Worked like a charm. I like how the video isn’t edited, making it look easier than it is. Actually took about 5 minutes to get the motor out, just like the video. Loved the fact you named the size sockets and torx I needed too. Thanks a ton!

Charley, make sure you replace your wiper blades periodically and keep your windshield clean and polished with RainX. Windshield debris causes excessive resistance on the wiper transmission and motor on later model Volkswagens. Thank you for watching and inquiring, C.J. w/ A.R.T. Atlanta.

Thank you Ryan for checking out our instructional videos. Make sure to keep your windshield clean and or waxed with RainX. Also fresh wiper blades as they cause resistance on the motor when they drag against the glass. C.J. or Jason w/ A.R.T. Atlanta.

Idk why anyone would pay a mechanic outrageous prices between ordering parts from Amazon and tutorials this good on UA-cam. bro forget your price gouging on a job that took honestly 20 mins of work because one arm was stuck.

Good afternoon. Our labor rate was $70hr, now $75hr due to economic times. Our videos are merely a visual aid for fellow Repair Technicians and to help others in need. As you notice, I have everything loose to shorten the video and get to the POINT. I believe this job paid 1.6 hrs labor x $70=$112 at that time. Your opinion is Your opinion about Repair Technicians and price gouging. You have to do Your research about repair shops. I am Certified Factory Trained Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Porsche, Volkswagen, etc...
Try helping others from time to time and you will be blessed. C.J. w/ A.R.T. Atlanta.

Short version: WD-40 (or better lubrication) the windshield wiper linkage assembly. Winter Beater.
Long Version: 2012 VW Jetta 2.5 SE wipers would not work when really cold for a few years (North East USA). Finally this year, they wouldnt work even when warm. After research, my google and youtube degree lead me to believe the wiper motor was bad. $47.99 later, I had the a new aftermarket windshield wiper motor. Recycling centers aka Junk Yards would have charged $30~. Following the video (thank you) I had trouble removing the wipers (lil rust, used penetrating oil). After an hour they came off with force, push wiper and pull straight up. Got the assembly out no other problems. Couldnt get to the nut on the motor that well and didnt realize the assembly should be able to move freely. Greased *wd40* all the moving parts and replaced the motor no problem. Reinstalled everything no problem. And will use silicone on the assembly if anything starts to "drag" or cause the motor stress prior to failure.
    Thank you @RESTOREYOURCAR

Kevin, we use red trans gel, gold bearing grease, chain lube or any assembly lube to withstand rain or cold weather. We use dielectric grease on electrical connectors. Keep your glass clean and free of dirt and ice prior to turning on. Service your wiper blades periodically with wiper blade conditioner, it comes in a pen to keep in your glove box. RainX your windshield inside out to prevent sticking, etc... Thank you for your inquiry, C.J. w/ A.R.T.

Thanks for the great job on the video. I'm troubleshooting the wiper system on my 2012 Jetta SE and was wondering if you knew the pinouts on the wiper motor connector? I know it's Negative, Positive, High, Low but I can't seem to find it documented anywhere. Trying to eliminate the motor as the issue.
    Thank

Looks like pin 1 14 gauge wire Green/ yellow stripe, pin 2 14 gauge wire Green/ black stripe, pin 3 18 gauge wire purple/ white stripe, pin 4 14 gauge wire Brown. The larger wires normally carry the most current. I believe Brown is ground and Green / yellow is positive. Unplug connector and cycle wipers to test for power at the large Green wires. You can ground your test meter to chassis ground. Thank you for your inquiry, C.J. w/ A.R.T. Atlanta.

Thanks for the video. I have that problem with my car and I believe is the motor because the wipers only works in the high function and moves slow. I would like to ask you if you could recommend any junkyard in Atlanta area to find that motor. Thank you again

We are just providing a FREE repair aid with STEP by STEP instructions. Better equipment isn't FREE, as I just purchased a new phone with a cracked screen I just rebuilt and phone/camera mount. Now I need to purchase a new SIM card and 2tb memory card. I appreciate the constructive criticism as this will aid in future repair tutorials. Thank you, C.J. w/ A.R.T. Atlanta.

My wipers make a grinding noise when operating. I'm assuming it's the motor. Do you know anyone in NYC or Philly that can do this for me without charging me an arm and a leg? Thanks

Mia Khalid Shibly, great Street Motion video shoot. Very creative with highlights of clothing, shoes, architecture, local businesses, etc... Do it again, as you have a very creative sceneamatic vision with music. Just my opinion.
You may need to inspect for wiper transmission problems dealing with the grinding sound you hear. In the future after repairs, keep good quality wiper blades in the Northern region. Make sure to defrost fully before turning on your wipers to remove snow as this can put stress on your wiper motor and transmission. C.J. w/ A.R.T. Atlanta 770.374.9597

We already had everything loose. We were just making a concise installation video for reference of how everything goes together. One drop of oil on the stud when the nut is removed, wiggle back and forth, the wiper arm normally releases. Otherwise, a wiper arm removal tool can be used.
      Thanks for watching, C.J. w/ A.R.T. Atlanta.
