How does this effect the safety of the truck? The new bumper is not as wide as the crash bar you remove so I would think this is not as safe in the event of a crash.

After installing the winch plate yesterday I discovered an issue installing a Warn VR EVO 12S winch with my 2022 Hybrid Tundra. Unlike the Tundra shown in the great install video that Justin presented, my Tundra has two fans mounted in front of the radiator. The lower fan contacts the body of the winch and prevents aligning the mounting holes of the plate to the winch mounting bolts. There is also is a round electrical assembly mounted on the transverse rail in front of the radiator, the assembly does not show up in the video which interferes with the winch control box. I have backed off installing the winch for now as well as the bull bar assy. My plan is to let CBI know about this and I will likely need to mark and drill new mounting holes, mount the winch and use a Warn control box relocation kit to mount the controller further up in the engine compartment, which makes connecting the hand controller doable. My guess is the fans and the electrical assembly are related to Toyota Hybrid models but am unsure since I have not seen other Tundra front ends.

    Few Questions:
    1. On the TRD Pro, are you anticipating the Bull Bar to interfere with the lightbar on the grille? How about the front facing camera?
    2. Again on the TRD Pro, is the undercarriage protection going to be able to go back on at the end of this install? Didn't seem you reinstalled the plastic pro.
    3. Is this bumper going to be sold directly through Toyota dealerships anytime soon/as an accessory within warranty through Toyota? Seems you guys designed the official Toyota Tundra accessory bumper.
    Thanks, great design.

The bull bar won’t interfere with anything. We also have the option to get the bumper without the bar. The undercarriage protection will fit back on, we just removed to install our own CBI skid plates. We don’t have any info yet on if we’ll be selling products through Toyota but it is a possibility in the future.

I have been told my new 2023 Toyota 1794 Tundra with the TRD package should be delivered by the end of March. Very informative video and looks like a great product. Solves the tow hook issue and where to mount a winch at the same time. Also looks great too!
Now for my questions. Do you have any plans on making the front cover out of aluminum, as opposed to steel? Saves weight and eliminates any corrosion issues caused by rock chips on the steel surface.
Also, what are your thoughts on how to mount a front license plate when you have a winch installed?
My Tundra will come with an active front spoiler and it would be great to see an installation video on a Tundra that has one.
As a retired mechanical engineer who designed mechanical systems for my entire career, I appreciate all the effort that went into your product. That being said, I did see one thing in the video that I believe will cause your customers/installers issues.
At 19:37 in the video as the fastener was tightened down for the front bumper bracket, you can see the plastic OEM part fail. This was caused by overtightening the fastener, i.e., the bolt and nut assembly.

Unfortunately, whenever you sandwich plastic or any part with a relatively low compression strength between a metal fasten system, you can never tighten the fastener enough to reach a self-locking torque. The solution to this is to always use a self-locking nut, so that the fastener doesn’t depend on bolt thread stretch to be self-locking. From the video it doesn’t appear that you supplied a self-locking nut, but then I could be wrong.
At 12:06 when the winch tray is being mounted, I believe that the spacer brackets (shims?) come in two different thicknesses. It would be helpful to future installers to explain when to use the different thickness shims on any future installation video.

Also is the front grill support not needed if you mount a larger winch that requires its removal? If so, then why ever leave it in place?
I look forward to your response and thanks again for a great video!

      Thanks for your support!
Our covert/low profile bumpers only come in steel. Our full bumpers have options in aluminum or steel.
We’re working on finding a vehicle to film the active front spoiler delete video.
You can purchase a hinged license plate bracket that mounts to the winch fairlead. There’s one on morris4x4center.com, the stuffy security flip up front license plate holder kit.
As far as plastic failing upon tightening the bolt down, that’s simple… Justin put the bracket on backwards haha! The metal CBI bracket is designed to mount on top of the plastic support. Not the other way around, like what was shown in the video.
The winch we’re running is smaller and allowed us room to keep the grille support. It’s not necessary but we figured we’d just keep it on. You can definitely remove it for more space if needed.
We appreciate you taking the time to voice your praise and concerns, as it helps us fine tune our processes. Thank you again!

Thanks for the video. I am in a state that requires a front license plate. Can that be mounted to the front of the bumper where the winch would come out or is that separate piece? I'm not anticipating on having a winch if i choose to purchase this product. Thanks

what are those 2 holes next to the tow hooks? are those for cube lights? if so, do you supply a flat metal piece to cover those 2 holes? and , does a warn vr evo 12 s fits without removing the grill bracket support?

They are for access to your winch. You'll have to relocate some brackets and possibly lines for that winch, our customer service team can walk you through it, when you get to that point.

21:18 The finished product is missing the front parking sensors you removed prior to cutting. What happened to them and the holes that would be left open?

Why are we pretending that this truck didn’t clearly has a visible automatic air dam at the beginning of the video under the truck…. Then later in the video this truck magically didn’t have it anymore to make the video easier 😂.
For people with the air dam, trying to find a video where people actually show you how to deal with it is very frustrating.

These ""instructions" suck compared to what it really takes to get in. You have 2 sets of carriage bolts but you don't say which to use. On the lower support - you put the support under the grill tab - that will break it. It needs to go on top, and you don't include a proper size washer. You include brackets to move the grill support bar but don't mention a word of it anywhere. Why do you identify bolts by the shank size and not the head size? The 3/4 (head) bolts for the front plate don't fit through the frame holes and you have to wallow it out or jack up the bolt to get it through. You include 2 sets of shims/spacers- thick and thin -but don't mention that anywhere. I used thick, then my hood would not shut so I had to tear it all down to but both shims in both sides. Wow.. Very disappointing. If this helps anyone, great, and good luck.

For the love of Heaven. Please stop with the bad music and explain every step, as it is happening. Too much music, not enough explaining to non-mechanics.
