- We saw WILD BOAR on the BEACH at BAKO NATIONAL PARK in SARAWAK MALAYSIA! Who said you need to go to Exuma to see pigs on a beach? Well they have them right here in Sarawak, Malaysia and its all natural! BAKO NATIONAL PARK consists of many hiking trails. There are only 3 trails you can do if you take a day trip to the park. You can do much more, and see more of the island if you stay over night. We did a quick day trip to BAKO NATIONAL PARK and it was a perfect amount for us! We saw WILD BOAR and SILVER LEAF MONKEYS! The trail we hiked lead to a beautiful view on a beach. We would definitely go back for another round if we are ever given the chance to.

Hi The Other Side ! WOOT WOOT ! Loved to watch these wild boars, i think they looks kinda cute too, ha ha. I was excited to see one of them digging sand and catching crabs for food, that was pretty amazing. Crocodiles are very common in Sarawak rivers, nees to be caution when walking near the waters. I was surprised to see how Ana easily climb her way up to the top of the rock single handedly. Ana you Rock ! This place is so calming, it's worth the while spending your final days here in Sarawak. WE LOVED SARAWAK! Way more to explore and we will be back WOOT WOOT
If you had the budget and time, I would totally recommend going to Mulu National Park or Bario highlands. Also, Sarawak has a lot of beautiful waterfalls that one can visit. While you were in Kuching, I would recommend a visit to the Wind and Fairy caves which is about an hour journey from the city center or perhaps enjoy hot springs at Annah Rais. But then again, Sarawak is the biggest state in Malaysia, plenty of things to look around. Safe travels and w00t w00t!

OMG, you got to remember you are traversing in a lot of virgin territory which have seen very little human beings. It is really amazing to be able to see it albeit through your lens and perspective. Be very careful of the wild boars as they can charge and goad you and being wild animals you cannot predict their behaviour. They are really scavengers of food and anything edible. Currently, my hometown of Malacca is experiencing a plague of them as they swim from Sumatra in Indonesia across the Straits of Malacca into Malacca town. Can you just imagine that!!! It takes twenty minutes by boat to cross the Straits and these beasts swim across. Ana, next year's Olympics feature mountain climbing and maybe you want to head home and present yourself and Ian to the selection trial. Good luck.

Those wild boars do have tusks. The ones you came across are used to humans, so they wouldn't harm you. People have been known to die from wild boar attacks. ;-) Did you guys get to see the pot bellied proboscis monkey?

those wildboars on the island look surprisingly tame.. the ones in the jungles of west malaysia are notoriously bad tempered and potentially dangerous and they will charge.

What you saw was not the "Sinalau Bakas" wild boar but a rare species known as the "Borneo Bearded Pig". Our crocodile conservation was so good that this thing become "common" in most of Sarawak rivers nowadays and a rise crocodile attacked. Majority of us South East Asian are quite ignorance in term of plastic usage and disposal. Sad but true. Just for info., a wild boar especially an alpha male will attacked if cornered or it's mating season. Maybe the Bearded Pig in Bako use to human.
