Looks very nice indeed, I might try that. The caraway seeds in there not only add an interesting bit of flavour but are also one of the spices that reduce the "rumble" resulting from cabbage and legume dishes quite a bit.
When I made your recipe I had left overs that I added eggs and panko to keep it together then scooped and tossed in more panko flattened them and shallow fried till golden and crispy. They were fabulous Rik!! Thank you.
I would have eaten most of the cabbage before I mashed the pots. If I make cheese and onion pie, I add the cheese sauce to the mash to give it more flavour. But I will try it with the cabbage. Might try this mix in a crustless quiche type recipe or crustles pie ❤
Wonderful yes looks so great.... We.have "Spitzkraut" in our region, means not round but like a cone. It is a smooth fine cabbage. I will try it this weekend
I always like cabbage ,potatoes,and onions together.Caraway is a favorite spice of mine,you can get rye bread with,or without caraway seeds,I always get mine with.I think that is the perfect short crust pastry recipe,and I used the same one for years.My boss wanted me to put vodka into the pastry,which I didn’t mind in principle,but when I realized I would need to go to the bar,and stand waiting for a bar back to get time to give me vodka,I decided to nix that idea.😊
