    I have a 2000 Honda Shadow Sabre 1100 with 7k original miles same color. The carbs are jetted and has Cobra dragster pipes. These bikes are known to be the most reliable motorcycles and is easy on maintenance. Definitely a great cruiser under 80 mph. Stay safe 🤙🏽🇺🇲

    I luv the red matching windshield. Sweet sound! I could see myself starting on a bike like this especially if it's not carbureted.

      Thanks! I have since sold it, but it was a good bike while I had it. It was carbureted though.

    I bought the identical motorcycle and am learning on it, I love my 04 shadow Sabre 1100 I had black buck bars on it and just swapped to the original chrome ones and I can definitely tell the difference in comfort with the bar swap I’m super sad you sold it, thanks for the video it is why I decided to swap handle bars. I’ll be making some of my own

      Nice man! Yeah I like cruisers but they just aren’t quite my thing. I needed the money for my baby at the time but intend to buy something like a Versys or Tracer 900 next. It was fun while it lasted. Thanks for watching and ride safe!

    I have identical bike year and color but mine has cobra pipes sounds good also your right it has plenty of power was on highway was surprised how quickly it accelerated from 70 to 90 in a few seconds smooth as butter.i had a harley 1200 sportster before this couldnt ride 5 miles without my hands going numb ride the honda for an hour no numbness in my hands great bike

    I love my Shadow Sabre. Can cruise all day at 70 mph. If I could have one thing more it would be a 6th gear. Compared to Harley it's a cross between a Super Glide and a Sportster, IMO anyway.

    • @BlackRiverRider
      @BlackRiverRider  4 роки тому +2

      I agree with the 6th gear, I always find myself trying to shift up when there’s nothing left when I haven’t rode it in awhile. I’d only rode a Harley street bob before, so it’s hard for me to compare except that the Harley shakes you to death lmao

    • @cb750k1974
      @cb750k1974 4 роки тому +1

      @@BlackRiverRider The new Harley's with the M8 motor don't shake very much, they also don't have the same potato, potato sound. Harley added a balancer to smooth them out, They are more like metric bikes than a traditional Harley, again...my opinion. VT1100 is all I need at a much lower cost too......although.....I love Harley. The "C3" VT1100 does have the single pin motor which mimics the Harley sound so close that Harley sued Honda over it. The Honda "Aero" 1100 has this motor, 2002 and earlier I think,

    • @BlackRiverRider

      Oh wow. Yeah I don’t know that much about Harley’s. I just remember cranking his up from cold and it felt like the handlebars were going to shake off haha. It was a very nice bike though. Maybe one day I can afford something really nice.

    Just picked up one of these this past weekend, 2004 17k miles. it’s my first bike, now I’m having mixed thoughts about it. I’m 5”9’ and 230lbs. I got mixed rating for it being a first bike on some forums online saying it was a good one for a bigger person and not so much for a person that’s smaller and lighter. but then other saying it’s too much power and weight for anyone starting. What is your opinion? I still have time to get a smaller bike as Honda’s are easy to find in my area. Awesome video

    • @BlackRiverRider
      @BlackRiverRider  3 роки тому

      Just a little background, I’m 5’ 9” about 180lbs and it felt pretty quick. I’ve spent a few years riding dirt bikes so I have decent experience. In my personal opinion it’s not the best bike to learn on, but it’s definitely manageable if you have self control. The thing about cruisers due to the nature of their V-Twins is that they’re very forgiving compared to sport-bikes. It basically just comes down to how much you trust yourself to take your time and learn without getting careless. The good thing is, it’s a light bike for a cruiser so it’s easier to keep your balance at low speed and put your foot down if you need where most drops occur. If you haven’t done so yet, I would highly suggest taking a local MSF course first before going on the road like I did. There’s many more factors to consider than just the motorcycle and that course will give you the skills and confidence you need to be safe and get the most out of riding. If you find that it’s too much power after, then sell it before it gets into you trouble. Hope this helps!

      @@BlackRiverRider Im definitely not going fast on it yet, and not doing anything crazy until I know what I’m doing. I wanted to get a sportster but I got on one and it was really uncomfortable, got on the Sabre and felt good, the power is not the problem because the only place I would ride faster would be on a state route that is straight with out any sharp turns. If I wanted to be crazy and go fast I would of got a sport bike lol. Other than that I just want to ride local and follow speed limits, Ive had my fair share of tickets and a crash on a car and I know better now and I know to have respect with anything with an engine that I know can harm me if I drive fast. Thanks for the help and your opinion I appreciate it. Definitely gonna take a safety course soon

    • @BlackRiverRider

      If you can counter steer properly the weight doesn’t really matter other than stoplights. The Shadows are usually pretty light though and solid bikes so hard to go wrong with them.

    I’m 5’9 175 lbs. I’m planning on getting this bike. Do you think it will be a good fit for me or too much of a bike? I’m experienced rider. Rode the rebel 500 before

    • @BlackRiverRider
      @BlackRiverRider  3 роки тому +1

      That’s my height and weight too haha. I think it will be a great bike for you. It definitely has more power than a Rebel 500 as I moved up from a CB500F, but since it’s a cruiser the power is easy to handle having prior experience. It’s also not super heavy like other cruisers so it feels more agile than most.

    Black River as in Conway SC?

    • @BlackRiverRider
      @BlackRiverRider  Рік тому +1

      More like the Black River near the Cape Fear River in NC, just west of Wilmington. However the blackwater near Conway would be from the Waccamaw River that stems from Lake Waccamaw which is about 30min from me. It’s all the same really.
