now i see crooked penny slightly different, from 50-chance-run-ruined to a potential run breaker because ngl this trick looks pretty easy to use and its very very useful
It's decently useful without tricks to snag Shop or Devil Room items you'd otherwise not be able to get. However, that role's been somewhat usurped by later items like Coupon or Mr. Me, and a lot of people just go exclusively for Angel Rooms these days. I'll definitely be using it more with this trick, though.

even before i knew of this i thought crooked penny was a great item, especially on things like greed mode. theres quite a bit of situation where crooked penny has no risk attached to it, if you cant buy the devil deal you can just gamble it, and if you lose it you wouldnt have been able to buy it anyways, this can also apply to shop or those rare item pedestals behind rocks which you can find early with no bombs. it can be especially powerful in the greed shop using the same logic as the aformentioned deal, always thought it was underrated
If I have crooked penny in greed mode, I always use it in the shop once I’m done with a floor. You either walk away with an extra penny, or an entire shop filled with goodies!

I found a really specific break In the void if you somehow manage to get a sacrifice room (in my case i did it with the red key) you will clear all the bosses of the void (you can take the items) and then tp to the dark room with the sacrifice room, in the dark room if you are lucky to get a void to get back to the void the floor is gona have exactly the same layout, the only difference its the bosses spawn new items

Well depends on the room If there is a big room that has sacred heart at the bottom and magic mush at the bottom you may need some speed plus i think it also deasapear if you pick any other item
50% chance is still 50% after using the item so if you are VERY lucky you could play this trick over and over again and I don't know come out from an item room with 6 cricket's heads.
Random comparison that might help someone in case you have difficulty with the timing. 4 frames is also the window you have to wall kick in Mario 64. So theoretically if you can wall kick in that game you can do these tricks in Isaac. Granted it's still different but sometimes just making a comparison to something you already know can help. (Just a note in case anyone's confused, I'm specifically talking about original SM64, not DS.)

The 4 frame window makes it way easier to use than the bomb cancel. However, I would still suggest trying it a few times to get the hang of it :P
