Dear God, I grew up in 60s Oxford, this was so fantastically authentic and sparked such nostalgia that I searched for, and found, an old girlfriend. The memory resonates yet.
I have only found out today about this new take on this British icon and I thought it was very touching at the end of this clip, when he looks in the rear view mirror and sees the late great John Thaw looking back at him. I cant wait to see this video in its entirety, when it comes to the U.S. Thanks for sharing
Loved this scene, I'm such a big Morse fan. I cried when Shaun Evans as the younger Morse looked in the rear view mirror just as Thursday was saying where does he see himself in 20 years and his reflection morphed into the late great John Thaw. Roll on April 2013 for the new stories
this clip and that on PBS left out the nice little segment where Downing St. gets the Minister to resign. they also left out the wonderful line of the Inspector about not marching half way around the world to come back to see a spiv like teddy running the show in England. Great writing.
I'm no fan of opera but every once in a while a piece of music just pierces to the inner most being. This is one of those pieces. What is the name of this particular piece of music?

Shaun Evans did a fantastic job with this.
Hoping for more, loved it.

Really wonderful. I can't wait to see the full version AND the new series. Love it already!
Fantastic! And sad. Thanks for the post.
Un Bel Di, from Puccini's Madame Butterfly. The name of the song is written on the record she signs for him; it means, "One beautiful day."
Roger Allam!
