"that went reasonably well, very well", yet was 15 minutes off target! Love your easy-going attitude! I'm doing Edinburgh next week so watching vids for some intel. I have to say I'd be very disappointed missing my goal by 15 minutes though.
Thanks Yellowfolder 😄 good luck with Edinburgh, wish you all the best and hope you hit your target 🎯 yeah I have to be honest with myself, while I'm not giving up im not getting any younger, but not accepting defeat yet 😂 that was a tough one actually after I'd ran Vancouver a month before and Manchester a month before that.
Thanks Peter ! I think I've earned a week off maybe 😂 time to think about how we move forward for the next one. I'd recommend Edinburgh to anyone, as long as you can avoid a windy day up there 😲
Hey Matt, I loved the video! It caught my eye as that was exactly the pace I was going at. Lo and behold, at 2.55, it's my feet on your right - Asics blue trainers and black socks. I also run past the camera at 3.31 - number 3014. I had a great race - managed 3.21 (although Strava says 3.19!) Thanks for the video which brought back lots of good memories. Dan
Your welcome Dan and thanks for watching. We'll done with your time, just what I was hunting for. I'll have a look at the ideo again, to see you flying by !
@@RunThePlanet Thank you my friend. I held exactly 4.44 per km but of course, we end up running a greater distance than the marathon (I ran over 300 metres more). Therefore my Strava time is 3.19 but the official time is 3.21... The official is a PB so, as a 53-year old guy, I'll take that! I look forward to seeing your other films and will subscribe.
Well done matt great run, your first half was a bit quick but reckon that was all that downhill! I would only ever do 2 marathons a year with full lengthy training blocks leading up to them so amazing you done 3 in such a short space of time! Your Manchester time looks really strong as you had all that block leading up to it, reckon you can get in low 3:20s in the autumn! 4:03 spot the fellow youtuber haha!
Great video Matt. Do you have as many achy bits as I do? 😵 (That's me at 4:15 in the yellow & blue btw). I agree with you about how lucky we were with the lack of wind
Thanks Phil ! I've got a bit of an ache but not too bad, probably as I wasnt able to push for the last 5k, had to take it easy to keep the cramp at bay 😂 Not sure about you but I tend to recovery run on the Monday after (though I couldnt yesterday as we had to travel) then every other day from then on for the rest of the week. Don't know if it works for everyone. Hope you had a good race!
@@ajaxman1000 I know alot of people have a good week of. After the last 6 months I'll be having a week off too. Maybe out tonight for a hobble but that's about it this week I think
Genuinely curious what the point is in running so many marathons that close together and still trying to achieve a specific goal without giving yourself a proper chance to recover or start a new training cycle. No amount of salt tabs and gels is gonna keep the cramps away and actually allow you to hit your sub 3:20 goal when you’re so overtrained.
Thanks Stephen, good question. Manchester, and Edinburgh were so booked along time ago. Vancouver was one that turned up. But really wanted to run it, and for me it's not all about the times, so don't regret it. I knew there was a big risk of not performing. I'm happy to find my limits too. But all that said your right, and I don't think I'll be running 4 marathons next year or atleast 3 in 2 months (let's see) 😂
Grazie, Grazie !! My Italians worse that I would like it to be but appreciate you watching, yes I went out too fast maybe, maybe not as it was downhill for the first 10k. Last 2 races I dont think I over cooked it, but you my be right !! Appreciate your comments and lets see, maybe in the future I take it very easy at the start. Hows your running going, have you raced recently ?

Thanks Ric ! I will have a look at 4:03 😂 the downhills great. I'd like to be able to train on that but with the roads busy normally, no chance I bet.
marathon champion
Haha, I wish, one day in my dreams maybe 😂 thanks Matt !
Congrats 🥳
Thank you, was a great day even without a PR
@@RunThePlanet same for me, coz this comming saturday, i will be running the Svalbard marathon, so i kept some stamina for it😅
