iowa, we got all our acres planted and we have 200 head of cattle started calving in February and finished and finished mid April
That is pretty much my life story about that time of year

Not enough moisture. Haven’t had a decent rain here yet! Keeping my 🤞 instead of expanding our herd we might be decreasing our herd

Have 3 more to calf have 82 in. Nothing planted here in NC Iowa. I use a old hog deck to level the yard. See your cows like to throw there feed out too.

We always put dry hay in every day. As long as you don't put too much in a one time it works well.

I live in ireland and I also do milk,I actually milked all our cows and washed by myself(I'm 12)we have jars ,no auto take off clusters and no auto feeders

I plan on doing a machinery tour in the next couple of weeks
you need a couple of goats to eat up all the weeds and spilled foods that attract the rats.
On our farm, the deer pretty much cleaned up the spilled foods. In the winter time, the deer would shelter down in the big grove of trees on the property, so we'd purposely spill some oats and barley on the ground for the deer to eat, since all the green grass they love to eat was under all the snow. We didn't permit hunting on our property, as we also had a pasture with most of my dad's cousin's cows in it, so the deer were pretty safe as long as they were inside our property line. Some deer hunters can get pretty careless, especially if they've been drinking, and start shooting at cows.
