@@hennesseyme9112 she still faces her own disciplinary charges, I expect she’ll be pressed to resign from her elected position. Just because she may have said something doesn’t mean any influence came from her, it appears that the influence came from the jury itself. I have served on a jury myself, and they do call you in and ask each member to verify that this is your verdict. If there is any lack of clarity from a jury or an individual juror’s verdict, they handle this then and there or they may declare a mistrial. They all did that last year, so they clearly didn’t see what she may or may not have said to them (or one of them) at some point, as having inappropriately influenced their decision. It’s possible that what she may have said was not intended to make them come to a guilty verdict. It came from the prosecutor I think, who said that jurors should watch Murdaugh’s behavior, which would not be wrong at all for one of the prosecutors to say this to a jury. I am listening again to some of the trial testimony and statements, to see if that’s what may have occurred.

Judge Toal, no matter what she ruled has to be one of the best judges I have seen. They couldn't have found better to deal with this matter. The Clerk is absolutely unethical, but nothing she said had any weight on the jurors verdict. The alternate that they sought out and had Sunday dinner with seemed a little bitter she was sent home. I still think they had to have paid her to be there and say what they needed said. The fact that Judge Toal read everything from the trial and mentioned the amount of evidence, including the correct verdict speaks volumes. Alex should just resign himself to his sentence before he doesn't have any money left to buy soups.
