And this Vince statement feels like, 'don't touch this link if you are not 18+'
Nah Diddy wayyyy worse😂😂 Diddy had people killed and then took every penny they ever would’ve made and used that money to do all this shit and pay off all those people
I completely agree. It was a pretty good documentary for people who no nothing about Vince or the history of WWE and for those that do the interviews were insightful from guys we haven't heard from on certain topics. I feel like the producers might not have been able to go into more on the allegations because they likely had an agreement with Vince and WWE, so if they really shifted the focus of the documentary then Vince might have been able to sue or get it taken down. The $5 billion WWE/Netflix deal might have something to do with why they didn't go too hard as well. My thoughts are Vince did amazing things for the wrestling business, but still... Fuck Vince McMahon
Vince McMahon was holding back so many talented wrestlers in favor of big sweaty men and wrestlers with good looks. To true baby face is Janelle grant of filed a lawsuit and forced Vince to step-down and now WWE is flourishing without him.
Most of us know this is nothing new, covering crimes, shady deals, drugs, S abuse of ring boys, deaths on stage, etc! What is baffling to me are the numbers of people still supporting him!? Just because you had fun watching a product doesn't mean garbage humans made it! He didn't not "create" wrestling! He ruined it!
People need to report shit immediately, not take decades to say anything. Speak up, right away. That way, guilty parties can't hide behind "statute of limitations".
The problem is people did speak up back then but the world wasn’t as morally aware as we are nowadays. That female ref that Vince r*ped spoke up all those years ago yet Vince was never punished.
@@Buskeeeeeeee Use real words. Say "raped". Self censorship is asinine. Who did she speak up to? They've got cameras in their faces every week on live TV and nobody's ever taken that opportunity?

(also all us fans knew he was a terrible person for years but still the shit that came out was crazy)
Not sure. The business going national was inevitable. The territories were never going to survive the proliferation of cable TV. However, wrestling was very popular in the 70s and 80s, with the only difference being the lack of national media coverage, which would have almost certainly happened as the business grew. However, what might not have happened was the steroid trial, the death of kayfabe, and the resulting generations of wrestlers who have no idea how to do anything but flippy moves.
Yep...Charlie is spot on. It's a doc for non wrestling fans to get up to speed. I've been watching WWE for 36 years, and there was nothing earth-shattering in this doc.
Ngl, I walked with a huge amount of respect for McMahon after this documentary, guy is all about business and would even kick his own family out of the business if it was what's best for the company. That is respectable as fuck, not many CEOs are like that.
Just started the 1st episode and right at the start they flash a 1 second title message that says: *The majority of the following interviews, including those of vince mcmahon, were filmed before the SA allegations became public* 🤦 nice try nerflix.
WWE Vince McMahon DVD they produced told more about Vince McMahon than this Netflix documentary. Everything in the Netflix documentary is old news, rehashed stories. Plus the entire Internet Wrestling Community already knew these stories. This Netflix documentary was a dud it didn’t provide us anything new or groundbreaking.
It was disappointing to me that it's just another money grab like wrestling is, nothing is new info but it might be very interesting for people who didn't know about him before
I think this docuseries is made for the casual viewer who knows nothing much about wrestling and the issues with Vince I'd say as a wrestling fan, I'd only watch this with someone who knows nothing about wrestling, since I think the kicker would be people's fresh reaction to stuff they don't know
Not a whole lot of new stuff for those that have followed wrestling news over the years. One thing that did catch my attention, was that Shane McMahon said himself, that he did stunts that Mick Foley would hesitate to do, to get his dad to say, "good job" or "I'm proud of you". Or even just a hug. He was also described as the "nice" one of the family.
@TheRealDirtyDan31 yea you right i live by the motto have no regrets, i feel everything in life good or bad is meant to learn from and grow, i have absolutely zero regrets and never will life if a wild ride after all

I didn’t like the documentary since it wasn’t really about Vince McMahon for most of the time but about WWE throughout the years and what made them as big as they are. Almost nothing about his personal life whatsoever, i don’t get to know anything that i already have. 3/10 at best.
The series legitimately didn’t teach me anything I didn’t already know. But I’ve been following wrestling for over 25 years. I know a thing or two. I was surprised myself that actually left out certain stories or didn’t go further into detail on other subjects. But after watching it, I felt the same way I do. Yes, Vince has made horrible choices. But without a doubt, wrestling as a whole would not be where it is today without him. So I thank him for that.
I watch WWE so nothing new for me the doc but it’s annoying that vince has probably ruined his rep coz he’s honestly one of the best promoters/buisness men ever
8:40 I think the funniest part of this from the doc was the whole Brett Hart thing. "I walked in, hands by my side and let him hit me" Clips show a crowd surrounding trying to seperate the two
I'm wondering if the original intent of this doc was to schmooze all over Vince and WWE. But halfway through production, the allegations came out, so they had to change course to distance themselves from white Diddy
It's basically a catch up so that when it makes it's premiere on Netflix people will want to tune in. I wouldn't be surprised if it came out they hired people to make it seem like it was a dark revealing documentary, saw a dude on reels acting like it was trauma inducing doing the entire "This is me after x episodes of the Vince McMahon documentary" format.
The documentary sucked. Even if you’re not a wrestling fan you’re better off spending 6 hours doing your own research or 6 hours doing absolutely anything else.
I really enjoyed it. It's a ten thousand foot view, which for a general audience is decent to hold their attention, but for fans it isn't really enough. That's fine though considering WWE is moving to Netflix in 3 months

Vince McMahon is a shit human, BUT he is a hell of a businessman. Do you not understand the timing and reason Vince made such a fuss over this documentary? He made a "Live Action Trailer," and it worked. Everyone flocks to watch the show to see Vince's secrets he is afraid everyone will learn. Good Business.
Vince is an incredible promoter. He made the entire wrestling market into what it is today. However, he’s also a demented sociopath.
Hes probably done worse but in my eyes, him sexualizing his daughter for business was the most despicable he could have possibly done.

in the defense of the documentary makers, it would probably be impossible to get any new insights from him had the focus been on the allegations, I'm sure they do want to spread this information around but can't be too direct so putting it between wrestling history and challenging him periodically was a better way to go.

I mean Vince is pretty smart when it comes to business tactics, when I hear his statements about documentary and how much the documentary avoided those topics it makes me feel like they are in on it with Vince and he doesn't really care if some of the allegations come out cause he knows most people don't really care and those who do care, already knows about them. And this Vince statement feels like, 'don't touch this link if you are not 18+'

Charlie doing a Vince McMahon impression gave me a heart attack 😭
Vince McMahon was holding back so many talented wrestlers in favor of big sweaty men and wrestlers with good looks. To true baby face is Janelle grant of filed a lawsuit and forced Vince to step-down and now WWE is flourishing without him.

People need to report shit immediately, not take decades to say anything. Speak up, right away. That way, guilty parties can't hide behind "statute of limitations".
Well then the stigma and shame surrounding sa and other things needs to end
The problem is people did speak up back then but the world wasn’t as morally aware as we are nowadays. That female ref that Vince r*ped spoke up all those years ago yet Vince was never punished.

to all the non wrestling fans just know that as well as being a devil irl Vince is also easily and by far the most important figure in Wrestling’s history likely to never change. Vince popularized and shaped the sport into what it is today. without Vince wrestling is completely unrecognizable. that’s what makes him being an evil piece of shit so much worse.
Nah, Pro Wrestling still would’ve been huge even without him

That is respectable as fuck, not many CEOs are like that.
Just started the 1st episode and right at the start they flash a 1 second title message that says: *The majority of the following interviews, including those of vince mcmahon, were filmed before the SA allegations became public* 🤦 nice try nerflix.
and?
Because it was that’s why Vince is in the doc and why it doesn’t delve deep into the recent Vince situation
The funniest part about the whole docuseries, is that someone actually paid Dave Meltzer to give his opinions. 😂
We need a wrestling equivalent of 50 Cent to make an authentic movie about this jerk
It was disappointing to me that it's just another money grab like wrestling is, nothing is new info but it might be very interesting for people who didn't know about him before
I think this docuseries is made for the casual viewer who knows nothing much about wrestling and the issues with Vince
I'd say as a wrestling fan, I'd only watch this with someone who knows nothing about wrestling, since I think the kicker would be people's fresh reaction to stuff they don't know
Not a whole lot of new stuff for those that have followed wrestling news over the years. One thing that did catch my attention, was that Shane McMahon said himself, that he did stunts that Mick Foley would hesitate to do, to get his dad to say, "good job" or "I'm proud of you". Or even just a hug. He was also described as the "nice" one of the family.

Vince fell off since the lawsuit
Fell off long before
It's basically a catch up so that when it makes it's premiere on Netflix people will want to tune in. I wouldn't be surprised if it came out they hired people to make it seem like it was a dark revealing documentary, saw a dude on reels acting like it was trauma inducing doing the entire "This is me after x episodes of the Vince McMahon documentary" format.
