Awsome demo day, I was out there also .
Where can I buy this thing
@@nigelmcclure6440 Amazon is probably where it’s bought the most, but not sure where else it’s offered. Just have to search for it.
I want a bike like this; a "ride anywhere, do anything" big American tourer.
@@MiketheNerdRanger as long as you’re sticking to tarmac then for sure
@BlackRiverRider I mean, by "ride anywhere," I don't mean off the road 😂 I mean, I could ride anywhere in the country with just this bike.
Had a 2015 for a few years. Served me well. Replaced 2024 with Aprilia Tuareg 660 - so much more fun to ride.
Thanks for the the review. Seems like I will be upgrading to this one. Just worried about if it feels heavy or not in traffic?
@@someshpatel7660 not at all, but weight is relative. Only bikes that feel heavy to me are big Harley’s and touring bikes.
@@BlackRiverRider Thank you for the clarity. Will test ride it soon. All the best to you and ride safe :)
@@someshpatel7660 you too!
Own 2019 AS model with automatic clutch and electronic suspension. Went from 2009 FJR. Very happy about it!
This fall I just picked up a R1200RTP - a used state police model. Very fun. Chews up the twisties with style yet is comfy for all day on the highway too. Steers wonderfully across the whole speed range. So balanced, it wants to lift the front when you're still coming out of turns.
@@suzyamerica4679 great buy! They get maintained very well generally speaking
Way too loud for me. Would drive me nuts.
@@jamievidd775 no doubt. I don’t have it anymore.
on your comment about if the size doesn't fit you can send it back and get a different size Bare in mind this happened to me the size was to small they happy accepted it back but... I'm not sure about the rest of the world but I had to personally pay the import taxes (around AUD$300) to receive it and I had to pay these twice so it was the cost of two helmets by the end of it
Man those import taxes are crazy
@@BlackRiverRider Your telling me...Thats why its been so long since updating my Atlas helmet, but thinking to get the EOX soon :) 🤞hopefully sizing issue is fixed but I'm not counting on it haha🤞
I've been tempted by the F900XR. My main use is for touring / long distance. However I can confirm, as you state, that the seat is quite uncomfortable even when sat on in the showroom. Always baffles me when manufacturers sell a quite expensive bike that they leave it to the owner to acquire a half decent seat. That and the fact that this model, with the exception of a few tweaks, has been around since 2019 so I'm holding off till there is a major refresh.
@@simonwalker1833 Yeah have to give you a reason to buy a comfort seat or save money somewhere so go with an area you can replace. Also, probably not a bad idea waiting, might be coming sooner than you think.
@@BlackRiverRider Thanks. Yes that last point is encouraging, hope they do something by next season - not holding my breath tho'. If it was a proper 'upgrade' then it would be top of my list...
@@simonwalker1833 idk if you’ve tried the tracer 9 gt before, but it’s an amazing motorcycle and in the same category. Just a different engine
@@BlackRiverRider I looked at the tracer's a couple years back and I know they've had upgrades. Just not taken with them. Riding a Tiger 900 at the mo and whilst I find it very comfortable, it is a bit 'top heavy'. Was looking for more of a sports tourer rather then the ADV/Tourer style (I don't go off road). At the moment, for me at least, it'll be a choice between the BMW and the new Tiger 800 Sport (which seems to tick all the boxes).
@ I can understand that for sure. Triumphs are so nice. I was a bit disappointed that they didn’t put the 765 motor in the new 800 but it might still be very fun. Thinking to go with a nice used FJR1300 myself since I want to ride passengers and low maintenance.
Always wondering why is exhaust sound bassy at idle and becomes brassy at full throttle acceleration? There is some physical phenomena that cause some of the energy from the fundamental of exhaust note being transferred to high harmonics equally. Similar how trombone or trumpet sounds brighter when you blow harder.
@@user-ix5qy7um6o high rpm and no catalytic converter makes it sound this way

Great review. Was the windshield set at its highest position when you were riding?
@@jett_royce Thanks! I’m not sure but it appeared to be. The camera angle is a few inches lower than my line of sight. I would still swap it for a better one just for more coverage in my opinion.
The transmission seems clunky to you because you don't know how to shift it. Do NOT release the throttle at shift points, just shift.
@@BEFastPhotography ehh, it’s all relative. The transmission felt fine, I was referring to the quickshifter. It’s not smooth to me because I’ve rode many different motorcycles with varying levels of quickshifter. This is definitely the most granular and rough feeling. It should shift fine regardless of throttle input as others do on Japanese models. The R1300GS did not have the same problem in my experience.

It’s a structured road-only demo event. What do you expect me to do, go off on my own and ride off-road on some random private land? Do people like you even think before posting?
I liked mine for backroads and gravel with stock tires. Excellent bike for that. For the price you can't beat it. Haters never owned one. Thing is like a pack mule, nothing fancy but gets job done.
Hello, colleague! I use two cameras with the following settings. GoPro Hero 7 Black: 30FPS, shutter speed 1/60, and an ND filter depending on the light conditions. The other camera is an Insta 360 Ace Pro. I'm testing a few settings with it... One interesting option is 60FPS with a shutter speed of 1/240. However, the video turns out quite dark, and it only works up to an ND 16 filter on sunny days.

Beautiful bike.....buy its hard to compare it to something like the Challenger Dark Horse when there's a $15,000 price difference between them.
@@alfrede.neuman8611 therein lies the problem with Harley’s. Just way too expensive for no reason. I made the title that way more for clicks rather than a serious comparison.
Indeed a great motorcycle. Only 'downside' I found to be is that it is just that, good. But nothing extra. Brakes? Good. Seating comfort? Good. Suspension? Good. Etc. Nothing really stood out to me. But then again, in that regard this motorcycle is perfect for people who just want a motorcycle that is just that, good. Get me everywhere I want to be and nothing extra. And for a fair price too.
It certainly lacks a bit of flair, which is the main gripe that a lot of people have with it but you’re right that it’s for people who want a no-frills, reliable and versatile motorcycle.

How did you remove the baffle? and is it possible to reinstall after?
@@rnm8664 I bought mine used and it had the baffle out already. Best to make sure the screw in the side of the muffler is out, and then take a pair of channel-locks with a rag to grab onto the baffle and pull it out. It’s a very tight fit from what I can see.
you dont need a 1000 to be fast. a 400 is still quick. peoples idea of speed is so broken from 1400 hp lambos and vipers and gtrs its stupid.

I bought a 2006 for 4000$ last year, I love it, it has all the options you need
I like it a lot, but I just can’t agree with the huge fairing. Surely BMW could achieve similar protection characteristics with a better fairing design. It just looks too bulbous and front heavy for my liking.
@@MHeadroom it is a bit large, but the new 1300RT looks like it will be a little more streamlined
You will thank that fairing when you're riding in cold weather or headwinds that would batter you on another bike.
Ride 300mls 9hrs in the rain you would not think the fairing is bulbous ... its the best sports tourer there is forget the 400 kg barges Kind Regards CC
@@CaptainChunk5464 Preach it. I picked up a 2007 R1200RTP this fall. Very comfortable for highway riding, but also fine in city traffic, not too big to be highly maneuverable in low speed handling too. The looks can grow on you.
It's not a UJM... It's a UBM! Universal British Motorcycle
For the price of the RT in Northeast, I was able to buy a new Goldwing DCT Tour. That is a value to me. The BMW is very expensive to repair and not many dealers around anymore. Yes, nice bike, but you need to look all around it as a value for the dollar.

I love this bike! A lot of people crap on this bike but its a nice comfortable and fun ride especially for a daily.
It’s probably the best middle weight out right now regarding overall value for sure.
According to the old interwebz, this thing gets 60+ mpg highway with 6.6 gallon tank. 350 mile range at highway speed. 5 hours in the saddle straight doesn't necessarily sound attractive, but it nice to know you can do an Iron Butt on less than 4 fill ups if you have to. 😂
