I love GE radios myself, had many over the years. I have two at the moment, but the one is strange in that when I select AM, the speaker goes quiet and the S meter at 0. But it does put out about 5watts and people can hear me but on my side its quiet. SSB is working perfectly. Wondering if it is the selector switch that is duff? I am not very clued up with a golden screwdriver 😁
Hi no not your mode switch so common on the b models %80 of the time it is dry joints on the bottom board when the boards are split there is a metal if plate covering a section of the bottom board all that section needs to be re soldered easy fix for some one with some radio tech knowledge if not would not attempt it i have over 20 all same problem when received and all come back to life no problems cheers

She made really good radios general electric made really good radios in their heavy duty and they work great on the air and they last a long time

@@jamiesradiopage9213 Ah thanks, but the A model only has a single board, unlike the B which has two boards and are generally harder to work on
