interesting how the announcers' initial reaction was "he is ruled safe by the plate umpire"; not "he is safe on a great slide". as usual, the first reaction by the booth guys is that the umpire has most likely made a mistake; maybe not directly stated, but at least seriously implied. kudos to them, however, for going with the obvious on the replay and giving the runner and the umpire their due justice. great slide, correct call. move on.
