- Vince McMahon flying to Cody Rhodes to get him to sign with WWE was an unprecedented move that had never been done before, and we should be thankful that it went well! Clip from my appearance on Lightweights w/ Joe Vulpis #wwe #wrestling #codyrhodes
Vince had good ideas, great ideas, and bad ones, his influence on the wrestling industry will never be matched
Bad and terrible ideas not to forget.
But even worse actions. When people show you who they are believe them the first time.
@@personalsigh So what, have you ever met the man to know the man? To not known him at all to only hear some reports and say; you only amount to the worst reports.
His worst move was taking a dump on a woman during a 3 way with Johnny Ace in my book. Who does that?
@@kyledamronIf it's true, then sure that's weird, just like agreeing to that happening to you just for some money.
That was Vince's last great contribution to WWE. Like many others, it was legendary.
Yup as sick as twisted as he might be he have all of us some 10/10 entertainment
Sign a guy he buried?
Things changed. It's not like we don't know the story.
no. good riddance to Vince.
@@sirprintalot okay ...
For Cody to come back and not have a SINGLE THING about his gimmick/character changed is unprecedented. Vince said “this is what we want, in it’s entirety.”
Now we can finally call a member of the Rhodes family a champion, damn the story was finished, now Cody Rhodes has a task at hand to win the United States Championship in order to cement his legacy as a Grandslam champion in WWE
Yeah atleast won't need to tolerate this avg skilled main eventer!
The family have won tons of titles. Unless you mean world titles. And Dusty won the NWA world title three times.
@@IR17171717 and he won it when it mattered more than any pro wrestling titles in the world
@@Yesaps 🤡
Boring. And Dusty was NWA World Champ. Which was more prestigious than WWWF/WWF.
Are you under 20?
It's even crazier when you remember that Cody Rhodes actually sued WWE to gain the rights to Dusty Rhodes name so WWE could not make money off of it anymore then I believe it was only like a year later that Cody Rhodes went back to WWE and gave them full rights to the name again
I think people retain the rights to their names now like ricochet for example
@@Austin-l1j it depends on if the person puts it in their contract that they own the rights to their name because you can look up an interview with John Cena where he states that WWE and Vince McMahon owns his name John Cena even though it's actually his name there's also the reason that a lot of superstars and wrestlers have to change their name when moving to a different company
@@jacobburnette7639 John could easily buy the name back, only reason he’s not because he still considers himself part of the WWE family
@@sonomniJohn said he will never buy the rights to his name because it was wwe that made him who he is and hes probably got a life time legend contract with the wwe same as people like Austin and taker meaning even though they don't work for the company anymore they get paychecks for life it's all about loyalty vince hhh ect are all massive on loyalty you show loyalty to them they pay in back x100 this is why u never here certain people say anything that's not already public knowledge about vince and his so called activitys
Just like in the mcmahon documentary, it doesn’t matter if you sue or hurt mcmahon, if you are what’s best for business then it doesn’t matter
Bobby Lashley, " Vince McMahon had the ability to see a star that would represent his company "
except, he doesn’t because he had cody and treated him like trash until AEW showed how good Cody is.
@@subteeninhumansamuraiamphi5019before aew Cody was nothing he. Had to prove himself to vince just like people had to prove them selves to dusty back in the day...
@@subteeninhumansamuraiamphi5019No one saw Cody as a star that's why he had to go to the indies to prove himself and them become a star and he wasn't even a star in aew he was treated pretty badly by the fans
@@phonx3He was a huge Star in aew but He booked himself In a corner
@@subteeninhumansamuraiamphi5019vince saw a star in Drew years back and was right, but at the time he had to leave cause he just didn't live up to the mold and you could say the same about Cody
Cody was a top guy in AEW but a star in WWE. It's insane how he went from basically a midcard jobber to the indies then back to WWE as a megastar. The guy literally built his career back up from zero. He deserves the spot he's in right now.
Imo Cody is one of the most genius wrestlers there is today
Yeah it is a big one when Cody Rhodes makes a return at WrestleMania pure goosebumps.
Exactly! For years, I didn't realize Cody was going to the Indies. I thought he really left after Stardust.
Seeing him where he is now, I'm really glad for him.
Literally what got me back to watching wrestling
Gay
@@MartynDuro what do you mean, "gay"?! We're supporting him as a fan and now you call it gay?!
Grow up, kid!
Not to mention the build to his return was absolutely amazing. Seth Rollins was the right choice.
I still remember watching the return live, Just chills.
Trafficking a woman to Brock Lesnar to get him to come back was pretty wild
The deal is never fully done brock never got that women
Imagine if he was like “Cody… pal…. I think you’ve got another great run in you…. As Stardust….”
You are so Savage for that one 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I love It
Personally it's Vince promoting Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks on their UA-cam channel in 2018.
If it was because of hunter it would have been a surprise but the fact that it was vince himself was not an answer a majority of people familiar with how he views and treats competition especially wrestlers from said competition would have expected
Everyone knew anyway it was all but confirmed when Brandi made a statement saying she'd left her role at AEW
Cody Rhodes returning at WM was the biggest level up I have seen.
Cody Rhodes doubled the current audience
That happened only because they built Roman so good that seeing Cody win the Championship from him is a must-see spectacle.
@@hanbeitakenakasama7735 to be quite honest you have a point and you don’t
Cody was gonna draw people in regardless would’ve brought more eyes just off the story alone him having to achieve what his father couldn’t was what made this Cody
But with Roman being the perfect villain it’s also as if they got Cody for this exact reason there really couldn’t have been a better rivalry at wrestlemania but there def could’ve been some good ones without Roman
You mean, Roman doubled the audience.
@@mj2254 Roman elevated almost everyone he worked with. So much so people wanted the WM match to be Sami Zayn vs Roman the first go around rather than Cody. Roman was Codys ultimate dance partner and the story that followed over the year between Manias was probably one of the best the WWE has ever produced. Let's not get it twisted though Roman was the main attraction for it. If Cody and Roman never crossed paths then Roman vs The Rock would have been the biggest match since The Rock and Cena for the WWE.
@@dean529 so you didn’t read my comment and to debunk what you said I never said Cody’s match without Roman would’ve outshined Roman vs the rock obviously not but it would’ve been good what I think you’re not understanding is that Cody didn’t need Roman to become a champ he needed Roman to become the FACE of wwe yes but let’s not treat Cody as some jobber he put his work in and it shows
Huge for Cody.... Blessed him working with bloodline
And letting him use his music too, even tho they had to pay for it
Wow Vince flying to see Cody that crazy I never heard Vince ever doing that. That huge though wow.
He flyed to Bret hart home to offer him a 20 year contract
Vince McMahon see money in Cody Rhodes he knew Cody became star on his own now its time to make him mega star
Vince McMahon had a vision and a plan for the future of the sports entertainment
I stopped watching WWE during Dashing Cody Rhodes gimmick because everything just got stale for a while, then i came across a video of the American Nightmare and thought what just happened , saw new faces like AJ, LA knight, even Logan Paul took me by surprised I just had to get back in WWE again lol
You missed the un dashing Cody where he starts wearing mask probably best Cody's character work
Not sure if it would count in this instance, but making good with the Ultimate Warrior was pretty big. And done at the perfect moment, as if they had waited any longer, it never would have happened.
It’s still crazy how he came back to WWE while keeping his AEW look, and was STILL able to keep his AEW ENTRANCE THEME. Oh and it also HAPPENED to be at Wrestlemania.
More videos of CVV being interviewed? YES
Vinny Mac pulled some strings for Cody Rhodes
That was really crazy and amazing. Its like if Vince would have tried to bring back Hulk Hogan in the 90's from WCW.
I had no idea they did all that to get Cody.
Vince could see dollar signs bringing Cody back correctly whereas Tony Khan only cares about Melzer ratings.
Cody just didn't fit in with AEW. His storytelling, his promos and his ability to continue telling a story during a match is all things that AEW have struggled with for years. Outside of former WWE guys only MJF and Kenny can really do all of that in AEW. AEW can put on an awesome PPV with matches being amazing to watch but you just don't give a fuck about the build up to them because they are often woeful.
Bro stop being so salty and tribal. AEW gave cody everything and he was in charge of his own storyline and promos. He didn't fit as a top guy.
@@NinjaStroll Plus cody still almost got screwed over
@@NinjaStrollhe is THE TOP GUY in the biggest wrestling promotion now..😂
Lazy take. Go to bed babe.
Was a come back i wish i didn't have the Internet for.
Cody is definitely up there. I'd put it right before what it took to get Brock back, but ahead of whatever it took to bring CM Punk back (it was probably just tons of money tbh). Cody is on top of the world and I don't know who could touch him right now.
Must've stung Triple H to watch Vince bring back the guy who "destoyed his throne" during his run in the rival company (that he helped build), to be the face of the WWE lol
An active wrestler staying an active wrestler isn’t the greatest comeback. Undertaker coming back at WM40 was absolutely insane.
Brock Lesnar … I like what I see.
this is the answer I was looking for
Vince said O Nah, we gotta have him😂
I watched Joe in vlog squad videos and had no idea he liked wrestling...man, i always knew he was cool
Right? He was the last person I expected to be interviewing Chris haha
That pile driver was the craziest move in history
The brett hart deal was pretty big too. In the contract it had it that in the last month he was in the wwf he could shape his legacy how ever he wanted, or something like that.
Vince always did that, he did it to try and get Bret Hart back in 1996
If you believe the McMahon allegations, I’d say it was forcing a woman to make sexual videos and promising sexual acts to get lesnar back.
Vince made some great moves before he had to step down.
The fact that vince flew to cody a man who values every minute of his time and guaranteed that man to be the top guy is crazy
when vince focused on getting the Hardy Boyz back to WWE and how they returned. love it i want them back in WWE again
vince using janel grant to try to sway brock lesnar comes to mind
Vince McMahon is the smartest man when it comes to wrestling. He’s always had good ideas and great ideas.
Boby lashleys championship runs, country brock, post covid roman reigns and Cody proved that Vince could still give out the magic.
worst thing Vince has ever done, now we have to watch Cody with the title trying so hard to be on the same level as Roman Reigns without a title .
Cody left WWE because of stardust gimmick right?
yup. he knew he was gonna be pigeonholed into that gimmick
@@ethan-rayit was a test from vince just like the dusty and the pokadot gimmick..... Vince don't like people who have to be baby fed there carear if u look at most of the mega stars vince made they all had gimmicks at the start that were hard to get over.... Rock Austin taker hhh hbk to name a few they had to make there own road soon as they used there own intuition and thought for themselves and made it there own then that showed vince they had a bit about them then he pushed them to superstardom
@@Missminx01test? Nah. Not really, they just doesn't see him as the top guy. They never had a plan for him, he even proposed however no one listened to him. Walking away from WWE did wonders to him, he found what made him a star.
Not allowed to talk about Brock Lesnar
Triple H calling CM Punk on Thanksgiving to have him appear that same Saturday
And CM Punk is back on at NXT as a special official referee. That says a lot.
@@serene1275it says those ratings for NXT are going to be good!
@@HIVPositiveMD
Oh it already is but your right CM Punk will raise it through the roof! His talks with both Ethan and Trick were good too. Ethan is not amused as if he can get CM Punk to help him cheat. 🤣
Chris im just an average guy but I swear I want to meet you one day 😭😭 I don’t get to meet people who love wrestling
just go to a local wrestling show man, there will be plenty of lovely welcoming people, that’s how i met some of my best friends to this day
A former UFC fighter/pro wrestler mentioned on a civil court complaint begs to differ on this assertion.
"We would never tamper with a contact"
Vince had done that multiple times. He flew to meet with Bret to get him to re-sign.
Wait a sec isn't this the guy from David dobrik's vlogs
What would Cody’s theme song have been if they didn’t get the current one he has?
Holy Sh**... I've never seen Vince do something like that for any superstar. He REALLY Wanted Cody, I guess..
Hunter actually swallowing is actual hatred towards Punk and signing him again was also a big deal
Vince knew Cody was a threat on AEW
What are these clips from
CARZIEST: The Rock trying to weasel his way back into WrestleMania
Where is this interview?
It’s on Joe Vulpis’s UA-cam channel. His podcast is called “Lightweights” 👍
Vince McMahon even leaving that company still a pulled a move for it to survive and go on
That’s right Vince brought Cody back promised him the title at Mania look how it all turned out now that Vince is no longer are we going to miss great chance of bringing others back ?
It's going to be better now that he's gone. People that should have had a legends contract a long time ago are finally getting it. They'll probably get Hall of Fame as well.
vince apparently offered lesnar a person that's pretty grazy
Cody was the move
That was pure business.. You want to kill your competition...get the main organs...one by one..
Adrenaline, Vince has no soul😅
It 1000% has to be Vince sending Ms grant to Brock to get him to resign with the company
The real answer is the INSANE promises Vince made to Brock to entice him back.
So he knew he was the next face of the business. As always.
No matter the huge criticism of vince mc man, he was a man who loved wrestling with all his heart and did everything he could to pave the way of wrestling these days. Without him there would be no wwe and there wont definitely be wrestling.
Vince Mac is the heart and soul for the pro wrestling/sports entertainment, his contributions to the industry will forever be remembered regardless of his bad decisions at times,he is human too and he has made some mistakes at the same time given opportunities to the wrestlers/superstars
Yeah but let’s be honest he wasn’t supposed to do anything last wrestlemania but the FANS forced the decision
I dont think it was hard, I think cody always wanted to come back.
For as bad of a product Vince has turned out at points in his later years, the man knows what the power of someone as over as Cody can mean….well, considering what happened with Sting maybe not but that was more of a WCW thing I think…
Vince is a genius lol
Heard Vince and panicked thinking Brock Lesnar was coming after
Grown men talking about wrestling cool stuff
Probably the only good move Vince made in the last ten years. Good on you Vince.
Cody wouldnt go back if it wasnt for his family history
Hhh face to face meeting CM punk and got him to come back to wwe
Did the same to keep bret?
there's a litigation right now about what Vince did to get Brock back lol
CM Punk after he had left the first time with the WWE belt
At least Vince did one thing right
He also gave us heel Roman Reigns before leaving
@@svrking14 yep back in 2020
Vince has done more right than wrong my dude. Wrestlemania, Monday Night Raw, promoting some of the biggest names ever. So stfu
@thetruthisreal4033 how dare someone criticize your favorite billionaires
Yea, and that one thing is the freakin WWE itself!
Nah nothing tops WWE gettin CM Punk back. I still don’t know how that even happened. 😂😂
Based Vinny Mac
Chris being a Canadian and not choosing Bret coming back is almost treason in his country right?
Hate on Vince, but he was responsible for the Cody push until he got booted.
I dnt think they should have let Cody be champion so quick..
wtf are you talking about? Vince talking to somebody in person is unheard of? What are we talking about?
Nah the craziest is whatever Vince did to resign Sable after she sued for sexual harassment, he resigned her into a story line that was sexual with her… again.
Vince, Sable, Lesner…. Grant. That’s a wild Love quadrant.
Not really. It was the SA stuff with that woman and Brock Lesnar
If Cody Rhoades not being the 1 to end Roman's title reign he wouldn't have came back at all imo
Spanish fly
I wonder how much him and Vince planned things out before he "retired"??
[Then how much of that plan stayed the same??]
Unprecedented for a talent whose contract with another company was up, sure.
Unprecedented? Vince and Linda flew to Phoenix to talk the Ultimate Warrior into returning after his summerslam robbery set the precedent.
The last great contribution to wrestling Vince made
Triple h got Cody back not Vince 😂😂😂
