For a late ‘70s made for tv movie it was a belter . It has some of the best scenes of any horror movie ever made . The scene where Danny Glick is scratching at the window was terrifying and the best jump I had from any movie was the jail scene .
RIP Mr Soul , thank you for your performances over the years - you were in some classics !

@@aegontargaryen9322 Yes, that scene scared me as a child. Whilst Salem's Lot wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the brilliant book which it was based on, I actually believe the 1979 Salem's Lot is superior to the book. For instance, Barlow, the master vampire, is a far more unsettling character. He's better version of Barlow from than the one from the book. Barlow in the film is the personification of pure evil, which cannot be rationalised or negotiated with. He is like an animal with little semblance of ever being human. It's like if you manifested evil in its purest form. Whilst Barlow, in the book, is evil, he does still retain much more of his humanity and is able to hold a conversation. He is therefore 'knowable'. He is easier for us to relate to and this dilutes the horror down.
