We visited my wife's sister back in the 80s and they rented a VHS. The Terminator. We looked at each and said, ok this will be a joke. Uh, boy were we wrong. Still one of my favorite movies.
The first two Terminator movies were awesome! But my favorite was the first Terminator movie. I loved Arnold as the evil Terminator and Michael Biehn as Kyle Reese. The whole cast was great! Memorable and exciting! I'd rather forget everything that came after Terminator 2: Judgment Day!
Great episode guys! Would like to hear Chris' opinions on the films too. I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who places The Terminator ahead of T2; the latter is obviously brilliant, but the original just has something about it. Probably because it's actually a horror film at the same time. Also, T3 is definitely a great film and doesn't deserve the hate it gets. 1. The Terminator 2. Terminator 2: Judgment Day 3. Jesus H, I just remembered I had a dream last night that I ran into Pete Pardo at the Hampshire Mall in Hadley MA. He was going into the movie theater. I told him the UA-cam channel is great. He was very gracious!
There's a really good essay by David Foster Wallace called 'The (As It Were) Seminal Importance of Terminator 2", where he lays out why The Terminator is far superior to Terminator 2 (action porn, cheesiness of the relationship between Arnold S. and Edward F. etc.). Even though I don't agree with him completely and I like T2 a lot, to me The Terminator is still the best in the series (and one of my top 10 movies of all time). To say they both still hold up pretty well is almost an understatement. And now, thanks to you, I'm looking forward to watching the other four (either a second or third time or for the first time (Dark Fate)). Great video, guys! Cheers.
I'm a fan of Linda Hamilton's acting in T2 - when she's freaking out in the psych evaluation, yelling "you're all fucking dead!" I dunno, I loved that scene. Then when she's escaping and the elevator opens, T-800 steps out and she goes into full slasher movie victim reaction - solid stuff in my books. Lastly, when she's approaching Miles Dyson's house, intent on killing him, she has this kinda cold serial killer look to her - she's become the terminator now. This fucking movie is amazing. Great episode, guys.
Terminator 1 Soundtrack is actually a great piece to fall asleep too - as I did last night - what a coincidence...Love the Monsters Den - Keep up the Great Work Pete and Crew
I've only seen the first three and haven't watched any of the later movies for various reasons, but you guys have convinced me to give the others a shot... well, maybe not Genesis. No surprises here, but here's how I rank the three I've seen: 1. T2 Judgement Day: (the gold standard of action movies) 2. Terminator: (you can really see how James Cameron was going to go on to be one of the all time greats, plus Stan Winston's work is amazing as per usual). 3. T3 Rise of the Machines: (my father took me to see this in the theater and I loved it.)

Very nice rating with a missed opportunity tho for some debate on the Linda Hamilton acting issue imo. Like the other commenter said: "Linda Hamilton's acting was good and very believable in Parts 1 and 2. It was not bad and it was definitely not terrible." Agreed and I'd go even further in that for me she did a great job, especially in the part with the asylum scenes. I even loved her voice over part and don't quite get the critique here. Musings do tend to "come out of nowhere", so I don't see any kind of problem there. I do acknowledge that it was kind of en vogue among film critics once to simply write off voice over scenes as "forced" or some kind of cheap "trick". So anyhew, Peter kept going on abt Hamilton's "terrible acting" in T2 which is all well and good as far as personal preference goes. What I found interesting tho, is the total lack of opposition from the other guys here. Nor was it clear whether both of them wholeheartedly agreed. Minor but not unimportant point in a very enjoyable ranking vid. Cheers from Amsterdam! Oh and T2 is definitely my favourite, mainly bcz of the superbly acted villain.
Totally agree. I think her transition to this hardened character, tormented by our fate and fear for John is so believable in T2. I feel the scene where she is unable to kill Dyson is especially well acted. She really emotes a conflict of emotions which ultimately tilts to forgiveness and compassion when she looks at John. Also, I think her physical abilities are also very believable. Arnold helped train her for the role I believe. Edward Furlong on the other hand…
The voice over was added to the end of Blade Runner totally unnecessarily and pointlessly really giving it a bad rep, but I’m ok with it here. I never had any issues with Linda, just loved we were getting a strong woman and I think it was great casting. Very difficult to separate first 2 movies, I just think Terminator was brilliant and T2 a brilliant sequel. The worrying thing about T3 is that with advances in AI and medical science, that storyline still holds!
Great ranking guys!! Not surprising what the # 1 & 2 spot would be. I agree with Craig & Jamie T1 over T2 for me. I just love the grittiness of the first film!! I love T2 but it's a little bit slick looking for me, but great action scenes. Pete I agree with you on Edward Furlong's acting, some of his lines where terrible. I really like T3 as well, just like you guy's said there seemed to be a lot of care put into it. With Salvation the first half was pretty good but then falls apart towards the end, but at least they were doing something different unlike the other sequels. Genysis is a guilty pleasure for me, I enjoy watching it cause Jai Courtney acting is so terrible it's like watching a train wreck. lol. I got 2 movie recommendations for you guys. Pathfinder with Karl Urban & Moon Bloodgood & a newer Arnold movie called Sabotage with Sam Worthington. Sam's actually pretty good in it. Cheers!!
When I was a kid me and my buddies used to make fun of Furlong's performance quoting some of his lines and over the top delivery. "I order you not to go!!!!" lol. That said Terminator 2 is my favorite of the series and one of the greatest sequels of all time imo. First Terminator is amazing as well and a very close 2nd for me.
It goes without saying that Terminator is one of the greatest franchises on the planet and has given us some of the most iconic movies of all time but some of them haven't been perfect especially the last one. Aside from that, you won't find anyone who doesn't know who or what Terminator is, it's such a huge part of pop culture history. This was a hell of a show and thank you so much for doing this. Here is my ranking 1. Terminator 2: Judgment Day 2. Terminator 3. Terminator: Genisys 4. Terminator: Salvation 5. Terminator: Rise Of The Machines 6. Terminator: Dark Fate
I honestly wanted to see the next SALVATION. I FELT Worthington played the Jesus roll perfectly. And Bale rocked it !! Actually better than any of the ones beyond 1 & 2. Thank you Pete for the platform.
Yeah I agree!! I wish it was written better & had a better ending. It at least was going in the right direction. Not sure why they haven't tried again to do a trilogy of movies showing John's rise as the leader of the resistance!! All we keep getting is a rehash of T2.
On the one hand, Linda Hamilton may be a horrible overacting actress, but the scene where she racks the pump-action shotgun slide single-handed is freaking AMAZING. It's one of the details that only impress you when you've used a shotgun before -- that slide is not easy to move. It definitely puts the cherry on top of all the scenes of her devotion to physical fitness.
I have only seen Salvation once. Don't remember much about it. So, have desire to watch it again. Dark Fate is at #5, but judging by what Pete said, I might have to watch it again. I actually like Genesys. Don't find it confusing at all. Nice to see some positive comments about 3, which is my. I saw some comments online saying how it was a big step down from T2, and that making the movie was dumb because part 2 was supposed to stop Judgement Day(not postpone it). Interesting casting Kristana Locken. I remember as a guest on Boy Meets World. The first one is my #2 pick, and T2 is #1. I remember seeing T2 at the drive-in with my friend and our moms. Does anyone own the DVD with the additional scenes? One is Sarah Connor being visited in the psychiatric hospital by Reese
The original film was brilliant dark 1980s sci fi. All the sequels- all of them- are glossy dross. On T2, I appreciate the nostalgia aspect and the famous lines he had in that movie but as soon as you have the concept of Schwarzenegger as a ‘nice Terminator’- I’m out.
I mean when from the first film to the second (Judgment Day) they switched Schwarzenegger from being a ‘bad’ Terminator to a ‘good’ Terminator. I have only seen the first three films.
Glad to see T3 wasn’t crapped on. It’s not better than 1 or 2, but it’s real good and WAY better than all the rest, IMO. And I think it’s necessary, story-wise, to cap off the first 2 movies. It at least resolves some of the paradoxes created by the previous films.
My ranking for Terminator movies goes: 6. Genisys 5. Dark Fate 4. Salvation 3. Rise Of The Machines 2. T1 1. T2 But the Sarah Connor Chronicles is basically tied with T1 and T2 as well. It's the only other thing in the Terminator franchise that I consider to be cannon.
My girlfriend/wife went to the duplex to watch some movie, turns out it was sold out so we went to the Terminator instead. What a surprise... very enjoyable. First Arnold S. movie that made me a fan.
My list is 6.Dark Fate 5. Genisys 4. Salvation 3.Rise Of The Machines 2. Judgement Day 1. The Terminator I don't hate any of these movies at all either. Dark Fate - Arnold/Carl is the only character that saved this movie from being horrible Genisys- Story was awful but I still enjoyed the movie. Arnold/Pops, and Emillia/Sarah Connor really entertained me. Salvation- I actually love this movie . I really wish that they continued with this story instead of rebooting the franchise. Rise Of The Machines- I have always loved this movie. The ending was incredible. Judgment Day- Excellent movie and action. The Terminator- MASTERPIECE! I love everything about this movie. Arnold/ Terminator was incredible in this movie.
1:01:08 When you realise you are talking to people way younger than you when they are shocked & surprised when you tell them that you saw the first Terminator on its first theatrical run. Ranking Arnie films would be cool, there’s also Rocky franchise, Rambo franchise, ranking Stallone films maybe, Die Hard franchise.
I was seeing a lot of movies in the theater in 1984. There was just no hype around it's initial theatrical run, so it slipped by me and a lot of my friends. We didn't know it existed until VHS. So, that's why I was surprised Pete caught it at the theater.
@@Jamie.Laszlo Oh right. I have had conversations with people about seeing a particular film on its first theatrical run and I get back, ‘Oh I wasn’t born then.’ Mind you Sydney Taylor made me feel really old when I think she said in one of the Hudson Valley videos that she was only five when American Idiot was first released.
Lets face it. We all love these movies primarily because of Arnold. The guy has charisma and charm for days, even as a robot. No Arnold, no Terminator franchise.
1) The Terminator 2) Terminator 2: Judgement Day 3) Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines 4) Terminator: Genisys 5) Terminator: Dark Fate 6) Terminator: Salvation
I’ve been binge watching old Siskel and Ebert episodes for some odd reason. Maybe because I finished UA-cam during Covid. Going to go see what they said about the first two Terminators. I have a feeling that Siskel, who panned Excalibur, Apocalypse Now, Silence of the Lambs, and Unforgiven hated the first one, but liked T2.
I'm honestly very surprised 2/3 put 1 first. I expected everyone's 1 & 2 would be the same, with maybe a small chance someone would put 1 first. I like 1, but it looks cheap and indy in comparison to 2 and the effects & action sequences still hold up till today from 2. Just about everything else about 2 is perfect, including the sound design & soundtrack. I never noticed anything wrong with any of the acting, particularly I thought Furlong was excellent, and you have to admire Hamilton's commitment with getting that body for the film. Both were totally believable as real people for me. When it's a case of the story being equal, but everything else putting 2 so far ahead, it's not even close for me. I also rewatch 2 way more, and it never gets old. I'm good with waiting a couple years after watching 1 before I see it again. Maybe it's an age thing. I'm only 36, so I don't have the same nostalgia for 1 that would make me put it at the top despite it's flaws.
fun fact: they we’re running out of money on T3 right about when they were to shoot the crane in traffic scene, so they were going to cut it or severely trim it. Arnold liked the concept so much that he coughed up a couple million of his own money to complete the scene
My favorite Movie of the series is the first. When I was a kid my dad had the VHS and when he finally let me watch it, I loved it to death. I still love Judgment Day, but it never hit the same like the first one did. Own it on 4k and I still have that old VHS from my dad. One of my favorite movies of all time.
I saw this one in the theater, I I really think that made such a difference. Big screen, great surround sound, no distractions or yapping. I saw a lot like this including the original footloose, rocky 3 and 4, goldblums the fly remake. My think is, with all the big TV's and 4k, people are missing out. I can't watch top gin 2 on a phone. Just an opinion. Rock on on.
Why no discussion of the TV series that lasted for two seasons? I have not watched it yet, but I am curious to see how well it holds up and maintains continuity with the film series.
First time watching the Monster's Den since I'm familiar with the Terminator series. I agree with Jamie and Craig about the first film being the best. I think it's a little more dark and suspenseful than T2 not to mention Arnold is such a intimating figure as the bad terminator. By the way it was the first Wayne's World that had the Robert Patrick T2 terminator parody. Fun fact it had Black Sabbath Time Machine playing in part of that parody scene.
I like 1 thru 3 a lot. I go back & forth on which i like better 1 or 2. I was a kid when i saw 2.....so theres a nostalgia factor i cant deny. I saw 1 much later and it looked dated, and was dark, which wasnt my type of film at the time. But they are both wonderful in their own way and i could be persuaded either is better, depending on the argument and the day. 3 is better than most remember-- Loved the TX -Female Terminator. Liked all the actors. It feels substantial. It feels like a project the studio cared about. Its a quality film. 4 had its charms. Christian Bale had no idea what franchise he was in....or didnt want to be there....or both....but i LOVED Moon Bloodgood. And if you forget 1,2 & 3 exist....its not a bad excuse to eat popcorn & check out. 5 was a mess....but i liked Emilia Clarke. Its got a ton of issues but i dont mind it. And Finally -- *SIGH* Im one of THOSE fans i suppose. I think 6 is an insulting pile of Harvey Weinstein level, Hollywood trash. I HATE what they did to John Connor. I hate what they did to Arnolds Terminator. I didnt find it charming. I found it ridiculous. I never bought a 4 ft tall, 90 pound dopey girl as this future leader. She looked like a child shooting a rifle. Linda Hamilton is just bad as granny Sarah Connor. The chick playing the terminator gives a performance worthy of toe cheese. Why cast a bad actress with the charisma of a dog balls in that part -- THE MOVIE IS CALLED TERMINATOR. There is so much cringe, my face hurts thinking about it. The ending was predictable and meaningless. I didnt care. INSULTING is far worse than bad, so Dark Fate deserves to be shot into a volcano.....the rest can stay. I WANT CHRIS ALLO's Dark Fate rant! Final ranking. 1. Terminator 2 2. Terminator 3. Terminator 3 4. Terminator 4 5. Terminator 5 I I I I I I I I \ / V Undeserving of being on a list of Terminator movies --- No ranking. Terminator 6: Dark Fart. Im sure it gave children cancer. Its the movie, someone who hates Terminator and thinks Terminator fans are stupid & easily manipulated, would make. Y'all are too forgiving about this pond scum.....but thats why i dig ya. Thanks guys!
6) Dark Fate (the worst of the franchise NOTHING NEW) 5) Genesys (a total disaster) 4) Terminator 3 (a souless version of T2) 3)Salvation (its boring BUT I give it a lot of credit for actually try to do something NEW) 2) Termimator (I love its horror vibes) 1) Terminator 2 (the best sequel Ever!!!)
The first time I saw T2, I said it blew the first one away. But today the original Terminator is my favorite. It has a raw and gritty feel to it that I just love. T3 just a small step down from the first two. I just don’t dig the last half hour or so. The last three movies I love moments here and there, but that’s about it on those.
So my order would be: 1) The Terminator 2) Terminator 2: Judgement Day 3) Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines 4) Terminator Dark Fate 5) the rest of them.
Great topic! One of my fave franchises because the 1st 2 are two of all-time fave films! 2 of the best films ever made and 4 turds. Genysis was atrocious
The first 3 are the best, that's a given. My preference is 1. T2 2 Rise of the Machines 3. The Terminator They should have ended with T3 as it nicely ends up the whole trying to stop Judgement Day thing. It could have done a new series of films which is set in the future when the robots take over.
Thanks gentlemen. 6 Genisys 5 Terminator 3 4 Salvation 3 Dark Fate. 2 Terminator 1 Terminator 2 Genesys is the only film which I didn't enjoy. I appreciate Salvation more than most, and Dark Fate as well.
1) Terminator 2 2) The Terminator 3) Terminator 3 Gave up on this franchise after #3. 4) Terminator: The Sara Conner Chronicles (saw a few episodes) 5) Terminator: Salvation Terminator: Genisys Terminator: Dark Fate *Seen none of these nor will I ever.*1
This was great, I agree it’s somehow not an embarrassing franchise. The big paradox I never understood was that if they let Sarah Connor get killed skynet wouldn’t have been activated? The explosion at the end I end of terminator 1 resulted in the company discovering the terminator parts to advance the technology to eventually create skynet and its robot revolution right in T2 right? So like if skynet killed Sarah and John was never born that explosion and the resulting events that create skynet never occur right? My head hurts now but I still love the first two so much. 1a and 1b situation for me
I don’t know if it’s out of line to request a show, but I would to see you guys tackle the Matrix movies! Matrix, Matrix reloaded, revolutions, Animatrix, and resurrections. That would be awesome.
@@seaoftranquilityprog That sounds good, hopefully these will get dusted off for new releases fairly soon, think Davy mentioned a possible remake recently if I remember correctly, good stuff and surely about high time - not that it's expected to top the original(s), maybe it'll be ideas from all four rolled into one movie.
Enjoyed the first three and ranked them in chronological order. Thought the truck chase scene in T3 was one of the greatest movie chase scenes ever and the female terminator was really good. The later sequels were hit and miss and the last two were mainly miss..........
1. Terminator 2 2. Terminator 3. Dark fate (!). Me in minority, but love that movie. 4. Salvation. 5. Rise of the machines (disappointment for me). 6. Genisys
I'm re-watching The Streets of San Francisco (1972-77) at the moment, Arnold is in the episode Dead Lift (1977) as that story's main character he's actually not terrible all things considered. It's also here on UA-cam.
This isn't much of a debate is there? The first two are fantastic and everything else is junk. Which of the first two is better? Well, the first one has a terrific story but the second is probably the greatest action film ever made. So...
Interesting how the favourites just about went in sequence. I just saw Dark Fate on UK tv last weekend, didnt think it was too bad - I got the premise that John Connor was killed by another Terminator sent back and that that was after they'd dealt with SkyNet - however thereby lies an annoyong anomaly in that if they removed Skynet then the Terminators wouldnt have been developed and even if Legion had arisen in place of Skynet there's no reason to kill John or Sarah Connor anymore. Anyway I agree that Arnold was great and enjoyed his 'I wont be back' when asked what he'd said to his family, but yes Linda Hamilton was awful. And I also saw T1 at the movies when it first came out and its that by just a whisker over T2 then 3. 4,5 and 6 are ok for a Saturday evening movie on TV but I wouldnt have wanted to go to the cinema to see them.
Terminator 2 is the best. I have the arcade cabinet to go along with the movie. The only other two I count is 1 and salvation. I did enjoy 3 though genysis I could not follow and the film was too dark. The last one was so bad it ended the franchise.
I have an identical ranking with Pete! T2 is a top 10 film of all-time for me and the first one is in my top 25. Everything that came afterwards was mediocre to crap
Terminator 2 is my favorite, partially for personal reasons because I had it on VHS as a kid and grew up watching it all the time. The action sequences are amazing. So many highlights like the truck chase through the canal and the nuclear explosion scene. Robert Patrick is a great villain, and yeah Edward Furlong is a little annoying but he's that classic Bart Simpson little punk. I never had a problem with Linda Hamilton, I love her acting in the asylum sequences. After watching it hundreds of times it still holds up to this day. I saw it released in theaters a few years ago. The original Terminator isn't far behind. I love Terminator 3, too. The scene where the crane crashes through the building was incredible. It came out when I was 11 and I was totally into it at the time. I also saw Terminator Salvation in the theater, but I thought it was crap. I was looking forward to seeing Christian Bale as John Connor but he was absolutely worthless. As much as I love the first two I've never watched Dark Fate or Genysis.
Patrick was also great in his more dramatic roles, like the UFO drama Fire in the Sky (1993) and Cop Land (1997) with Sylvester Stallone. Furlong did fine in the (violent) family drama Little Odessa (1994) as Tim Roth's kid brother and of course in the Kiss road movie Detroit Rock City (1999).
Still remember leaving the theatre in 1991 after seeing T2. Thrilling after watching T1 so many times in the years leading up to such a monster of a movie. Personally, after T2, I don't care to see those movies again (or at all).
Coming in from the cold I'll get right to it..... T3 is a great movie nothing wrong with it. I also like Phantom Menace. What's wrong with people? Ok I listen now.
We visited my wife's sister back in the 80s and they rented a VHS. The Terminator. We looked at each and said, ok this will be a joke. Uh, boy were we wrong. Still one of my favorite movies.
...and the movie is becoming reality. ;-)

It’s a shame he didn’t get much more work after that. He was PHENOMENAL in the X files as well!

In the 80’s/90’s what could movies have done without Giorgio Moroder!
I'm glad Jamie and Craig picked T1. I like it the best as well. It has the most heart and I think Michael Biehn was fantastic in the movie.
Great episode! Here's my ranking:
1) T1
2) T2
3) T3
4) T5
5) T4
6) T6
Great show! My picks:
Terminator
T2
Dark Fate
Salvation
Genesis
Here is my ranking
1. Terminator 2: Judgment Day
2. Terminator
3. Terminator: Genisys
4. Terminator: Salvation
5. Terminator: Rise Of The Machines
6. Terminator: Dark Fate
Could you guys review the Ray Harryhausen movies? Clash of the Titans, Jason and the Argonauts, Sinbad etc?
The guys ranked all of those pretty recently…with cool props too 👍, so you’ll find it in the playlist.
@@craigkaminski cheers mate 👍
I honestly wanted to see the next SALVATION. I FELT Worthington played the Jesus roll perfectly. And Bale rocked it !! Actually better than any of the ones beyond 1 & 2. Thank you Pete for the platform.
Yeah I agree!! I wish it was written better & had a better ending. It at least was going in the right direction. Not sure why they haven't tried again to do a trilogy of movies showing John's rise as the leader of the resistance!! All we keep getting is a rehash of T2.
Wasn't Arnie in the comedy western Cactus Jack with Kirk Douglas a few years before Conan or The Terminator?
Yes, that was The Villain with Kirk Douglas and Ann-Margret.
I saw that one in theaters, remember it was a funny film.
Yes indeed! And Ann Margaret looked GREAT in that!
Thanks for this ranking. Just ordered the Blueray set.
The only bad actor was stupid clown steroid ahhhnold. F him and his anti Trump fake Republican maid humping bastard kid ars. Shutty
Great video. I also don’t hate any of these movies. For me it’s: 1)T2, 2)T1 and 3)T3. The other films are enjoyable but throwaway films IMO.
@@jimmycampbell78 He wasn't the nice Terminator.
The first one is by far the best for numerous reasons. The practical effects are great. But it has a dark menacing tone that all the sequels lack.
@29:00. Everybody needs to hear the remix of Christian Bale's freakout. It's possibly the funniest / greatest video ever made.
It's my favorite movie franchise. I can't pick between 1 and 2, with 3 just slightly behind.
My ranking for Terminator movies goes:
6. Genisys
5. Dark Fate
4. Salvation
3. Rise Of The Machines
2. T1
1. T2
But the Sarah Connor Chronicles is basically tied with T1 and T2 as well. It's the only other thing in the Terminator franchise that I consider to be cannon.
My girlfriend/wife went to the duplex to watch some movie, turns out it was sold out so we went to the Terminator instead. What a surprise... very enjoyable. First Arnold S. movie that made me a fan.
6. Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003)
5. Terminator: Salvation (2009)
4. Terminator: Genisys (2015)
3. Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
2. Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
1. The Terminator (1984)
@Garrett McGinnis yeah tough to top the first two I do like the idea in 4 about having it in the future war that’s cool.
@Garrett McGinnis yeah all of them are good.
Was looking forward to this. where's chris? anyway fantastic program. Dig it
My list is
6.Dark Fate
5. Genisys
4. Salvation
3.Rise Of The Machines
2. Judgement Day
1. The Terminator
I don't hate any of these movies at all either.
Dark Fate - Arnold/Carl is the only character that saved this movie from being horrible
Genisys- Story was awful but I still enjoyed the movie.

When you realise you are talking to people way younger than you when they are shocked & surprised when you tell them that you saw the first Terminator on its first theatrical run.
I have had conversations with people about seeing a particular film on its first theatrical run and I get back, ‘Oh I wasn’t born then.’
Mind you Sydney Taylor made me feel really old when I think she said in one of the Hudson Valley videos that she was only five when American Idiot was first released.
Great as always. Watched T2 in the cinema back then. Thought it was better than T1. Today I would rate it over T2.
Lets face it. We all love these movies primarily because of Arnold. The guy has charisma and charm for days, even as a robot. No Arnold, no Terminator franchise.
1) The Terminator
2) Terminator 2: Judgement Day
3) Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines
4) Terminator: Genisys
5) Terminator: Dark Fate
6) Terminator: Salvation
I’ve been binge watching old Siskel and Ebert episodes for some odd reason. Maybe because I finished UA-cam during Covid. Going to go see what they said about the first two Terminators. I have a feeling that Siskel, who panned Excalibur, Apocalypse Now, Silence of the Lambs, and Unforgiven hated the first one, but liked T2.
Pretty sure it was Ebert who panned Unforgiven as he then famously rewatched it and added it to his all time greatest list.
Rock on on.
Robert Patrick did the cameo in Wayne’s world 1 , not 2 . But it’s a great scene 😂😂🤘
I remembered that after the fact, thanks :). The funny cameo in Wayne's World 2 is from Charlton Heston.
@@craigkaminski 🤣🤣 all good stuff
1. T1
2.T2
3.SALVATION
4. T3
5. Dark Fate
6. Genesis
Why no discussion of the TV series that lasted for two seasons? I have not watched it yet, but I am curious to see how well it holds up and maintains continuity with the film series.
T3 destroyed the complete plotline of the series...

Undeserving of being on a list of Terminator movies --- No ranking.
6) Dark Fate (the worst of the franchise NOTHING NEW)
5) Genesys (a total disaster)
4) Terminator 3 (a souless version of T2)
3)Salvation (its boring BUT I give it a lot of credit for actually try to do something NEW)
2) Termimator (I love its horror vibes)
1) Terminator 2 (the best sequel Ever!!!)
Ranking Batman movies next
Classic time travel paradox patter from the guys! Like Austin Powers, I think I have just gone cross-eyed.
The TV series 'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles' was pretty solid. Too bad it got CX'd after 2 seasons mostly due to high production cost.
I watched it at the time and enjoyed it
So my order would be:
1) The Terminator
2) Terminator 2: Judgement Day
3) Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines
4) Terminator Dark Fate
5) the rest of them.
Great topic! One of my fave franchises because the 1st 2 are two of all-time fave films! 2 of the best films ever made and 4 turds. Genysis was atrocious
T2 for me but the 1st is obviously great too. The 3rd is brilliant too, as you all said.
my ranking would be T2, T1, Salvation, T3, Dark Fate, Genysis...I always wanted to see a continuation of Salvation and where it would go for a trilogy
The first 3 are the best, that's a given. My preference is 1. T2 2 Rise of the Machines 3. The Terminator
They should have ended with T3 as it nicely ends up the whole trying to stop Judgement Day thing. It could have done a new series of films which is set in the future when the robots take over.
I agree, they probably should've stopped there, no need for all these confusing timeline plots that audiencens now seem to go for.
1. Rise of the machines. 2. T2. 3. Genisys 4. 1st film. 5. Dark fate - better than people say, I liked it. 6. Salvation
Thanks gentlemen.
6 Genisys
5 Terminator 3
4 Salvation
3 Dark Fate.
2 Terminator
1 Terminator 2
Genesys is the only film which I didn't enjoy. I appreciate Salvation more than most, and Dark Fate as well.
Where was Chris? I would have loved his rants about this series😁
1) Terminator 2
2) The Terminator
3) Terminator 3
Gave up on this franchise after #3.
4) Terminator: The Sara Conner Chronicles
(saw a few episodes)
5) Terminator: Salvation
Terminator: Genisys
Terminator: Dark Fate
*Seen none of these nor will I ever.*1
I can’t speak for the others, but I’m just not a Matrix guy, sorry 😞.
@@craigkaminski Ah, understood. Anyway, it was a great show as always!
Not sci-fi but how about a Blind Dead ranking, just four films. 💀
@@LarryFleetwood8675 definitely doable Larry, but probably after the last 2 of them get released on blu-ray.

1. Terminator 2
2. Terminator
3. Dark fate (!). Me in minority, but love that movie.
4. Salvation.
5. Rise of the machines (disappointment for me).

arnold is a treasure in general
I'm re-watching The Streets of San Francisco (1972-77) at the moment, Arnold is in the episode Dead Lift (1977) as that story's main character he's actually not terrible all things considered. It's also here on UA-cam.
This isn't much of a debate is there? The first two are fantastic and everything else is junk. Which of the first two is better? Well, the first one has a terrific story but the second is probably the greatest action film ever made. So...
T3 is a good movie
Should have stopped at T2 was perfect as a two film job 🤘🤘🤘
I have an identical ranking with Pete! T2 is a top 10 film of all-time for me and the first one is in my top 25. Everything that came afterwards was mediocre to crap
Genieys is my third favorite. Dark Fate is easily my least.
Terminator 1 then Terminator 2 then forget the rest
T2 is a masterpiece
1. Terminator 2 Judgment Day
2. The Terminator
The rest of the franchise
I saw T2 opening night. Great!
Still remember leaving the theatre in 1991 after seeing T2. Thrilling after watching T1 so many times in the years leading up to such a monster of a movie. Personally, after T2, I don't care to see those movies again (or at all).
Everybody's a critic, dark fate and genesis were pretty darn good
