Even with my tiny bookshelf I never leave my room
I only keep books I liked, above 3.5, and only allow myself to own 5 unread books at a time but if I had that many unread books I’d stay in my room and never leave even though I already read all day anyway. It’s so exciting especially when I watch a book tube video and someone mentions them loving a book I own that’s unread and if I had many that would happen so often I’d read more than I breathe. I own vicious and haven’t read it yet and when he mentioned it I grabbed it and am gonna read it next.
I just started college, its pretty awful. I'm trying to make friends but I'm really introverted and I'm struggling a lot. Anyway basically what everyone goes through when they start college
Making friends in college is hard, especially with the pandemic. My first semester was really rough. I came home every 2 weeks, my roommates and I didn’t get along that well, and all the clubs were shut down due to Covid. Things started getting a lot better in my second semester though, so I hope everything works out for you!

Same. I only keep books I like. Books are meant to be read so if I wouldn’t reread or recommend it to friends why keep it? It’s a bit annoying because I only allow myself 5 unread books at a time and my shelves aren’t that full even if I read a lot but I only keep books I give 3.5 or above because 3 is a very indifferent rating for me. But I’m also guilty so when I donate those books that I didn’t like I buy paperbacks of my favorite books to donate with them because I wouldn’t want them to waste their time even though I know that someone could potentially hate my favorite books and love the book I hate.

Even though I KNOW it's a "k" sound, I still read it in my mind with a "ch" sound and I don't understand.

Please read it, it’s really really good, the writing is beautiful and the story and characters are great, and the Wendy just makes you want more and the sequel comes out I like on the 6th or 8th of October but it’s rly good and it’s a romance and it’s just rly good

@@vanjakatarina1517 Heyyy, this is one of the best books I've read this year. The writing style is good, it has a very touching story and it's short - I read this book in a day. You can see the main characters grow, deal with emotions- some of which you may have experienced yourself and can relate to. This book revolves around family, friendship, love and everything in between and who knows, maybe by reading this, you might discover a key to the secrets of the universe!😉
So go read this book as soon as possible, and I hope you'll have a wonderful time reading it!

I had wanted to read it for a long time and literally read it when my family wanted to watch the show. I read a book, then we would watch the episode that partly followed. I didn't find it that enjoyable and thought it was kind of unoriginal.

@@youraveragewarlock923 I love the characters too and the series was fine just not my favorite. I love Jem, Will, Tessa, Jessamine, Emma, Julian, and the rest of the Blackthorns as well.

I finished The Book Thief about 4 days ago and it completely destroyed me😭😭💔💔 I loved it, especially since it was narrated by Death as well, which was a very interesting point of view and really makes you think about things. Also, I want your jumper😍😂❤️❤️

Hey Jesse! I really loved your V.E Schwab shelf, I only read one of her books which is "The Invisible Life Of Addie LaRue" and I freakin' loved it! It was awesome! I'm hoping to read more of her books. Also, I wanted to ask that did you read the life of Addie LaRue? @@kartikeyshukla3243 in my opinion it's worth picking back up. I mean, honestly, it doesn't rank over the rest of the PJO chronicles in my opinion but ,by the second book, I started to appreciate the series. Id say my favorite in the series would have to be the third or fifth book.
Umm I recently got a Bronze medal for a grammar competition and got the highest marks in my grade.

@@emmabrill331 the reason I call this series “trash” is because of the characters. They become increasingly insufferable as the series goes on. But I love it regardless because of its mythological elements
I’m doing great! Almost done reading the entire Fred the Vampire Accountant series😅 I picked up the first book because it seemed like a different direction to go in for a vampire book and then decided I really liked the main character and had to commit to the other 6 books😂

Aw! Cute ask: exciting thing in my life was a spectacular busking band my friends and I caught outside a tea shop. Turned into a PARTAY
I had the same problem with ruin and rising!! I remember trying to give it so many chances but I never got past the first chapter. bUT tHEn, I watched the shadow and bone adaptation which made me root for mal more so i decided to give ruin and rising one more chance. Then I flew through it in one or two sittings!
I've been wondering if the show would change my opinion of the books. I read six of Crows first and loved it, so when they said they were making a show I picked up the original trilogy, barely managed to finish the first book, and never finished the second. Maybe now that I've seen the show I'll give it another try.... They really did fix Mal in the adaptation
After reading King of Scars and Rule of wolves I found that I liked Ruin and Rising a lot more!! And just rereading helped it I think. So I recommend rereading it!!
Recently got a bunch of manga from a friend, so might finally start Fullmetal Alchemist soon! Almost done with A Court Of Thorns and Roses!

**1984 SPOILER WARNING**
I read 1989 for school and I really enjoyed it but my interest kinda dropped off at the end as well. Like at the beginning I was like so worried about the main character (I forgot his name cause I’m horrible with names. Don’t judge me lmao) but then I literally didn’t care when he was being tortured. Like obviously it was jarring reading how he got tortured but I wasn’t really concerned specifically for the safety of the main guy.
My life is very coor rn. I am applying to art school and that is something I've wanted for sooooo long!

I'm not much of a reader (yet), so I only have two shelves with books on.
1st shelf:
worst: a stupid book I had to read in 5th grade, it's called "die Vorstadt Krookodile", "the suburban Crocodiles"
best: Goethe's Faust Part 1

worst: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
best: either Ashoka (yes, a Star Wars novel) or Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

I am currently reading The Book Jukper. Love the concept it's not super grabbing my attention though.
I just finished reading the first Vinland saga book yesterday and am about 3/4 through The Memory Police. That fist Vinland book had me SO emotional, even though I knew it wouldn’t be happy.
How am I doing? 🤔 Well, I am sitting in bed at 3pm, it is raining outside and I am watching UA-cam... Is kind of nice actually.
Anything exciting happening in my life? 🤔 Did I mention we are in lockdown again? I live in Melbourne, Australia and apparently we are close to hitting the world record for most days in lockdown, so that's fun 🤣
I tried my hardest with Geekarella but I couldn't do it. I gave up after the first 100 pages because I couldn't stand the "I'm not like other girls" trope that was ALL OVER the place. And I just have a really big issue with Cinderella retellings/Cinderella in general. I just can't stand evil step parents and some of the things the MC's stepmom did were just so awful and unbelievable I couldn't continue, it made my relaxing reading time beyond stressful, more than any other book I've read.
Currently I'm reading Graceling by Kristin Cashore and it's pretty okay so far. I've some issues but it's starting to grip me now.
OMG Jesse Im so sorry but I actually liked Fairest more than the other Lunar Chronicle books (Cinder was good tho) BECAUSE it didn't make me feel sorry for Levana but it made me see and understand why and how she was so twisted.
I'm currently reading King of Scars for the first time. It's been a minute since I been in the Grishaverse and now revisiting with Nikolai(who is not a favorite for me) is a little weird but Im happy to see the other characters like Zoya and Genya and David and possibly Nina.
Ok everyone keeps talking about VE Schwab so I bought a darker shade of magic and I could NOT get through it. The characters were so boring and cliche. Everyone keeps raving about it but it just dragged for me. Soooo any other VES recs??? Maybe one I might like??? I want to give her another chance but I'm scared after feeling so betrayed by a darker shade of magic
I recently read the first two books on the Folk of Air trilogy and like 1) I HATE first person present and 2) the writing is very simple YA. But also I couldn't put them down and I'm buying the third one this week??? Like I literally stayed up soooo late to finish them and I was reading them at work instead of actually working (even though I have a major project that my boss needs done asap) and thats why I haven't gotten the third one yet lol. I'm not allowed to get it till Thanksgiving weekend when I actually have time to read it haha. So that's my trash series. Objectively they're actually not that good, but the main character is just such an awful person and she causes so much drama that I have to finish it. I love Jude so much. She's terrible
Leigh Bardugo is... I like her books but her writing is hard for me, like just write in first person already please. And YET i find myself thinking and talking about them SO fucking Much I dont know what kind of deal with some devil this woman has made but it is insane

If you want to read more fantasy I think you should explore David Eddings! He wrote the Belgariad and Mllorean series, and they are both set in the same world!
