Paul, always a pleasure to see a new video from yourself, nice contest station and very similar to the one i am lucky to have access to here in France, as at my home QTH all OM POWER amplifiers.....the BEST ! Best 73
Wonder if /portable really is the best suffix for such an incredible rig 😅 maybe /professional would be more appropriate.... Great to see such an impressive setup but somehow doesn't fit my interpretation of "amateur" radio. But do appreciate seeing it. Very impressive. Thanks again Paul.
I've only ever heard 1 station on 17m hahaha good stuff! I'm happy to see it like this, and I'm equally happy not to have it, I'm not sure I would still enjoy radio as much! Cheers!
WOW ....!!! It is to much for me....Dear Paul...with my FT-840, my TM-732, my TH 78 E and my UV K-5, a multiband non-resonant dipole and a dual-band capacitive dipole, I have what I need for my leisure time, although you what you show in this video is THE JEWEL IN THE CROWN. 73's by YV2ESB.
I believe, 90% of us use similar gear as you do, hi :) but sometimes is great to visit and taste such big gun station to feel the "horses power under the chair " :D best Regards! 73
Hi Ben. 1st you have to subscribe to my channel, then hit the bell button. I try to do the livestreams on Sundays afternoon of UTC +1 hour. Time is changing and depends on my free time. Sometimes are livestream missing due to the family reasons atc.
The high RF noise on 18.113 MHz is presumed to be mainly man-made. The noise could be partly due to the antenna farm's combined active electronics. The first step is to switch off the Icom 7851 internal preamp. Second is to turn on the Icom 7851 noise blanker. Next an on/off isolation test could be made to investigate and identify the strongest QRM sources. Switch-mode power supplies are one potential high noise source. The elevated high gain directive antennas should in theory reject some local noise. High antenna gain and elevation above ground is the station's main strengths.
I’ve noticed the same straight away but hey, did you see that the Preamp 2 is active! Why in the world they had it on with such a sensitive antenna system and furthermore local noise… having a Ferrari doesn’t make you a good driver. Anyway 7851 is kinda nice.
Yes a Beautiful Rig the 7851 (the 101MP not even being in the same League IMO) but we could have done without the eye glasses left on top detracting from its beauty but, other than that, QSL!
The second model is the SU-100 self-propelled gun. At the time of the Dargovský pass, it was a relatively new weapon, because the Soviets started its production in June 1944. They used the chassis of the T-34 tank. While the tank had a barrel of 85 mm, the new model of the self-propelled gun already had 100 mm. It replaced the older type of SU-85 self-propelled gun. In addition, the SU-100 model had a width of armor on the gun mask up to 110 mm. From June 1944 to the end of World War II during the Second World War, more than 1,200 units of this type were produced. Around 1949, this model of self-propelled gun was produced in Czechoslovakia. The crew of the SU-100 consisted of four soldiers, the vehicle could accommodate five of them in total. Its disadvantage was movement in rugged terrain, because the long barrel protruded too far forward. The maximum speed on the road was 60 km/h and the range with a full tank was 320 kilometers. Consumption in summer was 250 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers, in winter 290 liters. He could climb a slope with a maximum gradient of thirty percent and was able to fire 8 shots per minute. The maximum range was an incredible 16 kilometers, of course, when using a parabolic curve. However, the self-propelled gun was mainly used for direct fire and destruction of enemy tanks, so it fired at significantly shorter distances.
Yes, I believe there are many similar placed in many other countries liberated by the Red Army after the WW2. We have also many of them here. :) Best 73!
alot of nice antennas and towers there but the noise on the band was not good but interesting video i really enjoyed that one 73 from england M7BYF steven
They have incredible grounding system. I was not able to cover whole system, but believe me, those towers has been hit by lightning so many times and all devices were safe and no damaged.
super station, super towers, super antenna , super tranceiver but 2 PREAMP and a lot of QRM, at 15:13 S7 of pure noise and bad S/N rapport . Surely if you remove the two preamplifiers the reception quality improves a lot. Maybe you don't see the s-meter marking 9+20 but I prefer a clean S7 than a noisy S9+20. And that's not all, if a weak token called you, you most likely didn't hear it or understand it. A proverb says: there are those who have teeth and there are those who have bread..
Your contesting IS much better than most. Amazing station and location. You're a very professional group. FB. Contesting could definitely be a way to get young people interested and grow the hobby. Great job. Keep it up. I'll be looking for you on the air. 73
They would have to drag me out of there with a team of horses.
What a nice station!

Slava Ukraini !!!
Excellent tour! Beautiful scenery. Great detail. Thank you!
And here I am with my EFHW and ftdx10, feeling humbled. How the other half live.
And me with a FT817 and a efhw. Yeah how the other half live. It must be terrible 😂
My exact thoughts 30 seconds into the video. Now I see how I reached all those dx contest stations last weekend. They were doing all of the work. 😂

Big guns, Paul. I bet you could hear yourself coming back around the globe 🌎 73😊
Lol, yes. It could be also possible I believe it, especially in the morning when LP and SP are present at the same time :D 73!
@@OM0ET It's the weirdest thing ever when that happens...
So you hear yourself on the same frequency? Like an echo?
I just use a random wire and barefoot.
Hodně spojení ti přeji Pavle. Krásná videa máš. 73! Jarda Sydney
Jarda ďakujem za pochvalu! Dúfam že sa raz budeme počuť počas livestreamu "Long Path to the VK/ZL" ! ;)

Nice contest station! DE R7TJ!
7851 лучше 7800 ? Или разница не заметна ?
Is newer and has better performance 😉
The 7851 also has stacked waterfalls rather than side by side as well.

Good morning from the sunny Tenerife.
What does the admiration of the murderers' memorial at the beginning of the video really mean?
Makes my 3 element flat side yagi look small
LOL, and my Hexbeam even smaller 😁
Nice antenna farm!!! One day we will log a QSO. 73
Very interesting, but from where do they get the money to support all this place ?
10:17 is a ground or radial... Sorry had to point that out.
Paul how can i follow your channel live adventures? Is there a shedule?

Wow😮. I will spend days without any food and water running those big radios and antennas hihi😂.

NICE , 73 !!

Nice antenna setup. Are they klm?
Thanks! What is klm?

Heroes of Soviet Union, not Russian. Jinak díky za video, máš to fajn, jako vždy se zápalem, tak to má být. Ty signály jsou v úžasné síle.
Surprised at how high the noise level is.
That 7851 is showing its age. Incredible antenna farm...
very impressive

S5 noise on 17m band - excellent antennas but unacceptable location, sri

@@IZ0MTWyes, I have noticed that later after the video recording and when I switched the Pamp off, the noise dropped down to S1.
